I am selling my 2006 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V.  For those who do not know about these cars, they are build to compete with Honda Civic SI's.  It has a very powerful and full of torque 175HP 2.5 liter engine.  It is mated to a six speed manual transmission.  This is the only option drivetrain for this car.  It is very quick and a blast to drive.  I will give you a complete breakdown of this car.

Body: it is in overall very good shape. It has some minor scratches and dings that could be expected on an eight year old car, see the pictures,  but nothing major. It has brand new tires all the way around. It is Silver in color and the paint is on very good shape. It has been a southern car it's entire life and has no rust on the body or the frame.  All the glass is in good shape with no cracks or chips.

Interior: The interior is in mint condition. It is black with cloth seats. The front seats are inspired by the Skyline GT-R and fit your body perfect.  There are no tears or holes in the seat.  The car has never been smoked in.   All the electronics work as they are supposed to.  It has a Rockford Fosgate stereo with factory subwoofer which sounds great.  The A/C and Heat work perfectly.  All light work as they are supposed to.

Drivetrain: Tthe car has a 175HP 2.5 liter engine and six speed manual, that is only offered in the Spec V version of the Sentra. Everything runs and works great. It is all stock except for a JDM header that I just installed to replace the PreCat as these tend to fail on these cars. The check engine light is on because the header makes it trip an O2 sensor code. This does not affect anything and can be eliminated by placing a spacer between the O2 sensor and header.   It is still legal in all states as this was only a pre-cat.  The main cat is still on the vehicle.   Everything else is stock and has been very well maintained.  It runs great with no ticks, knocks, smoke, or any leaks

This car is in very good condition. It has had three adult owners and has not been abused like many of these cars. It was built to compete with the Honda Civic SI and is faster than it in stock form. I really enjoy this car as it is fast and fun to drive. It gets about 24MPG in town and 30MPG on the highway. The only reason I am selling the car is I need something with a little bit more room in the back with two growing boys.  I would trust this car to drive across country.

Evatran, Bosch will sell wireless home charger for as low as $1,998*

Mon, Jan 6 2014

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today, the big news for plug in vehicles is that they can now start to ditch the plug. As expected, the system costs around $3,000 and is available for both the Nissan Leaf and the Chevrolet Volt. For the first 250 customers, though, Evatran is offering $1,000 off the standard price, a 30 percent discount. Deliveries start next month and Evatran says it expects the discounted units to all be snatched up in the first half of the year. The wireless charger charges as quickly as conventional corded systems. Called the Plugless Wireless EV charger, the 240-volt station will be installed by Bosch and needs a specific adapter to be used with the Volt or the Leaf (the Leaf version costs $100 more). So, any two-EV families out there will need to pony up double if there's a Chevy and a Nissan in the garage. Of course, since the Plugless system only works with older Leafs (2010-2012 model years - but with any Volt), any late adopters will not be able to take advantage of the new technology, for now. Evatran says the wireless charger "charges the Volt and Leaf as quickly as conventional corded systems and all vehicle features, such as charge-timers and phone applications, can be used seamlessly with the Plugless system." After the first 250 units, standard prices for the wireless chargers take effect again: $2,998 (Volt) and $3,098 (Leaf). Evatran says it will announce wireless chargers for additional vehicles and model years later this year. Evatran and Bosch offer Promotional Pricing as low as $1,998 to first 250 PLUGLESS™ Wireless EV Charging Customers LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Evatran Group, Inc. ("Evatran"), in partnership with Bosch Automotive Service Solutions, announced today at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show that it is offering reduced promotional pricing to the first 250 customers who opt to Go PLUGLESS with their electric vehicle ("EV") experience. The PLUGLESS system offers a convenient, wireless charging alternative to the repetitive process of unplugging and plugging-in electric vehicles. The reduced pricing includes all charging hardware and is as much as a 30% discount off the system's standard MSRP. The discount is available only to the first 250 customers. Initial shipments of the PLUGLESS system, the first wireless EV charging product in the world available to individual EV drivers, will begin in February 2014.

2014 Nissan Rogue earns IIHS Top Safety Pick+ [w/videos]

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

The 2014 Nissan Rogue has scored a Top Safety Pick+ award following positive crash test results by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The new crossover scored good results (the highest rating) in the group's five crashworthiness checks and a basic rating for front crash prevention.
The IIHS found that the Rogue also performed well in its small overlap front test with a low risk of injuries, and the driver's space maintained its structure well. It was an improvement over the previous generation, which received a marginal rating in that evaluation. The Rogue's optional forward collision warning system was enough for a basic rating in avoiding accidents.
To qualify as a Top Safety Pick, a vehicle must earn good ratings in the the moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint evaluations, plus a good or acceptable result in the small overlap front test. To receive the additional Plus rating in 2014, it must also have a basic, advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention. The IIHS scores vehicles as good, acceptable, marginal or poor, and avoidance systems are scored basic, advanced or superior, depending on the type of system and its performance. Scroll down to watch the videos of the small and moderate overlap crash tests and read the full IIHS statement.

Why China will soon lead the electric vehicle market

Sat, Jan 16 2016

China could be the world's largest electric vehicle market by 2020, thanks to significant government subsidies and the major drawbacks of owning an internal combustion model there. The country's populace registered 75,000 EVs in 2014, and sales figures in 2015 looked even better. In a new video, Renault-Nissan examines the trend and why it happened. Chinese cities heavily encourage buyers to go green through vehicle incentives, but they also make it a hassle to be a polluter. In some places, there's a lottery to limit vehicle registrations and alternating driving bans for even or odd license plate numbers. However, these limits don't apply to EVs, and the country's automakers have benefited from the regulations by introducing small, inexpensive electric models, albeit with sometimes hilarious styling. China's emissions regulations will get even tighter in the coming years. In fact, a Honda exec recently predicted the company wouldn't be able to sell any models there without some form of electric assistance by 2025. Get a better look at the country's electric push to clean up vehicle pollution in Renault-Nissan's video. Related Video:
