2002 Nissan Xterra Se Sport Utility 4-door 3.3l on 2040-cars
Fayetteville, West Virginia, United States
This 2002, 4WD, manual transmission Nissan Xterra is a quality vehicle for its age, perfect vehicle for an outdoor life style. I purchased in in 2012 from the original owner in south western Pennsylvania. It does show signs of wear and tear from daily use. It rides really well; however, does need maintenance.
The muffler is rusted and showing signs of deterioration. The 1st gear does not engage, however due to the low gearing ratio I have been driving it without problem for the past 8 month, throughout the hills of West Virginia, in this condition (hill starts all). It is more than likely the first gear synchro and would need to rebuilt or replace the transmission if you want to address this issue but can be driven daily as is. The driver side seat has a 3 inch ripe at a seam and a cigarette burn from the previous owner -Has been a smoke-free environment since I have owned it (2 year). Features: AC Cruise Control Jet Black Finish Dark Tint Windows After Market HD Radio Recently replaced alternator, radiator and fuel pump/relay system Buyer will be responsible for pickup or shipping. I can deliver the vehicle with 100 miles of Fayetteville WV for $100. Payment: cash (in person) Pay Pal or cashier check. |

Ghosn: Restoring Mitsubishi's reputation is biggest challenge
Thu, May 12 2016After news that Mitsubishi falsified its fuel economy data on every vehicle it has sold in Japan since 1991, and the tumble in the company's value that followed, the troubled carmaker has an unlikely savior. Nissan has confirmed it will purchase over one third of Mitsubishi's stock, or 34 percent. The stake is valued at $2.2 billion. Ghosn says making Mitsubishi a part of the Renault-Nissan alliance will save billions in development costs. But the merger certainly isn't without challenges. "The biggest challenge is to support Mitsubishi changing itself and growing and being profitable and restoring its reputation," said Ghosn. Nissan is a natural partner for Mitsubishi, and since the fuel economy scandal escalated from discrepancies in the data regarding Mitsubishi-manufactured, Nissan-badged Japan-market vehicles, it makes sense for the company to sweep in and save the day. Nissan itself is partially owned by Renault, and Nissan has a 15-percent stake in the French automaker. Mitsubishi's chairman, Osamu Masuko says that the merger was inevitable, that it "would have happened one day" anyway, according to the New York Times. Carlos Ghosn, chairman of both Nissan and Renault, is confident they will be able to turn Mitsubishi's fortunes around. "We have the track record to make it work", Ghosn said, referring to the Renault-funded rescue of Nissan in the early 2000s. Related Video:
Worker killed at Nissan Tennessee plant
Sat, 27 Apr 2013A worker has died at the Nissan assembly plant in Smyrna, TN following an accident. According to The Detroit News, the tragedy happened Thursday and involved a large electric panel that fell while it was being moved. The victim was not a Nissan employee, he was a worker for Michigan-based supplier Complete Automation.
Nissan has not released the name of the deceased, but has vowed to cooperate with the authorities investigating the accident. The Murfreesboro Post notes that this is the second death at the plant in recent years - in 2012, a transport truck driver was killed after his rig rolled forward, crushing him between his cab and trailer.
Ghosn predicts autonomous cars on the roads by 2018, if laws allow
Thu, 05 Jun 2014Things appear to be going well inside Nissan's autonomous vehicle development program. Until now, the automaker believed that self-driving cars would be ready for major markets like the US by 2020. However, Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn is now speeding up that prediction to 2018 in some places, assuming that local laws are ready to accept the computer-controlled vehicles.
"The problem isn't technology, it's legislation, and the whole question of responsibility that goes with these cars moving around," said Ghosn in a speech in France recorded by Reuters. He predicted that the first sales could begin in France, Japan and the US by 2018 and expand elsewhere in 2020.
The alliance has been among the forefront of automakers working on self-driving cars. Nissan has an autonomous Leaf (pictured above) test car that is licensed to drive on Japanese roads. Renault showed off an version of its Zoe EV earlier this year called the Next Two, that could pilot itself at speeds up to 18 miles per hour, and that the company predicted would be ready by 2020.
