2004 Nissan Armada SE 4x4.  Tons of power, air ride rear suspension.  5sp auto trans with tow mode.  Seats 8 adults comfortably.  Power drivers seat, power pedals, fold and tumble 2nd row seats that also fold flat.  Fold flat 3rd row seat.     The good:  new radiator, alternator, air ride compressor, extra trans cooler, extra trans cooler gauge, exhaust manifolds, transmission rebuilt, front/rear brakes done within the last 2 years, tinted windows, waag front grill guard.  Runs and drives great.
The Bad: body has a few dings and scratches.  A/C stopped blowing cold, I have not had it looked at yet.  The seats have water stains that don't look pretty, that's why the seat covers are on there.
My family and I have driven this SUV from eastern Pa. to central Il. and back several times with no issues.  It does great in the snow, just switch it to AWD or 4hi and go.  Besides the interior room, the Armada has a 9000lb tow rating.  It pulled my 18ft cargo trailer with no problems.  Due to a military move we are now living in Columbus, Ohio.  I sold the trailer, and no longer need the SUV.  Test drives are welcome, come and check it out before you bid.

Nissan giving away Leaf-shaped air fresheners that smell like the future

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We had to check our calendar to make sure it didn't read April 1, but since it's not April Fool's Day, we have to assume that Nissan of Europe really has created a special air freshener scent to give away this Christmas. To create this original fragrance, Nissan looked to Dr. George Dodd, a master perfumer and aroma academy scientist who looks a tiny bit like Santa Claus (we seriously aren't making this stuff up).
Like a mad scientist, Dr. Dodd went to work blending chemicals and fragrances to design a smell that matches the Leaf's Earth-friendly, zero-emission attitude. Once the "scent of the future" is transformed into the lovely Santa-driving, Leaf-shaped air freshener you see above, Nissan of Europe will be giving one to its employees, Leaf customers and "select electric car fans." Sadly, EV - and scent - enthusiasts here in the US will be stuck with the tried-and-true pine tree air freshener.
We don't want to ruin exactly what Dodd finally came up with for the "scent of the future," but you can find out for yourselves in the video and press release posted below.

Nissan does its best Google Glass impression with 3E headgear [w/video]

Wed, 13 Nov 2013

The jury may still be out on whether it'll be legal to drive with Google Glass on your nose, but that doesn't mean automakers are going to sit around waiting to see which way the wind blows in one jurisdiction or another. Mercedes-Benz, for example, is already working on ways to integrate its infotainment system into Google Glass, but Nissan is taking things a step further by developing its own wearable tech.
The device is called Nissan 3E, and we don't have much information to go on at this point - just a couple of images, a terse press release and the highly stylized (and rather painful-looking) video below. The Japanese automaker lists internet connectivity and communication as the primary features. But we'd have to assume that, if an automaker is developing it, the device would have some relevance to, you know... driving.
The possibilities are endless, extending from turn-by-turn directions and track information to vehicle metrics and intuitive control of the car's auxiliary controls. We'll have to wait until we get to Tokyo to find out more, but between this and the smartwatch concept it revealed in Frankfurt, Nissan seems to be on a bit of a gadget streak lately.

Nissan rolls Versa Note inside world's largest zorb [w/video]

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

With features like lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring and moving object detection bundled into its Safety Shield suite, Nissan touts the Versa Note as among the safer vehicles on the road. And to highlight that, the Japanese automaker has taken its diminutive hatchback Zorbing.
Zwhat now, you ask? Zorbing. It's a sport (really more of a recreational activity, if you ask us) that involves getting into a giant inflatable ball, rolling down a slope and, well... that's about the extent of it. It's the same thing we did on hills as kids, only with more plastic. And ridicule.
The CarZorb which Nissan had crafted for the Note measures 60 feet around and weighs a metric ton. Nissan tested the device, which took two months to make, at a "top secret military training facility in the UK," then placed the hatchback inside and rolled it down a hill, all for the sake of the two-minute video clip below. So we hope you enjoy.
