I RECENTLY BOUGHT A NEW CAR AS I AM APPROACHING RETIREMENT AND HAVE DECIDED TO SELL MY CURRENT VEHICLE. THE CAR IS IN GOOD WORKING CODITION. I HAVE ALL WORK ORDER RECEIPTS AND ALL MAINTENANCE RECORDS TO GO ALONG WITH SALE OF THE CAR. THE INTERIOR IS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE AND THE EXTERIOR HAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. SOME PAINT ON THE FRONT BUMPER IS CHIPPED/FLAKEY, OTHER THAN THAT ITS IN FAIR TO GOOD BODY CONDITION. THE ENGINE IS IN GOOD CONDITION NO KNOCKING OR NOISES AND HAS BEEN FULLY SERVICED ONTIME AND IN GOOD ORDER. I RECENTLY PUT NEW TIRES ON IT, WITH LESS THAN 5000 MILES ON THEM. THE HIGH MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE IS DO TO MY FIELD OF WORK AND IS 90% HIGHWAY MILEAGE, APPROXIMATLEY 197,000 MILES. THIS CAR GOES TYPICALLY TO 250,000 OR MORE AND CAN BE A GREAT FIRST CAR COMMUTER CAR OR DELIVERY VEHICLE. EVERYTHING ELECTRIC WORKS RADIO WINDOWS HEAT A/C ETC.CAR ALSO COMES WITH AN AUTOMATIC STARTER FOR THOSE COLD JERSEY WINTERS AND HOT JERSEY SUMMERS.

Please note the car had some damage in the past which was fixed by a certified autobody shop, being the age of the vehicle and cost of repair it was noted as a rebuild on title, but I can provide evidence that it was done over 80K miles ago and if there had been a problem or issue it would have happened already.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COME INSPECT THE VEHICLE WITH AN APPOINTMENT AND BRING ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE TO THE TABLE AND I WILL ANSWER THEM AS BEST AS POSSIBLE.

KBB PRICING SAYS IN FAIR CONDITION THE CAR IS WORTH $2350 AND IN GOOD CONDITION IT IS WORTH $2766. I BELIEVE FOR THE AGE OF THE CAR AND THE LITTLE TO NO NEED FOR ANY ADDITIONAL MAINTENANCE THE CAR IS FAIRLY PRICED AT $2300 OR B/O BUT PLEASE DO NOT INSULT ME WITH A LOW BALL OFFER. ALTHOUGH I AM WILLING TO HEAR ALL REASONABLE AND FAIR OFFERS.

PS THERE IS A CHECK EGINE LIGHT FOR A VACUUM HOSE WHICH DOES NOT AFFECT THE DRIVEABILITY OF THE VEHICLE BUT AESTHETICALLY YOU MAY WANT TO REPAIR IT, AT A COST NEAR OR AROUND $200.

2013 Nissan Pathfinder: May 2013

Fri, 07 Jun 2013

Despite the snow-capped photos you see here, our long-term Pathfinder has been the subject of some proper pre-summer lovin' here in metro Detroit (we're working on a new gallery). Now that the warm weather has hit Michigan, many of our staffers have eagerly grabbed the keys to our big, brown Nissan for road trips all over the place. And the Pathfinder has indeed proven itself to be quite the worthy long-distance hauler, as editors John Neff and Seyth Miersma have already experienced.
This time around, a couple of our colleagues from AOL Autos put hundreds of miles on our trusty Nissan. And while everyone agrees that the Pathfinder is a solid vehicle for the task of road tripping, there are a couple of specific pros and cons that have been mentioned on several occasions.

'Car Wars' says Ford, Honda to pick up share, Fiat-Chrysler ambitions downplayed

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

Don't look for a tremendous shifts in automotive market share over the next three years because it might not be coming. That's at least according to the annual Car Wars report by John Murphy, from Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Research.
In the report's analysis of automakers' market share from 2013 to 2017, it predicts only small changes among the major companies. Ford and Honda see the biggest positive effect with an estimated 0.5 percent increase in their shares over the next three years; to 16.2 percent and 10.3 percent respectively. On the flip side, European automakers and Nissan are expected to lose 0.2 percent each to fall to 8.3 percent and 7.8 percent each respectively. The rest of the industry is predicted to hold steady as it is now.
The biggest loser in that prediction might be Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles. The report certainly throws a wet blanket on its plan for significant gains in market share. Murphy told The Detroit News that the company's goal was "almost unattainable."

Junkyard Gem: 1996 Nissan Quest XE with 338,549 miles

Sun, Jul 9 2023

When I hit the junkyard, I always look for vehicles with impressive final figures showing on their odometers. I find so many Hondas and Toyotas with better than 300,000 miles that I don't consider them especially noteworthy (the exception being super-low-spec cheap models, such as a Tercel or Civic VX), and it goes without saying that the bar is quite high for Mercedes-Benzes as well. It has been surprisingly difficult to find discarded Nissans that made it past the 300k mark; today's Junkyard Gem is just the fourth I've documented. The highest-mile junked Nissan I'd found prior to today's minivan is a 1994 Maxima with 364,238 miles, followed by a 1987 Maxima with 341,176 miles and a 1986 200SX with 309,222 miles. Keep in mind that Nissan didn't go to six-digit odometers on most of its US-market cars until the early 1980s, and then went to tough-to-read-in-the-junkyard electronic odometers in the early 2000s; this means the pool of potential high-mile Nissans is limited to about the 1983-2000 range of model years. Ford has just as much right to claim credit to this van's impressive mile total as does Nissan, since the Quest was a collaboration between Ford and Nissan that also produced the Mercury Villager; this van was built by Ford at the Ohio Assembly plant. The Quest/Villager platform was derived from the Maxima's, and the engine is pure Nissan: a 3.0-liter VG30 V6 rated at 151 horsepower. The only transmission available in the first-generation (1993-1999) Quest/Villager was a four-speed automatic. This one appears to have been sold new at Landrum Nissan in Pueblo. The rear glass has been painted flat black, possibly to keep prying eyes from seeing valuable cargo. The rear seats are long gone, so this van probably hauled cargo for much of its long life. The front interior seems to be in good shape. Why is this van here? There's body damage on the left rear and right front, suggesting a crash that may have bent the suspension past the worth-fixing threshold. Perhaps the crinkled metal just made this van too unsightly, or maybe some powertrain problem was the culprit. This content is hosted by a third party.
