Selling this Nissan Maxima for my sister. It is a very solid and reliable vehicle that she would be keeping, if she hadn't had a child and opted to get an SUV. It is a car that is getting older, and is showing signs of wear, but mechanically is in excellent shape and needs nothing to be driven except for some new tires and an alignment. The engine runs great, but does burn some oil so you will want to check it once in a while. It has no warning lights or troublecodes, and doesn't leak any fluids. The a/c blows cold and the power windows and locks work fine. The cosmetic issues it has are very superficial, and could certainly be left alone for someone who just wants a good means of transportation, or could be fixed without too much trouble by someone with bodywork experience. The biggest eyesores are mainly just the bumper covers, and there are some scratches and chips around the car that could probably be considered normal for a car this age. There is some fading on the roof and top of the rear spoiler, and the other areas of any significance I tried to capture in the photos. Oh and there is a crack going across the bottom of the windshield. Again nothing crazy for a car this age, that couldnt be fixed by someone who likes wrenching if they wanted to. A very good car that will be missed.

Nissan to build Golf-fighter in Spain
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Nissan hasn't had a proper European entry in the ridiculously popular compact hatchback segment since it stopped offering its somewhat staid and uninspiring Almera (above) in 2006. According to Automotive News Europe, the new machine, which will not be called Almera, will be marketed against the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus - two extremely popular models in Europe. Production is slated to begin in July of 2014.
The new compact will be built in Barcelona, Spain, at the factory that currently builds the Pathfinder, Navara pickup and NV200 commercial van. An investment of $178 million will be made to assemble the compact car, and an additional $27 million will go to the plant to create more trucks and transmissions for electric vehicles.
The decision to invest in Spain comes after the automaker successfully renegotiated contracts with local unions. Similar talks are underway in France, where Nissan partner Renault is based, but as of yet no new agreements have been struck. Feel free to browse through the official press release below.
GT-R driver walks away from terrifying dragstrip accident
Tue, 17 Sep 2013With all-wheel drive, launch control and a dual-clutch transmission, the Nissan GT-R may be easier to manage than most supercars. But that doesn't mean that dragging one on a wet strip is a good idea.
Filmed at the Unlimited 500+ drag race in Moscow, Russia, this video depicts a pair of GT-Rs going head to head. But things didn't go quite as planned when the driver of one lost control of her twin-turbo supercar. We'll let the video below speak for itself, but thankfully it appears no one was hurt - an outcome that seems particularly remarkable in light of the fact that it appears that the driver was not wearing a fire suit or helmet.
Mitsubishi and Renault-Nissan expand partnership, US will get new sedan
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Mitsubishi and Renault-Nissan have just inked an alliance that might, hopefully, reverse the ailing fortunes of the Mitsubishi brand in the US market. The big chunk of news is that Mitsubishi will produce two Renualt-based models for sale in the US market, and that they'll be built at the Renault-Samsung factory in Busan, South Korea.
The plans call for a D-segment sedan to be followed by a C-segment offering. Based on the cars built at the Busan factory, that means Mitsubishi will be getting the SM5 and the SM3, a pair of handsome sedans that are based on Renault-Nissan's D and C platforms, respectively. These same platforms underpin a number of US market Nissans (not to mention a number of cars from Renault), namely the Pathfinder, Maxima, Quest and Murano for the D platform and the last-generation Rogue and Sentra for the C platform.
Besides the sedan production, Nissan and Mitsubishi will be expanding their joint-venture company, NMKV, which produces Kei cars for the Japanese market. A new, all-electric offering will be born from the partnership, likely based on a Kei car platform. The partnership between the three brands will also lead to increased sharing of technology, particularly relating to electric cars.
