1973 Plymouth Barracuda in fresh FY1 Lemon Twist Yellow with correct factory white side stripe and white interior.
The car has the factory fender tag but was missing the broadcast sheet when I bought the car. The car is a factory
318 Cuda (BS23) that now has a 360 that was dyno tested at 410 hp and then was painted and detailed to look just
like the original 318 would have from the factory. I did use factory 340 exhaust manifolds, TTi 2.5" exhaust with
MagnaFlow mufflers and Edelbrock 1406 600cfm (electric choke) carb. The radiator is a correct factory style from
Classic Industries. The car was purchased as a project car in 2006 and stored inside until the rebuild began in
October of 2014. The car was rotisserie restored by a professional shop. The car is new from top to bottom and
front to back. The only thing added was a set of US Car Tool subframe connectors (and a very simple hidden auto
system). The car was professionally media blasted and all factory under coating was removed to inspect the metal
before bodywork and paint was started. The undercoating was reapplied to look like the factory application of
undercoating. Some of the parts used during the rebuild were Moog front kit, DMT paint gasket kit, firewall gasket
kit, heater box resto kit, all new weatherstrip, AMD 70 model bumpers front and back along with AMD bumper brackets
for those 70 bumpers. The brake booster was sent to Booster Dewey and restored. The wiper motor was sent to
Passion4Mopars and restored to correct factory detail. Steering box is a Firm Feel Stage 2 box with large
sector. The front brakes are Dr Diff 11.75" disc and the rears are Dr. Diff 10 x 2 1/2 drums. The rear end is the
factory 8 3/4 unit with a Dr Diff 489 third member with 3.55 sure grip. The Magnum 500 wheels are from Classic
Industries and they 15X7 fronts and 15x8 rear with BFGoodrich tires. The car has all new Legendary interior seat
covers, carpet, console, headliner, sun visors, dash pad (Dashes4U), console, window trim, door sill plates, and
new door panels from Roseville Moparts. Even all the glass is brand new AMD glass with the correct Pentastar
emblems. The factory decals like the air cleaner, anti freeze, emissions, trunk jack instructions, tire pressure
and key instruction decals are installed. The car is detailed similar to the way the it would have left the
factory assembly line. It has inspection marks that resemble how the car was built when it was coming down the
assembly line. All the exterior trim is either new or has been been restored and polished. The car has all the
factory rubber body plugs and body bumpers.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
