2002 Nissan Altima Excellent Condition 5 Speed Engine Work Cheap Low Reserve on 2040-cars
Midlothian, Virginia, United States
"Steal me away!" Problem: Engine repair or replacement needed. Benefit: Top condition inside and out, everything works, vehicle professionally detailed throughout, not four but five brand new tires. Solution: A top quality vehicle at a wholesale price, no reported accidents. The vehicle will be listed once. Here is the story! I ask that you read the story before bidding or buying. I’m a marine engineer and live in Virginia. I purchased this car off of my crewmember from Maine. The young
man 31, paid over $5900.00 for the car.
He purchased the vehicle to go from Maine to Mississippi. The car had
the check engine light on upon purchase. The dealership said it was nothing and
he got tired of calling them. He continued to drive the car and finally the car
overheated. He went ahead and had the engine rebuilt by a back yard mechanic.
The mechanic charged him an additional $3500.00 for the rebuild. He replaced the tires with 5, not 4, new
tires. He drove the car to work
from Maine to Mississippi and it ran great. Upon his return home, the vehicle
started to burn a couple of quarts of oil 1/2 way into the trip. In Staunton, Virginia he heard engine
noise and brought it to the Nissan Dealership. The dealer told him that the
crank and/or the bearings require overhaul. He sold the car to me and I had it
towed to my mechanic and detailer in Powhatan, VA. Used engines can be found for a low as $500.00 with a warranty. I just do not have time to fix the car. Engine is running and quiet once you slightly accelerate you hear noise. Email me if you are looking for a free link to the vehicle history report. No accidents. Primarily a one owner car.As you can see from the pictures, the vehicle is in excellent shape but will need an engine swap or repair. Well, that is the story. Everything else has been checked, windows, AC, Stereo CD, Stick Shift, New Tires (new spare tire plus the factory fake tire neatly in the trunk). “He who hesitates is lost.” Good Luck! Note: Please factor in an additional $199.00 non-refundable pay pal deposit, or no deal. Example: Agreed upon price + $199.00 |

37K miles in a 1967 Datsun Roadster
Tue, 11 Mar 2014When we think of comfy, long-distance road cars, there are a few obvious choices. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley Continental GT or, assuming fuel efficiency isn't paramount, a Range Rover are all good options for a road trip. But what if that road trip was 37,000 miles? Maybe something more reliable but still comfortable, then, like a Honda Accord. What about a 1967 Datsun Roadster?
As insane as it sounds, Scott Fisher is doing just that, running a Datsun 1600 Roadster across North America and racking up 13,500 miles in his first three months on the road. His total journey will see him pile over 37,000 miles on his red convertible. The car is lightly modified, but most of the work is for the sake of reliability and comfort, with a five-speed manual 'box, an upgraded radiator and electronic ignition.
Fisher's trip hasn't been all smooth, with a few typical bits of trouble. He also ran into some deer in Utah, quite literally, clipping one of the animals, which delivered quite a bit of damage to the passenger's front fender (hence the rear three-quarter view in our lead shot). Still, the car seems to be holding up well, as shown in this latest video from Petrolicious.
Pickup sales may hit 2M units for first time since 2007
Sat, 21 Sep 2013Even as fuel prices creep back up, trucks are still a hot item among new-vehicle shoppers. To see how popular pickup trucks still are, you don't have to look any further than how much effort automakers put into the continual one-upmanship of their trucks. Backing this fact up, USA Today is reporting that the segment could top two million sales this year - a total not matched since 2007, though still far from the pre-recession, three-million-unit levels.
Through August, the Ford F-Series continues to be the segment leader with almost 500,000 units sold, but the Chevy Silverado (328,269), Ram 1500 (234,642), GMC Sierra (122,232) and Toyota Tacoma (110,293) are all seeing at least 20-percent sales increases, helping to account for around 1.44 million truck sales so far this year - not including possible outliers like the Suzuki Equator and Chevy Avalanche.
This year alone, General Motors has completely redesigned its fullsize trucks, Ram and Toyota have significantly updated their offerings, the next-gen Ford F-150 will be out next year and Nissan is promising an all-new Titan around the same time with an eventual Cummins diesel under the hood. It would seem, then, that truck sales are poised to continue their upward trend.
Recharge Wrap-up: Nissan Leaf in Puerto Rico, BMW i3 REx tax-free in NJ, BC2BC cancelled [UPDATE]
Tue, Jul 22 2014*UPDATE: Nissan has released a video of the Leaf in Puerto Rico, so we've embedded it below. Envia Systems will develop battery technology for United States Advanced Battery Consortium (USABC), a subsidiary of the United States Council for Automotive Research (USCAR). The $7.7 million contract, co-funded by the US Department of Energy (DOE), involves a 36-month development program focusing on high-energy cathode and anode material for lithium-ion batteries and pouch cells for electric vehicles. The goal, of course, is to create better energy storage for less money in an effort to make commercial EVs more efficient and affordable. For the DOE, this also equates to energy security, energy independence and national security. Read more in the press release at the bottom of the page. The US and China have agreed to work together more closely on EVs, energy and climate issues. US Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz went to Beijing for the sixth US-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue to meet with leaders. While there, Moniz and Wu Xinxiong of China's National Energy Administration (NEA) signed a memorandum of understanding allowing the DOE and NEA to share information regarding oil reserves. The groups will meet yearly to learn more about how each other manages petroleum stockpiles and policy. Moniz also met with Minister Miao Wei of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and signed an MOU to cooperate on electric vehicles and "related technologies," including the "inter-operability of electric vehicles." Read more at the Energy Department website. August's BC2BC all-electric vehicle rally, billed as the largest gathering of electric vehicles, has been cancelled. The event, which was to include a drive up the entire coast from Mexico to British Columbia with smaller events along the route, failed to bring in the needed sponsorship to hold the rally for its third year. A Facebook post from organizer Tony Williams also cited loss of venue and lack of support from automakers - "particularly Nissan and Tesla" - as hardships. The event was scheduled to take place August 9 through 17, with only battery electric vehicles invited to take part - no plug-in hybrids or range-extended vehicles. Williams said he'd only try a similar event in the future if sponsorship were provided up front. Read more at Green Car Reports. The Nissan Leaf will finally go on sale in Puerto Rico.
