NO RESERVE-   Quick 3 day auction.   I've bought another car so this must go.  I've driven this car about 2,000 miles, it's from St Louis Missouri.   The interior is in great shape except the drivers should be reupholstered.

It has a Maine Inspection Sticker and is currently registered and driven occasionally, the day of  this listing, I plan a 200 mile trip in the car.  It has a very small gas leak that we've not been able to detect, but doesn't appear to be near the engine.  Tires are good.  I had brake work done and a new battery installed.

This car is a 10 footer, it looks good 10 to 20 feet away.  There is rust in the rear quarters that's been repaired but not done professionally.  This was on the cover of Toronado Club "Front Driver" magazine in January.

The door locks and seats work fine but the power front seat doesn't on the drivers side.

I must move this quickly, I love the car but it's time to move on.  It hauls ass....sort of speak...but, it's rattlely and makes noises in the doors and windows.  But overally, a neat car.  there's a few spots of surface rust, but no floor rust or rocker panel rust.

You can store the car here 4 months but then it's 75 dollars a month

There is no title with this car but it will come with a Maine Title letter from the DMW which is accepted by All 50 States to get a new title.   Maine doesn't issue titles on cars this old.

Good luck, it's again no reserve.

I just took this car for a 200 mile ride and really forgot how much I love this car.   First, I mentioned rattles and noises.   Those noises are really more related to hitting pot holes and having noises a traditionally old car would make.   Particularly when slamming the door.  But as far as normal highway driving on a good paved road, the car is very very quiet.  I had forgotten that.   I will upload if possible some youtube.com video I took today while driving the car.   It corners and handles fantastically, and the 5.7 litre V8 with front drive makes it very easy to burn out if you wanted too. (or even accidentally).

Other issues.  Things that work as mentioned above with some clarifications.

Cruise Control - Works
Digital Clock - Works
Power front Passenger Seat - Works
Both Power Windows -  Works
Both Power Door Locks - Works
All Gages, Oil, Temp, Voltage and Fuel - Works
AM - FM Factory Radio - Works
Tilt Steering Wheel Works ( 3 spoke sports with leather wrap special to the XSC)
Interior Dome Lamps  - Works
Under Dash Lamps - Works
Heater - Works
In Glove Box Power Trunk Switch - Works

What doesn't work,

Power Antenna
Power Drivers Seat
Cigerette Lighters (none work)
Illuminated Vanity Mirror
Illuminated Ash Trays

Today, a small Nissan with two hot girls slowed down to give me the thumbs up and wave.......which always seems to happen when I drive this car.

All Exterior Lighting works including the front fender Side Cornering Lamps.  This is a youtube upload today of the car being driven on Interstate 95.  I has the 85 miles per hour limited speedometer which is basically useless since you really don't know how fast your going.   I got it up to 75 according to the speedo.

cut and paste into address....that will get you to youtube....ebay won't allow the beginning of the address....www.....

On Apr-08-14 at 02:33:15 PDT, seller added the following information:

Here is another Youtube video, but this is the car driving at a slower speed, 45 miles per hour.

The Engine is extremely quiet, no rapping or tapping noises.

Also remember on the front seat that needs to be re-upholstered.     You can see the seat when your sitting in the seat driving the car!  It doesn't look bad when you cover it up.

Also, there are no rips or tears or fading or any issues with the Vinyl Roof.   It's very nicely padded and shines very well when Armor-all is applied.

Jay Leno bangs up his own Toronado in GT6

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

Ever since Gran Turismo 4, Jay Leno has had at least one of his cars included in the popular racing simulator (starting with the Tank Car), and more of his machines appears in Gran Turismo 6. They include this nose-heavy, front-wheel-drive V8-powered muscle car. Yes, that aptly describes a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - except Leno's is rear-wheel drive. And it has a Cadillac CTS-V race engine modified to pump out 1,070 horsepower.
For the latest Jay Leno's Garage episode, he takes his real Toronado out for a cruise and then drives the virtual one like he stole it, accruing some body damage along the way. Leno also drives the virtual supercar Mercedes-Benz designed for GT6, the AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept that debuted at the LA Auto Show, along with the real one, which is a 1:1-scale model. The model is radio-controlled and equipped with a small electric motor, sufficient to move it on and off of auto show floors.
Head below to watch the episode, which includes a few words from GT6 creator Kazunori Yamauchi.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

eBay Find of the Day: 1976 GMC Motorhome is a jolly green giant

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

If you have a need to relive the 1970s, then here is the vehicle for you. This groovy blast from the past is a 1976 GMC Motorhome currently for auction in Florida on eBay Motors, and it is one green machine - just not in the modern sense.
The seller claims that this beast has had just two owners and has covered a mere 61,308 miles in its decades on the road. It's reportedly never been restored or repainted and comes with all of the necessary books and manuals. A 7.5-liter (455-cubic-inch) Oldsmobile V8 with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission powering the front wheels propels this far-out RV, and the double set of rear wheels out back use a self-leveling air suspension to provide a cushy ride.
The purported low miles and good condition really make this GMC a stand out, though. The exterior combination of lime stripes and beige with just a touch of green is like nothing else on the road today. Plus, the polished bumpers and wheels make it all pop. Inside, it's even better with monochromatic green upholstery and shag carpet. It features everything you'd ever need on a long trip, including a bathroom, kitchenette and lots of seating. The only hint of modernization is an HD TV next to the stove, but its size is a perfect fit for the hole there.
