Up for sale is my 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora with the 4.0l V8.  Car runs and drives great, exterior is in good shape and the interior is clean.  This one is close to fully loaded with the following features:

4.0L V8
Ice cold AC
ABS with traction and stability control
Tire pressure monitoring
17" wheels with 2 new front tires
Power sun roof
Power locks, windows with keyless entry
Leather interior
heated driver and passenger seat
Automatic wiper
Automatic headlights
Auto dimming compass mirror
Heated side mirrors
CD/Cassette radio with steering wheel controls
Driver information center
Front and rear fog lights

I have done a full tune up on this car with new Delco plugs and boots.  Valve cover gaskets have been replaced as well.  The front tires are new with around 2k miles on them.  I can include the receipt from Town Fair tire for warranty.  New Monroe shocks/struts on the front and rear.  All the interior lights have been replaced, everything works.

The car does need a few things, but nothing that needs to be done right away:
Power steering line has a slow leak
Coolant leak- Looks to be the coolant crossover pipes.  It is not burning coolant!
Transmission: The check engine light comes on with P0741.  This only affects the car by 1mpg and the light comes on.  I have read that this can be ignored indefinitely and the transmission will keep going.  I never noticed any performance issues.  This is a very common issue on the transmissions found in this car and many Cadillacs (4T80e).  The issue is an internal seal that starts to seep and won't allow enough pressure to build to lock the torque converter.  After clearing the code it comes back usually between 100 and 200 miles of driving.
Oil leak-can smell oil when idling and see a few drops here and there.  Oil pan probably needs gasket replaced.
Will need crank sensors replaced, stalled a couple times since I owned it because of them.
That is all that I can think of.  I believe these are the only problems which I have been driving the car with since I bought it.  This is a real nice driving and handling car, but I'm more comfortable in a huge RWD car, so this one has to go.

Body is in good shape, has some scratches and a scrape above the rear passenger wheel well.  No big dents or rust, paint looks good.

I have a clear CT title for the car.  Cash only sale, won't ship it, must meet in person, I will not ship this!  If you would like to see the car before bidding please message me to arrange a time.  A non-refundable $250 deposit is required within 48hrs of auction end by paypal.  Vehicle is sold as is with no warranty, please bid accordingly!

Ferrari FF pitted against Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser in crazy Generation Gap comparison

Thu, 13 Nov 2014

The folks behind Generation Gap have lost their minds with this latest video. The goal here is to determine the ultimate family cruiser, but the choices are what you would least expect, with a heavily modded 1970 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser going up against a 2012 Ferrari FF.
You might anticipate an over-40-year-old Oldsmobile to pale in comparison to any modern Ferrari, but this wagon has a ton of secrets under its skin thanks to Lingenfelter. First, it packs a supercharged LS3 V8 with a claimed 650 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox. That big upgrade in power is further helped with air suspension and massive Wilwood disc brakes. The result is nothing short of deafening, with blaring yelps whenever the driver even nudges the accelerator.
The alternative sounds just as good, albeit in very different way. The Ferrari's 6.3-liter V12 pumps out 651 hp and 504 pound-feet with a part-time all-wheel drive system. While the FF lacks a lot of the hauling ability of the Olds, it makes up for the deficit in handling, luxury, and in many eyes, simply by having the famous prancing horse on the grille.

eBay Find of the Day: 1976 GMC Motorhome is a jolly green giant

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

If you have a need to relive the 1970s, then here is the vehicle for you. This groovy blast from the past is a 1976 GMC Motorhome currently for auction in Florida on eBay Motors, and it is one green machine - just not in the modern sense.
The seller claims that this beast has had just two owners and has covered a mere 61,308 miles in its decades on the road. It's reportedly never been restored or repainted and comes with all of the necessary books and manuals. A 7.5-liter (455-cubic-inch) Oldsmobile V8 with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission powering the front wheels propels this far-out RV, and the double set of rear wheels out back use a self-leveling air suspension to provide a cushy ride.
The purported low miles and good condition really make this GMC a stand out, though. The exterior combination of lime stripes and beige with just a touch of green is like nothing else on the road today. Plus, the polished bumpers and wheels make it all pop. Inside, it's even better with monochromatic green upholstery and shag carpet. It features everything you'd ever need on a long trip, including a bathroom, kitchenette and lots of seating. The only hint of modernization is an HD TV next to the stove, but its size is a perfect fit for the hole there.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
