2005 Nissan Xterra S 4.0l 4x4 (power & Utility Package) 21 Mpg Highway on 2040-cars
Rustburg, Virginia, United States
**Lower Reserve** I purchased this Xterra in 2005 brand new. It was a great purchase and I regret having to sell it. It was driven by me from 2005 until 2011, after which it became a secondary vehicle. The Nissan does great in all weather conditions. The car was located in Virginia, which has hot summers and cold winters. The 4x4 works great in mud and snow. I always kept a tow rope in the car when it snowed so I could help anyone that was stuck-which I did often. I am more than happy to discuss this vehicle with anyone interested. Please feel free to request pictures or information! My email is jfmanagementllc@gmail.com. This Xterra has much more character than Nissan's standard Xterra. After market adds include: Towing hitch, rubber floor mats, Alpine radio with iPod music and charger connection, Surco roof storage rack, brush guard with off-road light capability, tail-light guards, and two custom horns. One of the horns is an air horn, the other plays pre-recorded sounds. Kelley Blue Book Value: $8,200.00. The tires have under 1000 miles and the spare is in good condition. Below are a list of features included in the 2005 S-Model Xterra. -MECHANICAL & PERFORMANCE 4.0L DOHC V6 Engine 265 Horsepower 5-Speed Automatic Transmission Electronic-Brake force Distribution (EBD) 4WD System w/Electronically Controlled Transfer Case 4-Wheel Active Brake Limited Slip 5,000 lbs Towing Capacity 21.1 Gallon Fuel Tank -EXTERIOR FEATURES Roof Rack with Cross Bars Covered Gear Box 16" Aluminum Allow 5-spoke Wheels Rear Bumper Steps Front Tow Hook Dual Adjustable Outside Mirrors -INTERIOR FEATURES CFC-Free Air Conditioning AM/FM/CD Stereo w/6 Speakers Easy Clean Cargo Area w/Track Systems Rear Storage Area 8-Way Driver's Seat w/Height & Lumbar Adjusters Cloth Seat Fabric (4) 12-Volt DC Power Outlets Rear Glass Defroster -SAFETY Dual Stage Supplemental Front Air Bags Front-Seat Active Head Restraints Tire Pressure Monitor System Side-Door Guard Beams LATCH System (Lower Anchors & Tethers for CHildren) ADDITIONAL PACKAGES -POWER PACKAGE Power Windows, Locks and Mirrors Remote Keyless Entry (lost fob) Security System -UTILITY SYSTEM Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC-prevents road slips and keeps car moving straight) Fold-Flat Front Passenger Seat Step Rails First Aid Kit (never used) Splash Guards Body Side Molding Tow Package FUEL ECONOMY City 16 mpg Highway 21 mpg |

Nissan Leaf battery cells put through torture test, live to charge again
Sun, Mar 2 2014One minor chink in the armor of the Tesla Model S is that a small number have caught fire, once their battery packs were penetrated. Nissan Leaf drivers, however, might just be able to weather such an event without an ensuing CarBQ. Our evidence for such a claim? A video that has surfaced of cells from a Leaf pack undergoing a battery of torture tests (pun somewhat-ashamedly intended). Shared by folks at the Hybrid Auto Center in Las Vegas – who offer for sale, among other things, used Leaf lithium battery modules – the footage shows salvaged cells being brutally assaulted with a screwdriver, and later, a propane torch. Granted, these tests are not the same thing as flinging a piece of metal into a working pack at 70 miles per hour, but they do claim to show that a puncture does not always equal a fire. Oh, and don't try this at home. When pierced through by the flat head tool, there is no explosion or eruption of flame. Instead, a rather modest wisp of smoke shyly emerges as the electrolyte next to the shorted area of the fully-charged foil pouch reacts with the influx of oxygen. Again and again, the blade descends, until the cell is riddled with holes. No fire. Amazingly, when connected with a voltmeter afterward there are still plenty of signs of life, and when it is charged and discharged (off-camera), it reportedly suffers only a slight loss of charge capacity. The video goes on to show another cell attacked with open flame with similar results. While the demonstration is, perhaps, somewhat crude, the message it sends is loud and clear: lithium batteries can be safe and rather robust, despite some freak accidents. 2014 Nissan Dayz Roox is the littlest high-roof van you ever did see
Fri, 22 Nov 2013Even average production cars from Japan often seem very conceptual to US eyes. Throw in typical, nonsensical-quasi-English-words name like "Dayz Roox" and you'd be forgiven for thinking this Nissan box on wheels was still a designer's dream. But the fact is that the Nissan Dayz is a model currently on sale, and this Roox version is the latest take on the micro-van, which is a popular segment in Japan.
In fact, this generation of Dayz is the first minicar that Nissan has developed completely in-house, and the thing has been selling astoundingly well in its first stint on the market (30k units in month one month, says Nissan). So it's unsurprising that the company is looking to expand the range with a model that is more fully featured.
The Roox (we have no clue as to where that name came from, or what it means) would appear to be a high-roof version of the three-cylinder Dayz minicar - in fact Nissan goes so far as to call it an "Impressive Super Height Wagon." Features like automatic sliding doors, Around View Monitor and UV-insulated glass are all luxuries in kei-class car. The press release also specifies that the Roox is tall enough to swallow a 27-inch bicycle.
Nissan, Infiniti recall more than 130,000 vehicles for potential fuel leak
Tue, Dec 9 2014Nissan and its luxury brand, Infiniti, are set to recall 133,592 vehicles after discovering that fuel could leak out around the pressure sensor, potentially increasing the chances of a fire. While Nissan lists five nameplates in its recall, there are actually only three models affected by the improperly tightened fuel pressure sensor. They include the 2012 to 2014 Nissan Juke, as well as 2012 to 2015 Infiniti M56/Q70 sedans and QX56/QX80 SUVs. Nissan will begin notifying owners of affected vehicles soon, with the recall expected to officially kick off no later than January 26, 2015. Naturally, repairs will be conducted free of charge. Scroll down for the official bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. And stay tuned for more news coming out of the NHTSA offices today. In addition to Honda's expansion of its recall for vehicles with Takata-built airbag inflators, the regulatory body published a huge number of unrelated recalls this morning, helping to stack the total number of called-back vehicles even higher in these last weeks of 2014. Report Receipt Date: NOV 28, 2014 NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V683000 Component(s): FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE Potential Number of Units Affected: 133,592 Manufacturer: Nissan North America, Inc. SUMMARY: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 Nissan Juke, 2012-2013 Infiniti M56, QX56, and 2014-2015 Infiniti Q70, and QX80 vehicles. The fuel pressure sensors may not have been sufficiently tightened during production. As a result, the fuel pressure sensor may loosen with vehicle usage and cause a fuel leak. CONSEQUENCE: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could cause a vehicle fire. REMEDY: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pressure sensors, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on or before January 26, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
