North Tonawanda, New York, United States

Up for auction is a 2004 Nissan Maxima 3.5SE. The car is in overall decent shape for the year. The car runs and drives great with no lights or issues. The car only has 30,865 miles on it so its like a new car still. The brakes are in good shape wit lots of life left. The front tires have about 45% tread remaining and the rear tires have about 75% tread left. The transmission shifts smooth as its supposed to. The outside of the car is in decent shape it does have some scratches and a few dings here and there to be expected of a used car. The rear bumper has clear coat peeling on it from sun over the years but would be a inexpensive fix to have someone repaint it and make it look like new again. The only rust on the car is above the windshield there is a bit of rust that started but again it would be a easy fix to have a paint shop sand it quick and touch up the paint. I bought the car from a local municipality that used it for a supervisors car so the maintenance was kept up on it and wasn't driven much so that is the reason for the low mileage. When I bought the car they told me they serviced them every 3000 miles. They also told me that the cars sit a lot so that is the reason for the paint peeling on rear bumper due to the sun. The interior of the car is in good shape with no tears or smells. The car has all the options in it and also has the see through roof glass that is a neat option on it. Overall this is a nice looking car that is nice to drive and well maintained. The car is sold as is where is and buyer is responsible for pickup or arranging shipping. A deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours of auction close and remainder must be paid within 5 days. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will get back to you asap.

Google's new Android Autos OS unveiled, will be in cars this year [w/video]

Wed, 25 Jun 2014

Connected cars are coming en-masse. We know this much. How, though, remains something of an open question, especially as two of the world's largest tech companies are preparing to battle for control of your car's dashboard. On the one hand, we have Apple and its CarPlay system. And now, we know what Google has been working on with Auto Link.
Its new name is Android Auto, and yes, it's based off the Android architecture that is the primary challenger to Apple's iOS mobile operating system. Announced at Google's I/O conference today, Android Auto functions similarly to CarPlay - owners will need to plug their smartphones into their cars to access the full breadth of capability.
In Android Auto's case, that means a wealth of voice controls to limit distracted driving. Google's marquee apps will be available when the interface arrives in production models later this year, including Google Play Music, Google Maps and voice-activated texting and text playback. Meanwhile, developers will be able to begin designing custom apps for the new system via an upcoming software development kit.

Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet being phased out, no replacement planned

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

Over the years, I've been given many nicknames - a few of them have even been repeatable around small children. One such moniker is "Mr. Other Makes," a title given to me because of my predilection for sifting through eBay Motors seeking out automotive misfits and orphans. I've got a soft spot for the dreamers and automakers who take big chances on beancounter-enraging flights of fancy.
I count Nissan among that bunch, because for every safe-as-houses Altima or Sentra that rolls out of its factory gates, the Japanese automaker has often secreted away a little funding for white-space niche vehicles that any sane person wouldn't expect to pencil out. Some, like the Juke, have proven to be massive hits. Others, like the GT-R, have become icons. And then there are models like the Murano CrossCabriolet, a segment-bending mashup the likes of which we haven't seen since the AMC Eagle Sundancer.
Yesterday, upon revealing the new third-generation Murano ahead of its New York Auto Show debut, we reported "the writing appears to be on the wall" for the midsize crossover's novel convertible cousin. It appears we were right. Autoblog can now confirm that the CrossCabriolet will die at the end of this model year, and our source at Nissan tells us unequivocally, "there is no plan for a next-generation Murano CC."

2013 Nissan Pathfinder: January 2013

Wed, 23 Jan 2013

We've now had our long-term 2013 Nissan Pathfinder for about a month, and some impressions are starting to solidify, while others remain contentious among the team. Most notable among those contentious items is our Pathfinder's paint color, which was chosen by vote among the Autoblog team.
Dubbed Mocha Stone, it beat out Cayenne Red by a single vote. I was a Mocha Stone supporter and like it even more in person than on Nissan's configurator. It's a mature choice that can be comfortably placed in the grouping of silver, white and gray tones buyers routinely choose most often over all the colors of the rainbow offered on cars these days for the sake of attention. Staunch opponents of Mocha Stone on the team remain unswayed. Democracy is a difficult process, people.
