You are looking at a 1993 Sentra SE-R that has been tastefully modified. As you probably already know Nissan produced an instant classic when they released the B13 SE-R in 1991. The car provided the motoring public with an affordable, economical car that was surprisingly satisfying to drive. Originally the car came with a high revving DOHC SR20DE 4 cylinder, four-wheel disc brakes and an LSD equipped 5-speed manual. It was love at first sight for the automotive press who likened the car to BMW’s legendary 2002. Car and Driver selected the car for its 10 Best list every year it was produced. I am very familiar with this particular model of car. In fact this is the 9th one that I have built / owned. This particular car was build to compete in the Grassroots Motorsports Challenge which is why it is still wearing the livery from that event. If you are unfamiliar with the challenge it is a unique event that is held each year in Gainsville Fl. The competitors must build a vehicle that can excel in autocross, drag racing and a concours. This car is ready to go for autocrossing or drag racing competition. This example has been fortified with a Japanese Market 2.0 Liter SR20DET engine. It has a quick spooling t25 turbo and Jim Wolf Technologies S3 cams. The car idles with a nice lope and it builds boost rapidly in each gear. To help cool the intake charge a front mount bar and plate intercooler has been added. The car utilizes a high-flow Z32 MAF from a Nissan 300ZX turbo, controlled by a Nismotronics ECU. The power is transmitted to the pavement through a Exedy stage three clutch, and a lightweight Fidanza flywheel. The cars OEM LSD still grips well and ensures that power goes to both front wheels. A custom 3 Inch mandrel bent exhaust scavenges the exhaust, which exits through a tastefull 3.5 inch tip. All these modifications help the vehicle make approximately 235 horsepower. The car is capable of low 14 second quarter mile runs all day long at 8 pounds of boost. The car rides on a set of OEM SE-R 14 inch alloy wheels with new BFG tires. It has KYB AGX adjustable shocks at each corner as well as road magnet lowering springs. A Suspension Techniques rear sway bar helps with the rotation and a front strut tower bar ties the suspension together. These cars are getting harder to find, and this is a clean example. It is not perfect as you would expect considering it is twenty years old. The paint has several scratches that are visible in the pictures. There is a small two inch rust spot on the drivers rear fender lip. The bottom right quarter panel has a small rust spot at the wheels leading edge. Pictures were taken of both areas. The interior is in great condition as you can see in the pictures. The seats are in good shape and are free of rips or tears. Unfortunatly the headliner is starting to come down aproximatly one inch from the rear glass, it should be an easy fix with some spray adhesive. The car originally had A/C and is still plumbed for it. I have a compressor that I will include with the car but you will need to source one high pressure line and a condenser. The heater works great. The car has a Pioneer CD player in the dash above an autometer boost gauge. The car is completely street legal. According to the autocheck for the vehicle it was involved in two minor accidents. I have been over the entire car and can not find any damage other then some minor scuffing on the front bumper. I removed the bumper when I installed the intercooler and there is no frame damage what so ever. If you have any further questions about the vehicle or would like some additional pictures please feel free to contact me through ebay or call me on my cell phone at 904-465-0458. The car is located in Jacksonville Florida and can be viewed their if you are so inclined. I can assist with shipping in the continental United States, but the buyer is responsible for any shipping costs. |

Nissan recalling 104k Juke models over faulty timing chain [UPDATE]
Thu, 15 May 2014General Motors isn't the only manufacturer that gets to issue a recall today, as Nissan is set to announce a voluntary recall of the 2011 to 2013 Juke due to a fault with the timing chain. 104,439 units are affected by this recall. The timing chain in some Jukes could deteriorate over time, leading to a warning light in the instrument cluster. In extreme cases, the chain could snap.
Owners of affected vehicles are being notified, and will need to report to their local dealership. The free repairs will replace the timing chain, chain guides and crank sprocket.
Take a look below for a short statement to Autoblog from Nissan.
Panoz mulls suing Nissan for ZEOD RC's Deltawing likeness
Tue, 17 Sep 2013Imitation might be the sincerest form of flattery, but in racing, where something as simple as a car's shape can lead to a competitive advantage, imitation can be a big no-no. That reality is being played out right now, with the DeltaWing prototype and the Nissan ZEOD RC. The two cars, as you can see from the images above, bear a striking resemblance to each other. They're so similar, in fact, that Dr. Don Panoz, one of the big names behind the DeltaWing program, is assigning some legal eagles to investigate any patent infringement.
The similarity shouldn't be a shock, though. Both cars are penned by Ben Bowlby, and the DeltaWing - which will be arriving as a coupe in the very near future - had Nissan branding and power for a not-insignificant amount of time. But for Panoz, the ZEOD RC's resemblance is just a bit too much, as he told Autoweek, "It's been interesting to watch people from Nissan trying to dodge the question, but the fact is that in their own press release they admit that the configuration of the ZEOD is the same as the DeltaWing. And we do have patents, in fact another one was just issued last week. We are in discussions with our legal advisors and we'll see what happens."
Frankly, it's not difficult to see what Panoz means. The general shape of the ZEOD RC, with its wide rear track and narrow front track arrangement - not to mention the headlights mounted over the rear wheel arches and any arrangements not visible under the body - are so reminiscent of the DeltaWing that differences like the shape of its closed cockpit and more upright front end might not prove different enough to avert Panoz's legal action. We'll stay with this one and let you know as more becomes available.
