FOR SALE IS A 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA SE WITH A 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION

VEHICLE HAS A CLEAN TITLE AND HAS NEVER BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS

I AM NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER

THE CAR IS ADULT DRIVEN AND IS AN EVERYDAY DRIVEN CAR

THE MILES ON THE ODOMETER ARE MOSTLY HIGHWAY COMMUTING MILES

THE VEHICLE IS UP TO MAINTENANCE AND JUST HAD AN OIL CHANGE WITH FULLY SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL AT 104,XXX MILES

NEW MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR DONE AT 103,500 MILES

THE TRANSMISSION IS 100% AND THE CLUTCH IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE.  CLUTCH CABLE HAS BEEN UPGRADED TO BRAIDED STEEL TO PROVIDE OPTIMAL SHIFTS AND CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT.  RESERVOIR HAS BEEN BLED AND SERVICED.

INTERIOR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION
No drinks or food has ever been spilled.  Cloth is well maintained even though I rarely carry passengers.  No cuts or holes, and cloth is soft and in original condition.

FRONT END & HOOD I WOULD SAY IS ABOUT AN HONEST 6/10
Due to the 3 puncture holes on the right side and the small rock chips on the hood and the rough surface due to bugs.  Holes can be popped back out, but requires removing the bumper.  The headlights are bright and the bulbs are about 5,000 miles old.  The glass itself just needs to be restored, which I personally have not have the tools and time to do, myself.

RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR I WOULD SAY AN HONESY 9/10
Not because of any dents or marks, but because part of the right side would be the right side of the front bumper and the right side of the rear end bumper that has a scrape.  No scuffs or marks or dings are visible.

REAR END AND TRUNK I WOULD SAY WOULD BE AN HONEST  7/10
The rear spoiler, I believe, was added by the previous owner.  I don't think the paint would be flaking off if it had come straight from the factory with it.  The right side of the bumper has that scrape, too.

LEFT SIDE OF CAR I WOULD SAY WOULD BE AN HONEST  8.5/10
Small ding near the gas tank. Looks like a pore, though. and then since it is also a part of the front bumper which is a 6/10

TOP OF CAR I WOULD SAY WOULD BE AN HONEST 6/10, ALSO
I know it shows some signs of rust and it is self explanatory.  It is not spreading though.  It has been that way since we got the car in 2006.

OVERALL EXTERIOR RATING IS 7.3/10
Reasonable rating considering the car is almost 10 years old

Mechanically, the car has no leaks, no slip, no odd squeaking sounds, no knock from the engine and strong, strong power, torque, and response.  Accelerates like  beast!
I always pumped Shell V-Power 93 octane in the car with Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner.  Premium gas was pumped every single time, no matter how expensive!

In the city in this car, shifting before 3000 rpms I can get 21mpg, easy.  Shifting before 2000 rpms I can get 23mpg.  Driving on the highway, I get 27 mpg.  For long periods of time, I can get 31 mpg.  On a full tank of gas and religiously driving like an old man, the whole tank will last me 13 days! And thats commuting 40 miles/day.  The range I get with a full tank, approx. 19 gallons, I can get 333 miles on the computer, but realistically, I drive about 500+ miles before the tank is gone!

In my opinion, a manual transmission is about 30% more efficient than your traditional automatic due to your selected shift points when driving conservatively.

TRANSMISSION IS A HANDS DOWN 9/10
Reason I can not give it a perfect 10 is because it is not brand new.  Unlike automatic transmissions, manual transmissions don't develop jerky gears, hard shifts, or any type of obnoxious shifting.  Reason being because the driver is responsible for how comfortable the shifting is.  The driver engages the gears MANUALLY.  The transmission is in great shape and in my opinion this car has the ability to accelerate more smoothly, effectively, and efficiently than any other car.  The transmission and clutch life is all dependent on the driver.  I do not have the time or money to replace clutch, so believe me, I take the time to properly shift and engage all gears so that I do not develop any wear, tear, or fatigue to the internals.

COPIES OF MOST RECENT SERVICE RECORDS CAN BE INCLUDED IF REQUESTED AND CAN BE OBTAINED.

OWNERS MANUAL INCLUDED

Nissan Note getting a little louder with Nismo versions this fall

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

Nissan's Nismo performance division has been getting more chances to shine recently with tuned models like the Juke Nismo RS and GT-R Nismo. But its latest creation moves closer to the bottom of the Japanese brand's lineup to make a hot hatch out of the (Versa) Note.
At least in Japan, the new model is due this fall, and Nismo is keeping a lot of the details about its latest creation a secret for now. What we do know is that it'll be available in two trims - the Note Nismo and the sportier Nismo S. "The development concept of this model was to build a car that makes you want to keep driving, no matter where your destination may be," said the division's chief product specialist, Hiroshi Tamura, in the company's announcement.
Aesthetically, the Note Nismo looks the way a tuned Nissan should, with the division's signature red trim outlining the car. It also wears a new, mesh grille, lower air dam, red side sills and rear spoiler. Inside, the S gets standard sport seats with full Recaro buckets as an option. Nissan didn't release technical specs for either version, but it promises that the S also gets a tuned engine with a five-speed manual.

Nissan alters all CVTs to act less like a stretched rubberband

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Among automotive enthusiasts, no one seems to hold a neutral opinion when it comes to continuously variable transmissions. CVTs are either praised for their ability to boost fuel economy or chided for their occasionally poor driving dynamics. Nissan is among the masters of these un-shifting gearboxes in the US, and it uses them in many vehicles in its lineup. However, for the 2015 model year, several models are getting a software update to make their CVTs a bit more like a conventional automatic.
To give drivers the option of feeling gearshifts while on the road, Nissan is adding its D-Step Shift Logic feature to the CVTs in multiple vehicles. Steve Powers, Nissan's senior manager of powertrain performance, told Autoblog the system forces the transmission to "hold a ratio and then shift" to simulate the way that a traditional automatic would. It's simply a change in software, but the company "can't do it to older CVTs," he said, because it would require changes to transmission logic, as well. According to Automotive News, the upgrade is coming to the 2015 Versa, Versa Note (pictured above), Sentra, V6-equipped Altima, Pathfinder and Quest. "We're rolling it out to all programs," said Powers.
Interestingly, buyer perception appears to be pushing the upgrade. John Curl, a Nissan North America regional product manager, told Automotive News that the decision to add the tech partially comes because some owners are bothered that the CVTs aren't changing gears. According to Powers, D-Step "avoids the rubber band feel," that many drivers didn't like. The different sensation of these transmissions seems like something consumers would notice during the test drive, or that the salesperson would inform them about. The same issue cropped up last year when the company was facing customer satisfaction problems among new buyers customers' unfamiliarity with the gearboxes.

Nissan's Dacia Duster-based Terrano revealed

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

The new Nissan Terrano has appeared in production form after an apparent August 20 launch in India, but the small sport utility vehicle remains sadly aloof from the US market. We've had our eyes on the Terrano ever since we learned it would be produced as an upscale alternative to the Dacia Duster on which it's based, but currently Nissan has no plans to import it here. Blame safety and perhaps emissions laws - the Duster was never designed for our market.
Even with these less-than-high resolution images, it's clear that the beyond the obvious badges, Nissan's signature trapezoidal grille and a slightly altered rear end with new taillights are the biggest visual clues that this is the Terrano, but those with astute eyes will also notice a slightly redesigned hood and blacked-out door pillars instead of the Duster's body-colored items. Either way, it looks to be a handsome, low-cost little brute - the sort of simple and rugged SUV that's hard to come by in today's marketplace.
