2006 Nissan Altima 2.5 Sl on 2040-cars
Saint Petersburg, Florida, United States
Nice 2006 Altima with 86,400 miles. Has upgraded stereo/DVD player with 6" display (Pd nearly $1000 for unit and speakers). Car was making a noise from the rear end so I had my mechanic look at it. It was the rear hub assembly that had gone bad. He told me it was quite common for these to fail at around 80-90k miles so I had it replaced ($450). Occasionally the car, instead of starting instantly, would take 5-10 seconds. Mechanic said that it was the camshaft and crankshaft sensors (and again said this is very common on these car at 80-90k). Had both replaced for $400. Car also has four new tires ($450), with less than 800 miles wear. I have all paperwork for repairs and tires. Air conditioning is ice cold, sunroof works perfectly and has no leaks. Car runs and drives perfectly. Keep in mind, if you're looking at other 2.5 Altima's, and they have over 80,000 miles, you will be looking at doing repairs that have already been done to this car. The rear seat has two or three places that have about 1" tears in the leather. I run charter fishing yachts and had some equipment in the back that caused this. I have seen infomercials that sell a product that they say will repair this to almost new condition, needless to say I haven't seen them since I had a use for the product. The paint on the car is very good with the exception of the hood. If you look very closely you can see that it is slightly less glossy than the rest of the car. It also has a dent about the size of a quarter. Call me at 727-688-FISH (3474) if I can be of further help |

Worker killed at Nissan Tennessee plant
Sat, 27 Apr 2013A worker has died at the Nissan assembly plant in Smyrna, TN following an accident. According to The Detroit News, the tragedy happened Thursday and involved a large electric panel that fell while it was being moved. The victim was not a Nissan employee, he was a worker for Michigan-based supplier Complete Automation.
Nissan has not released the name of the deceased, but has vowed to cooperate with the authorities investigating the accident. The Murfreesboro Post notes that this is the second death at the plant in recent years - in 2012, a transport truck driver was killed after his rig rolled forward, crushing him between his cab and trailer.
Nissan recalling 13k Versa Note hatchbacks
Wed, 31 Jul 2013Nissan is recalling 13,000 of its new 2014 Versa Note hatchbacks due to an issue with various bolts used to assemble the vehicle. Considering the Versa Note was only recently put on sale, this news must be driving Nissan nuts (we couldn't resist), but presumably the lion's share of these vehicles are still at dealerships.
According to a report from The Detroit News, there are two separate issues. The first has to do with the latches for the rear seats, which include bolts that may not be strong enough to keep the seats upright in the event of a crash. The second relates to the bolts that attach the body to the undercarriage. Apparently they may not have been tightened properly, and in rare cases may be missing altogether. No injuries or accidents have been reported from either issue.
Owners are being told to report to dealers for the fixes, with notifications coming in mid-August.
Nissan Patrol modified for backseat drivers
Thu, 19 Sep 2013The McLaren F1 is most famous for holding the production-car top-speed record for over a decade, but it also made a name for itself by being one of the only production cars with a central driving position, a feature that's extremely rare. But in the world of custom cars, anything can happen. We're not sure if Dubai-based shop King of Customs was inspired by McLaren or is poking fun at backseat drivers (perhaps the builder or the commissioner just has quite the imagination), but its custom fifth-generation Nissan Patrol (the foundation of the Infiniti QX80 in the US) sports utility vehicle takes the term "central-driving position" to the next level. In the Patrol's case, "central" means that the driver's seat and controls are located in the second-row seating area.
It's a pretty clean conversion - if pointless - and we have to wonder how safe it is to drive such a vehicle. The front seats are now passenger seats, and the front airbags have been taken out and replaced with screens, according to King of Customs' Facebook page. So if the driver's view outside is impaired and the SUV is involved in a crash, you'd better hope nobody is up front. The screens on the backs of the front-seat headrests at least provide views from the side-view mirrors via cameras, the shop claims.
Watch the video below, marvel at the extreme impracticality of it all and see the thing drive.
