1969 Cutlass fresh base coat clear coat paint PPG as of 7/2013. Car was converted to 455 engine 400 transmission with less than 1000 miles. Ceramic coated headers with all new exhaust from headers back with flow master mufflers. All new front and rear suspension and bushings, all new steering inner outer tie rods everything, upper and lower ball joints, all new disk brake conversion not a junkyard swap all new parts, all new gaskets and weather stripping from front to back, doors, windows, all new interior, bucket seats console, headliner, and top. This is almost a new car. Car has close to $16,000.00 in parts alone not including the price of the base car.

This car was completely disassembled and everything except the Brake booster, bumper and rear end were replace or rebuilt.  This car has several hours of sanding just sanding to get a very nice shine of the car. The chrome was polished and most is original except for the pieces around the front of the hood. The front and rear windshields are removed and resealed after paint.

I have tried to include some pictures of the car in stages of paint and rebuild to show this was not some $99 dollar paint over the existing parts with over spray all over everything. As you can imagine there are tons of hours just in the disassembly and reassembly of this car. This car has a rear spoiler on it currently and I have an original truck that I can sell to the buy either as it is or in a painted form. Price can be negotiated at anytime before or after the sale of the car. This car was in original A/C car I have the compress and hoses if the buyer would like them. I was going to go with a vintage air system which is why the compressor is currently not on the car. This car has never been wrecked I can take pictures of the insides of the fender to show there is no wrinkling from a previous damage and repair upon request. And because I got burned on Ebay once Ill say this. Even though this paint is brand new and the car has only been driven 4 or 5 times since it has been painted there may be rock chips or dead smashed bugs or other very minor scratches to be expected with a car that has been driven in normal driving conditions. If you like and have any fear of this please do not bid. send me your email and I will take pix of every square foot of the car to show you there is nothing hidden. I am selling this car for far less than it is worth as they say my loss your gain. And other than some dust this car has been in a heated enclosed storage since being painted and assembled. I have not even had a chance to thoroughly detail this car since it has been painted. If you have ever been to Oregon you will understand.

The only thing this car is really missing is an Amazing set of wheels and a nice radio setup.  If you are serious about owning a very nice muscle car that you can be proud to drive down the road here is your chance to get one. If you do the math and add up all the new parts and all the labor you see that this car is a steal. Trust me I have seen people buy cars that need work thinking they were getting a deal only to find out they are building a money pit. There is no way you could build this car for the price its listed at. Unless you get a car for free, parts discounted and free labor. That's just the cold honest truth. But if you want a car you can start up and if you want to put your foot in it and lay down a huge patch of rubber this car will do it and do it in style.

I will not ship the car. But if you pay for shipping I will just thru whatever hoop I need to go help you get this car. If you are in the area I ask you to please come check the car out. Even if you are out of the area have someone you know check the car for you. If you are interested and serious email me any requests for pictures video call me on the phone and hear it for yourself. I currently have this in storage not located at my house so if the buyer needs time there is no rush to pick it up I'm sure we can arrange something.

And above all thank you for looking and happy bidding good luck someone is going to get a super nice car for a very good price.  I  will list this car locally so auction may end without notice. I am also open to reasonable offers if you want it now make me an offer.

This Or That: 1980 Oldsmobile 442 vs. 1989 BMW 635CSi [w/poll]

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

The last time I roped a coworker into an automotive debate, I lost. Resoundingly, I might add. Still, 2,385 voters chose to cast their lots for the Fiat 500 Abarth, as opposed to 5,273 choosing the Ford Fiesta ST, and so I can rest easy in the knowledge that at least 30 percent of you, dear readers, see things my way. I still like to think we have more fun, too.
My loss in the first round of our This or That series, in which two Autoblog editors pick sides on any given topic and then attempt to explain why the other is completely wrong, didn't stop me from picking another good-natured fight, this time with Senior Editor Seyth Miersma. Last time, our chosen sides were eerily similar in design, albeit quite different in actual execution. This time, our vehicular peculiarities couldn't seemingly fall any further from one another: A 1980 Oldsmobile 442 wouldn't seem to match up in comparison to a 1989 BMW 635CSi.
How did we come up with such disparate contenders? Simple, really. Seyth and I mutually agreed to choose a car that's currently for sale online. It had to be built and sold in the 1980s, and it had to be a coupe. The price cap was set at $10,000. The fruits of our searching labors will henceforth be disputed, with Seyth on the side of the Germans, and myself arguing in favor of the Rocket Olds. Am I setting myself up for another lopsided loss?

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

eBay Find of the Day: 1976 GMC Motorhome is a jolly green giant

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

If you have a need to relive the 1970s, then here is the vehicle for you. This groovy blast from the past is a 1976 GMC Motorhome currently for auction in Florida on eBay Motors, and it is one green machine - just not in the modern sense.
The seller claims that this beast has had just two owners and has covered a mere 61,308 miles in its decades on the road. It's reportedly never been restored or repainted and comes with all of the necessary books and manuals. A 7.5-liter (455-cubic-inch) Oldsmobile V8 with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission powering the front wheels propels this far-out RV, and the double set of rear wheels out back use a self-leveling air suspension to provide a cushy ride.
The purported low miles and good condition really make this GMC a stand out, though. The exterior combination of lime stripes and beige with just a touch of green is like nothing else on the road today. Plus, the polished bumpers and wheels make it all pop. Inside, it's even better with monochromatic green upholstery and shag carpet. It features everything you'd ever need on a long trip, including a bathroom, kitchenette and lots of seating. The only hint of modernization is an HD TV next to the stove, but its size is a perfect fit for the hole there.
