THIS 1995 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAS ACTUALLY BEEN A DAILY RUNNER FOR THE FAMILY. IN THE LAST ICE STORM WE HAD THE ROADS WERE ICY AND SHE DIDN'T SLIDE A BIT IN 4W HIGH. ALTHOUGH SHE'S GOT 193K ON HER SHE STARTS AND RUNS WELL. SHE DOESN'T BURN OIL, NO SMOKE FROM EXHAUST. ENGINE IS A 3.0 LITER AND NISSAN'S LAST.
THE TIRES ARE IN GREAT SHAPE. THE INSPECTION IS GOOD UNTIL 7/13.
INTERIOR IS IN DECENT SHAPE. SOME LIGHT STAINS IN UPHOLSTERY HERE AND THERE AND IN CARPET, BUT SUPRISINGLY NOT TORE UP BADLY.
ALL WINDOWS WORK UP AND DOWN, EXCEPT THE CONTROLLER IN MAIN SWITCH DOESN'T OPERATE PASSENGER DOOR. PASSENGER DOOR GOES UP AND DOWN WITH PASSENGER CONTROLLER.
THE BODY PAINT IS ok. SOME DENTS HERE AND THERE, RIGHT FENDER CLEAR COAT IS FADING AND CHIPPING SOMEWHAT. OVERALL DECENT FOR 17 YEARS OLD.
THE ONLY DOWNFALL TO THIS VEHICLE IS THAT: ***THERE IS NO REVERSE!***
SO, IF YOU GUYS ARE INTERESTED, THEN SHE'S PROBABLY GOING TO NEED A TRANSMISSION OR GET IT REBUILT.
THE SHAME IS, THIS LITTLE SUV RUNS GREAT!
JUST NO REVERSE!!!!
SO, TO THOSE OF YOU INTERESTED, IT WOULD MAKE A GREAT PARTS CAR, OR JUST FIX THE TRANNY.
WE LIVE IN VIRGINIA, AND I WOULDN'T BE AFRAID TO DRIVE IT OUT OF THE STATE.
OF COURSE, WE'RE SELLING IT IN "AS IS" CONDITION. NO WARRANTY.
i JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER TRUCK AND MY WIFE SAYS THE PATHFINDER HAS TO GO, SO HERE'S A HINT: IT'S SET TO SELL, THE RESERVE IS VERY RESPECTABLE!!! AND AFFORDABLE....
BEST OF LUCK!!!
On Feb-11-13 at 15:55:06 PST, seller added the following information:
After another inspection of the underneath of this Pathfinder, I did find some flaky surface rust on the rear frame. I don't believe its rusted thru. There appears to be some rust thru underneath where the rear seats rest down. That's all I saw.
But to be very fair, please remember that this vehicle is 17 years old.
Other than the reverse being out, which I have stated twice in the main description, I will repeat again that the reverse gear is out.
Otherwise, she's been a daily runner for me to get the kids.
Thanks!!!

Question of the Day: Most heinous act of badge engineering?
Wed, Dec 30 2015Badge engineering, in which one company slaps its emblems on another company's product and sells it, has a long history in the automotive industry. When Sears wanted to sell cars, a deal was made with Kaiser-Frazer and the Sears Allstate was born. Iranians wanted new cars in the 1960s, and the Rootes Group was happy to offer Hillman Hunters for sale as Iran Khodro Paykans. Sometimes, though, certain badge-engineered vehicles made sense only in the 26th hour of negotiations between companies. The Suzuki Equator, say, which was a puzzling rebadge job of the Nissan Frontier. How did that happen? My personal favorite what-the-heck-were-they-thinking example of badge engineering is the 1971-1973 Plymouth Cricket. Chrysler Europe, through its ownership of the Rootes Group, was able to ship over Hillman Avanger subcompacts for sale in the US market. This would have made sense... if Chrysler hadn't already been selling rebadged Mitsubishi Colt Galants (as Dodge Colts) and Simca 1100s as (Simca 1204s) in its American showrooms. Few bought the Cricket, despite its cheery ad campaign. So, what's the badge-engineered car you find most confounding? Nismo mashes it up with Sentra 370Z and Altima GT-R
Mon, 11 Aug 2014Nismo was a tuning division once content (or required) to restrict itself to just one or two models at a time, but these days Nissan is taking the gloves off and allowing its motorsport department to tune just about everything's it's got.
Now in its thirtieth year, Nismo tunes versions of the GT-R, 370Z, Juke and Versa Note, and will soon be working its magic on the Sentra and European-market Qashqai and Pulsar. And that's not even taking into account its considerable racing programs. At this rate, Nismo is going to run out of vehicles to tune pretty quickly, so what has it done? Invent new ones!
No, we're afraid that Nissan is not letting its Nismo division produce its own stand-alone product, but it has released two sets of amusing renderings combining two vehicles into one. One depicts a GT-R crossed with a Teana sedan (better known in these parts at the Altima), while the other crosses a Sentra with a 370Z.
Nissan NV200 finds new work as ambulance, Gibson guitar repair truck
Thu, 28 Mar 2013We live in a world now where not every police cruiser and taxi is a Ford Crown Victoria, not every executive car is a Lincoln Town Car and not every ambulance is based on a Ford Econoline van. Vehicles like the new Nissan NV200 are making inroads into the service, livery and emergency vehicle markets, and we've got a couple cases in point to share.
The first one is a fleet of 30 new ambulances based on the heavier-duty NV2500 chassis. They are entering the Mexican Red Cross fleet of emergency vehicles this year after performing well in pilot tests last year. The Mexican Red Cross says it receives 1,200,000 ambulance service requests per year, so the mettle of these new machines will be tested in a hurry.
The second example is less useful for life-saving, but may save a guitar from going to the scrap heap. Called the Gibson NV200 Mobile Repair & Restoration Van, it can take the services of an authorized Gibson rep anywhere they're needed to repair or restore an axe in need. The van features a whole aesthetic designed to evoke the classic Gibson look, with wood veneer and shades of brown and black used throughout. There's a guitar rack that holds four instruments, a sliding 56-inch long repair table, toolbox, genuine Gibson stools and a sound system by Gibson Pro Audio.
