1967 Plymouth Barracuda Base 4.5l 273 V8. on 2040-cars
Afton, Wyoming, United States
1967 Plymouth Barracuda This vehicle will only be listed one time, so please have the money to back your maximum bid. Thank you Here is a well optioned Barracuda project. This Plymouth originally came with a 273 V8 automatic transmission, front power disc brakes, bucket seats-with a center console, Tachometer, HD battery, map and courtesy lights. As you can see from the pictures all of the forementioned options are missing. This car needs a lot of work and parts because they are missing (parts), and there is a bit of cancer. I do have the build sheet and fender tag, original owners manual-with service log into the 1970's, plus a few extras for this Barracuda. Lets talk about the rust issues. There is a lot of "Cancer" on the body panels, all of which can be seen in the pictures (I will hide nothing). There is no frame rust or damage to the frame and or unibody structure at all. There is a significant dent at the front of the drivers side fender-That fender should be replaced; not fixed. The hood and roof are really clean. Roller only, what you see is what you will be buying. This is a major project, but it does have a good foundation to start with, and all of the numbers and paper documentation is there. I can and might be able to help with local delivery; at the winning bidders expense. All expenses with the vehicle after the auctions ending are the sole responsibility of the winning bidder, with the exception of ebay listing fees. I can store the car for up to a month after the auctions ending without charging, after the first 30 days a $25. dollar storage fee will absolutely need to be paid monthly. Please feel free to ask for more information and or photos. |

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
