1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 Convertible Olds Conv W30 on 2040-cars
Pottstown, Pennsylvania, United States
I am selling off a few of my cars in my collection, and this has to be the toughest one to sell. I had bought this 442 from a local man some time ago, and he had purchased it from Texas. Over the past 10 years it has had a good amount of work done to it to get it looking like it does now. The 350 motor was rebuilt 6-7 years ago, under 5000 miles on both the motor and trans. The motor has a little head work, little bigger cam ( nice sound) intake and carb done also. The motor I was told is around 325 horsepower, give or take some. The trans has a shift kit that shifts nicely and will chirp 2nd and 3rd if you wanted to. The car drives stock and drives perfectly, disc brakes with new brake lines, new rear brakes 5000 miles ago also with newer brakes lines. The top was new 5 years ago and has a small tear on the drivers side from the top cylinder not working right? But now has a new top pump, new top lines and new top cylinders. I did not fix the top hole because I never have the top up, only driven on nice days.
The car also has 15 442 wheels on her, newer gas tank, sending unit, fuel lines, new rear bumper with new tail lights new grills, newer exhaust with flow masters, interior is very nice, no cracks on dash, seats are perfect, all seat belts are working as they should, all lights in dash and interior work as they should. The car has Air condition that blows cold, have factory am radio that will go with the car ( has after market cd now not my doing) have a restored factory 442 air cleaner for the car ( not on because it has a hei system). The majority of this work was done 6 - 7 years ago, paint, brake lines, hoses, motor trans and so on. Who ever is lucky enough to buy this car will get alot of thumbs up and enjoyment driving, and will never leave you on the side of the road. I have never had a issue with it. There is a payoff through my credit union..Very easy to take care of. I have sold a lot of cars with payoffs and on ebay and never had a issue. On Mar-02-14 at 19:16:10 PST, seller added the following information: Just listed this 25 minutes ago and I have 5 questions already. 1..I do not have any build sheet or documentation, I bought this car to drive and enjoy. 2.The paint is a 8.5 or so and was done again around 7 years ago..Never been wet sanded or buffed. 3. The car came from Texas and is a really solid vehicle. 4. I cannot take trade in's at this time..Thanks 5. Windows go up and down with no issues at all..It has been sitting for 4 months and started right up today.. Thanks.. In 72 442 was a option package, this has everything I can see that you could get..Being sold as a Cutlass as I cannot prove it is a 442 package? |

Jay Leno bangs up his own Toronado in GT6
Wed, 11 Dec 2013Ever since Gran Turismo 4, Jay Leno has had at least one of his cars included in the popular racing simulator (starting with the Tank Car), and more of his machines appears in Gran Turismo 6. They include this nose-heavy, front-wheel-drive V8-powered muscle car. Yes, that aptly describes a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - except Leno's is rear-wheel drive. And it has a Cadillac CTS-V race engine modified to pump out 1,070 horsepower.
For the latest Jay Leno's Garage episode, he takes his real Toronado out for a cruise and then drives the virtual one like he stole it, accruing some body damage along the way. Leno also drives the virtual supercar Mercedes-Benz designed for GT6, the AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept that debuted at the LA Auto Show, along with the real one, which is a 1:1-scale model. The model is radio-controlled and equipped with a small electric motor, sufficient to move it on and off of auto show floors.
Head below to watch the episode, which includes a few words from GT6 creator Kazunori Yamauchi.
Ferrari FF pitted against Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser in crazy Generation Gap comparison
Thu, 13 Nov 2014The folks behind Generation Gap have lost their minds with this latest video. The goal here is to determine the ultimate family cruiser, but the choices are what you would least expect, with a heavily modded 1970 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser going up against a 2012 Ferrari FF.
You might anticipate an over-40-year-old Oldsmobile to pale in comparison to any modern Ferrari, but this wagon has a ton of secrets under its skin thanks to Lingenfelter. First, it packs a supercharged LS3 V8 with a claimed 650 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox. That big upgrade in power is further helped with air suspension and massive Wilwood disc brakes. The result is nothing short of deafening, with blaring yelps whenever the driver even nudges the accelerator.
The alternative sounds just as good, albeit in very different way. The Ferrari's 6.3-liter V12 pumps out 651 hp and 504 pound-feet with a part-time all-wheel drive system. While the FF lacks a lot of the hauling ability of the Olds, it makes up for the deficit in handling, luxury, and in many eyes, simply by having the famous prancing horse on the grille.
GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
