Black 1986 Oldsmobile 442 455 Big Block 500hp on 2040-cars
Manchester, New Hampshire, United States
True nascar power. 470hp and 565 lb- ft of torque from a completely built oldsmobile F code 455 big block with under 1000 miles. Motor was built from the blue prints of the October 2000 Car Craft magazine build. This motor is the exact build except a Holly 850 double pumper was used instead of a demon carb. Motor is a complete build from crank on up. .060 over , aluminum performer rpm heads, aluminum performer intake, comp cam, roller rockers, and the list goes on. Please look up the exact build from October 2000 issue of Car Craft. The performance results are staggering. I also have pictures of the magazine article in my pictures. Videos have also been taken today so please contact me for links to the videos of sound, performance, and 360 degree views. The car itself was the top of the line Oldsmobile 442 with power seat, cruise control, tilt wheel, power steering, power windows, power locks, air conditioning( ac current unhooked for performance reasons) the chassis is in excellent shape and drives straight as an arrow down the road. the car is in excellent working order and drives down the road like a stock 307 car did from the factory, however stop the gas peddle and tire melting power will pin you back in the seat until you have to let off. This car is a completely streetable daily driver that runs on pump gas. It drives down the road with no rattles, no vibrations. Please do not be fooled though. This is a low 11 second car. With good drag slicks and minimal performance work it will make 10 seconds in the quarter mile. Meaning the way it sits, right now, its faster than a dodge viper. Faster than a new Corvette. And sound much much better as well. The exhaust starts with hooker headers mated with Flow master true duels exhaust that exit at the back under rear of car. Transmission is a T400 Automatic 3sp with double bands, Kevlar clutches with no hesitation. The rear end is the bullet proof factory posi track 3:73 gears. factory sway bars. All the seals, bearings, and gaskets in motor and tranny are all new with no leaks. Belts, spark plugs, and fluids all replaced today. Car was also detailed in and out today as well. Black paint is like a black mirror. Body is straight as an arrow. No rust. No chips in paint. couple od small dents, but no creases. just a few small dent on hood which are barely noticeable. 442 badges and lettering are all perfect. no ripples in paint. The rims are real authentic and very very rare ss 442 wheels which are 15 inch. you cannot find these in 15 inch. most all were 14 inch. these are factory upgrades!! and all four are in good shape. The tires and brakes are in great shape as well. the interior is absolutely beautiful. And completely stock looking. Even the stock stereo is still in good working order. seats have no rips. Carpets and headliner in great shape. floors and trunk are solid and rust free. gages all work and light up great. gas gage works. tach and speedo work although speedo is not very accurate. if you put bigger rear tires I think it will be more accurate. all the lights work as they should. Car will pass inspection with flying colors. all the trim is excellent. interior is a very nice blueish grey. I cannot say enough about this car. Every day I take this car out people approach me. These cars are rare and becoming very collectable. Mine is one of a kind. I have never seen another G body olds with a 455 build like this. Its a very sought after chassis because of how light they are. The drive train in my car alone is worth over 10k used. No expenses were spared on this car. Two weeks ago my Lincoln Navigator lost a timing chain and blew the motor so now im forced to sell my 442. Its the only reason its for sale. I have been driving this car every day for the last two weeks and its an absolute joy to drive. If you love the look and feel of these cars but hate the lame 170hp 307 these cars came with look no further. This car drives better and has over 330hp more than the stock motor has. This car is the ultimate duel purpose car. I have NEVER RACED IT AT THE TRACK. NEVER ABUSED IT. what I can tell you though is at 40 mph you can stomp the gas and leave two very long black rubber marks on the pavement. At that speed you will be pinned to the back of your seat until you run out of room. Again the drivetrain is barely broken in. It looks, sounds, and drives unbelievable.. I can only hope it goes to someone who appreciates it as much as I have. please contact me for more questions, pictures, and videos. 6o3-657-o888......I would love to hear from you. and answer and questions you have. Car must be paid in full and any checks and or paypal must clear before my car leaves. I can also meet at the local Manchester Airport with the car if that would help. If the car were to be picked up by a transport service I am very accommodating and will help load it. Good luck and happy bidding!!!! |

Ferrari FF pitted against Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser in crazy Generation Gap comparison
Thu, 13 Nov 2014The folks behind Generation Gap have lost their minds with this latest video. The goal here is to determine the ultimate family cruiser, but the choices are what you would least expect, with a heavily modded 1970 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser going up against a 2012 Ferrari FF.
You might anticipate an over-40-year-old Oldsmobile to pale in comparison to any modern Ferrari, but this wagon has a ton of secrets under its skin thanks to Lingenfelter. First, it packs a supercharged LS3 V8 with a claimed 650 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox. That big upgrade in power is further helped with air suspension and massive Wilwood disc brakes. The result is nothing short of deafening, with blaring yelps whenever the driver even nudges the accelerator.
The alternative sounds just as good, albeit in very different way. The Ferrari's 6.3-liter V12 pumps out 651 hp and 504 pound-feet with a part-time all-wheel drive system. While the FF lacks a lot of the hauling ability of the Olds, it makes up for the deficit in handling, luxury, and in many eyes, simply by having the famous prancing horse on the grille.
GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
Jay Leno bangs up his own Toronado in GT6
Wed, 11 Dec 2013Ever since Gran Turismo 4, Jay Leno has had at least one of his cars included in the popular racing simulator (starting with the Tank Car), and more of his machines appears in Gran Turismo 6. They include this nose-heavy, front-wheel-drive V8-powered muscle car. Yes, that aptly describes a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - except Leno's is rear-wheel drive. And it has a Cadillac CTS-V race engine modified to pump out 1,070 horsepower.
For the latest Jay Leno's Garage episode, he takes his real Toronado out for a cruise and then drives the virtual one like he stole it, accruing some body damage along the way. Leno also drives the virtual supercar Mercedes-Benz designed for GT6, the AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept that debuted at the LA Auto Show, along with the real one, which is a 1:1-scale model. The model is radio-controlled and equipped with a small electric motor, sufficient to move it on and off of auto show floors.
Head below to watch the episode, which includes a few words from GT6 creator Kazunori Yamauchi.
