2006 NISSAN MURANO I am selling this car for a friend who has ran into a little financial difficulty. It has been driven daily by his wife for the past 4 years and serviced regularly. The car runs and drives like new but does have a few minor dents and scratches in it. Nothing you wouldn't expect to see on a car that is almost 8 years old. The car has power windows and locks and the A/C is ice cold. It also has cd player and cruise control and power mirrors. Everything functions just as it should. There are no check engine lights on and the engine and transmission work just as they should. ENGINE : 3.5 V6 TRANS. : Automatic DRIVE TRAIN : FWD INTERIOR CONDITION : GOOD PAINT : GOOD ( has some scratches & dents, see photos ) TIRES : Fair ( about 65% tread remaining ) GLASS : Great ( no cracks or chips ) I have drove this car personally before making this listing and it runs and drives like new. I have not noticed any leaks or funny noises or anything else wrong with it. However it is due for an oil change. THE BAD : The two front windows on this car will not roll down. The owner told me that he is pretty sure the driver side needs a new motor because before it completely quit working you would have to help it up and down. He said the passenger side window just quit working out of the blue. He said he had called the Nissan dealership to get an estimate on what it would cost to fix them and they told him it would cost 385.00 to put new motors in them. (this is what I was told by the owner, It may cost more or less with your mechanic, its not a guaranteed quote.) Other than the two front windows not working there is nothing else mechanically wrong with this car. The rearview mirror was broke off the car when the owner brought it up here for me to sell and we gorilla glued it back on. It seems to be holding good but I cant guarantee how long it will last.
I am selling this car for a friend and I am not the owner of it. I have made this description to the best of my ability by driving this car for about 30 min. and from what the owner has told me about it. Nissan Titan Wounded Warrior project lands in time for Veteran's Day
Tue, 11 Nov 2014We last featured the crowdsourced Project Titan pickup back in September, back when Nissan revealed that its big, bruising custom pickup would take to the wilds of Alaska with a pair of veterans from the Wounded Warrior Project at the wheel.
Now, their journey across the wilds has been fully revealed as part of a 22-minute short film. David Guzman and Kevin McMahon are the pilots of the brutish truck, and while the film is ostensibly focused on the journey and the challenges that come with it, the release of the video on Veterans Day (Remembrance Day or Armistice Day, depending on where you're from), gives some indication to the dominant theme of the story - recovery.
The two travel across Alaska in the Titan on different missions, working with both veterans and civilians afflicted with post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as supporters of the Wounded Warrior Project. From the avalanche-surviving photographer who's suffering from PTSD to an Air Force veteran who routinely takes recovering vets on fishing trips, the pair experience the many efforts at recovery and support throughout the course of the missions and their journey.
What happens to Renault-Nissan after Ghosn is gone?
Tue, Dec 30 2014Carlos Ghosn is a very, very busy man. Like, really busy. As in, he heads up three automakers (and their subsidiaries), running facilities in 68 countries and selling vehicles in 170 different markets across the globe. He flies over 300,000 miles per year and works 15 to 16 hours a day, just to manage an alliance between the Japanese and French that's responsible for an expected $140 billion in sales this year alone. The Chairman and CEO of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, Ghosn has managed a number of remarkable feats during his time at both automakers, but there are some that are questioning how much longer the 60-year-old exec can handle the punishing nature of his responsibilities. According to Fortune, six months ago Ghosn signed a four-year contract to continue running Renault, while his tenure at Nissan will continue until at least 2017. Beyond that, though, the future is rather murky, and it's made worse by the high-level turnover that Renault-Nissan has experienced over the past few years, losing execs like Carlos Tavares, Johan de Nysschen and Andy Palmer. Renault planning a Tata Nano rival. Again.
Wed, 28 Nov 2012Four years ago, Renault confirmed that it would partner with India's Bajaj Auto to develop a rival to the Tata Nano. At the time, as everyone waited for the Tata Nano to arrive, you could have used a Richter scale to measure the tremors the executive suites of any automaker with an interest in the low end of emerging markets. Then the Nano, still the cheapest car in the world, didn't sell so well - at the end of last year its sales were just six percent of its most conservative projections - and everyone seemed content to let Tata spend the money to figure out if there really was a market for the cheapest car in the world.
Renault believes there is, kind of. Automotive News Europe reports that it will partner with Nissan to build two low-priced cars for emerging markets, one for €3,000 ($3,888 U.S.) and another for €5,000 ($6,400 U.S.). The price of the least expensive offering is nearly $1,400 more than a Nano, which costs $2,500, and that can't be considered a small sum in comparison. But one of the hindsight knocks on the Nano has been that even in emerging markets buyers don't want a car whose biggest lure is that it is cheap; they'd rather give their aspirations a bit more of a workout.
Renault's offerings are scheduled to hit the non-Western market in late 2014, which is coincidentally the same year that will see the return of the budget-minded and emerging-market-specific Datsun nameplate. They'll be built in Renault facilities in Chennai, India, with no mention made of Bajaj this time around.
