1972 442 convertible (tribute); This is not a Barrett Jackson Car! It is a great cruise night car that runs, looks and drives great! The car gets great attention and thumbs up every time I take it out. You will need to add 20 minutes to every trip to the convenience store due to the people who want to check out the car and talk about the one that got away when they were younger! I drive this car 200 miles round trip to the beach every weekend in the summer (weather permitting).
Everything on the car works as it should; I would not hesitate to drive this car across country with the AC on! The body and paint were done about 4 years ago and still look good. There is no rust on the car or frame, the floors and trunk are in good shape. There are some minor chips on the finish, the gaps between the quarters and the doors are not perfect, but like I said, it is a driver and the price reflects the condition. you could not build this car in this condition for what I want to get out of it. The reserve is very reasonable. Please look at all of the pics and ask questions before you buy the car. I would recommend a third party inspection of the car and will work with your inspector to get it done. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, I will work with your shipper and can provide a good company that I have worked with. E-mail me with questions or call my cell before 9:00pm eastern time (484) 951-1363; Bob.
The Bad; the top has one tear on the drivers side; the read window is glass and is only one year old. The convertible lift cylinder broke and the ram went through the roof over the winter. I have since replaced both lift cylinders, the top pump and the line kit. The hole was repaired and does not leak. The sealer that they put on the outside of the top is wearing thin, I will have more applied this weekend.
350 rocket engine and 350 trans with shift kit; the tires chirp when it shits into second; both rebuilt by previous owner. I do not have receipts but I can send a video of the car running and driving, the car has a mild cam and a edelbrock 600 carb. Hurts dual gate shifter, AC, newer brakes, master cylinder and front end parts, new brake lines, new radiator, newer dual exhaust system. The interior is about 3 years old and has no rips or tears. All of the interior lights and switches work. I also replaced the convertible top switch when I did the cylinders (real pain in the butt)!
I do not have to sell this car; do not call with low ball offers; I just finished restoring a 1979 Trans Am and I only have time to drive one of them. I can send a pic of the T/A next to this car if you want verification
A $500.00, non-refundable deposit is required within 4 days of the auction ending. Final payment is required within 8 days of the auction ending. I don't care how you pay for the car but it will not go onto the trailer until the money is in my bank account. I have the title in hand and the car is ready to go.

eBay Find of the Day: 1976 GMC Motorhome is a jolly green giant
Wed, 18 Jun 2014If you have a need to relive the 1970s, then here is the vehicle for you. This groovy blast from the past is a 1976 GMC Motorhome currently for auction in Florida on eBay Motors, and it is one green machine - just not in the modern sense.
The seller claims that this beast has had just two owners and has covered a mere 61,308 miles in its decades on the road. It's reportedly never been restored or repainted and comes with all of the necessary books and manuals. A 7.5-liter (455-cubic-inch) Oldsmobile V8 with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission powering the front wheels propels this far-out RV, and the double set of rear wheels out back use a self-leveling air suspension to provide a cushy ride.
The purported low miles and good condition really make this GMC a stand out, though. The exterior combination of lime stripes and beige with just a touch of green is like nothing else on the road today. Plus, the polished bumpers and wheels make it all pop. Inside, it's even better with monochromatic green upholstery and shag carpet. It features everything you'd ever need on a long trip, including a bathroom, kitchenette and lots of seating. The only hint of modernization is an HD TV next to the stove, but its size is a perfect fit for the hole there.
This Or That: 1980 Oldsmobile 442 vs. 1989 BMW 635CSi [w/poll]
Thu, 09 Oct 2014The last time I roped a coworker into an automotive debate, I lost. Resoundingly, I might add. Still, 2,385 voters chose to cast their lots for the Fiat 500 Abarth, as opposed to 5,273 choosing the Ford Fiesta ST, and so I can rest easy in the knowledge that at least 30 percent of you, dear readers, see things my way. I still like to think we have more fun, too.
My loss in the first round of our This or That series, in which two Autoblog editors pick sides on any given topic and then attempt to explain why the other is completely wrong, didn't stop me from picking another good-natured fight, this time with Senior Editor Seyth Miersma. Last time, our chosen sides were eerily similar in design, albeit quite different in actual execution. This time, our vehicular peculiarities couldn't seemingly fall any further from one another: A 1980 Oldsmobile 442 wouldn't seem to match up in comparison to a 1989 BMW 635CSi.
How did we come up with such disparate contenders? Simple, really. Seyth and I mutually agreed to choose a car that's currently for sale online. It had to be built and sold in the 1980s, and it had to be a coupe. The price cap was set at $10,000. The fruits of our searching labors will henceforth be disputed, with Seyth on the side of the Germans, and myself arguing in favor of the Rocket Olds. Am I setting myself up for another lopsided loss?
GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
