1967 Plymouth Barracuda 2 Door Hardtop Fastback - "Imported from Detroit" - Stored Under Cover in my Climate Controlled Garage READY FOR SPRING CRUISES AND SHOWS! No excuses. Everything works. Every nut and bolt, all hardware, all trim, body plugs, buttons, hood, door, and deck lid rubber bump pads, seals, weather strips, decals/stickers, etc is in place. Nothing missing. There is no 95% this, almost that, or easy fix. Even the factory "woodgrain" steering wheel has no cracks or splits - the car is 100% - period! 2400 miles since the restoration that includes the engine, transmission, rear end, springs, shocks, brakes, exhaust system, heat and factory A/C, complete dash including gages, switches, bezels and pad, suspension, steering, lights, etc. are either new or rebuilt. And every item is correct factory production or re-production such as the mirrors, antenna, wiper arms and blades, factory Transaudio AM radio, radiator and cap, battery, new Legendary interior headliner, door and quarter trim panels, front and rear seats, and carpeting, with upgrades that do not detract from the factory original appearance but do enhance performance and drivability. For instance, the engine, though appearing as the Super Commando 273, is in reality a new factory 318 crate motor as is the new performance heavy duty Torqueflite A-999 crate transmission. Full factory original 383 Formula "S" style dual exhaust system complete with H-pipe and Flowmaster mufflers to the correct "banana" bends at the end of the tail pipes - sounds awesome! Also, the rear stone shield is a genuine factory 383 Formula "S" unit with provisions for the tail pipes left and right. Axles and hubs are upgraded to the much stronger 4.5” bolt circle. Comp Cam 286-H complete kit. MoPar electronic ignition. Factory original Carter AVS style Edelbrock Performer Series #1406, 600 cfm, 4-bbl carburetor with electric choke. Rear gear is a 3.55:1, 8 3/4 Sure-Grip. New 215R70-15 BFGoodrich Silvertown Redline tires by Coker. Trunk is complete with correct factory jack assembly, lug wrench, tire cover, trunk mat, and new BFGoodrich Silvertown Redline spare tire mounted on a matching 15" painted steel rim. This automobile was thoroughly Ziebart undercoated after the restoration that exceeds factory undercoating. Ziebart is widely known for its rust proofing/undercoating and is also an excellent sound deadener and sealer against water and dust. 1st Place score of 97.425 out of 100 at an all MoPar judged show – see score sheet and trophy plaque pictured. This Barracuda is driven - it is not a trailer queen - and it DOES get attention! Documentation from when sold new in California (original California Black Plate included with dealer license plate frame) – service records/receipts, original owner’s manual packet, certicard, build sheet, fender tag, reproduction window sticker, dealer sales brochures, repair manual, and more. Detailed description of restoration with pictures from start to finish. All body panels are factory original, never wrecked, and no filler. California car that had no rust! All glass is factory tint and factory original except the windshield, which is shaded and tinted equal to factory original. All glass is like new with no discoloration, chips, or cracks. Owner history is included - I am the fourth owner with one of the previous owners being a member of the Original RAMCHARGERS Super Stock drag racing team in the 1960's. Compare this automobile to any ’67, ’68, or ’69 Barracuda regardless of price and you will be hard pressed to find another any better, or even equal, with respect to factory original appearance, condition, overall performance, comfort, drivability, dependability, and value. I have over 200 pictures so if you need to see something of significance to you, I will send via e-mail. Please feel free to ask questions through eBay or by phone 816-590-3685. $500.00 nonrefundable deposit (paypal) immediately at auction end is required. Reserve will not be disclosed but is thousands less than the high dollar Barracudas listed on eBay and other sites. Sold “as is”. No warranty. Will consider trading for a factory original or restored to factory original 1960, 1957, or 1955 DeSoto of equal value in like new condition, 100% complete, and everything must work - no exceptions. Buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping after funds clear my bank. Your consideration is sincerely appreciated and inspections are welcome. Please be aware that the auction can end at any time if a valid offer is accepted and all funds are received. HAPPY NEW YEAR! |

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]
Mon, 16 Jun 2014
We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
