Selling my wife's 2002 Nissan Xterra.  We've purchased with 107,000 miles about 4 years ago.  We've religiously changed the oil every 3,000 miles at the local Nissan dealer.  Just had them do a complete exterior detail.  Paint shines like new as you can see in the pics.  Almost completely unblemished paint for an 11 year old vehicle.  Fort Wayne Nissan said they have not seen a cleaner Xterra of that generation.  Runs and drives excellent, everything works, no issues, no leaks, no problems.  Has the molded rubber Husky floor liners front and back.  Tires are Goodyear Wrangler RT/S and have at least 90% tread.  Selling because wife is ready for something different.

If you are local, feel free to contact me and we will arrange for a test drive.  If you are not local and are the winning bidder, I will not hold you to the winning bid if you change your mind once you see the vehicle.  It's really in exceptional shape so I'm confident that you will be satisfied.  I sell a vehicle about once a year on ebay, check my positive feedback.  Happy bidding!

Semi-autonomous Nissan Leaf certified for road use in Japan [w/video]

Sat, 28 Sep 2013

In order to meet its goal of having an autonomous car in production by 2020, Nissan is going to have be able to test its technology in real-world driving conditions. For this, the automaker has just received a license plate to legally test its semi-autonomous driver assist systems in Japan, marking the first time such technologies have been tested on that country's roads. Not ironically, the license plate number is 2020.
Though not fully autonomous, this Leaf prototype will test various components of a self-driving car including exiting the highway, the ability to stay in its lane and change lanes when needed, stopping at red lights and overtaking stopped or slow traffic. Nissan is also in the process of building a proving ground in Oppama, Japan dedicated solely to autonomous cars, but the ability to test on public roads will obviously play a crucial role in the development of these cars. Scroll down for a short video and press release Nissan posted to mark the occasion.

Chip shortage will hit Nissan, Suzuki and Mitsubishi in June

Sat, May 22 2021

TOKYO — A global chip shortage is forcing Nissan and Suzuki to temporarily halt production at some plants in June, sources with direct knowledge of the plans told Reuters on Friday. Nissan will idle its factory in Kyushu, southern Japan, for three days on June 24, 25 and 28, while making production adjustments during the month at its Tochigi and Oppama plants in Japan, three sources said. Nissan will also temporarily halt production of some of its models at its Mexico plant, they said, declining to be identified because the plan is not public. "A global shortage of semiconductors has affected parts procurement in the auto sector. Due to the shortage, Nissan is adjusting production and taking necessary actions to ensure recovery," a Nissan spokeswoman said. Suzuki will idle its three plants in Shizuoka prefecture from three to nine days, two sources said, also declining to be identified because the plan is not public. The plan "has not been confirmed," a Suzuki spokesman said, explaining that while the carmaker gave its provisional production plan to auto part makers, it is still making adjustments to minimize the impact of the chip shortage. Elsewhere, Mitsubishi will reduce production by 30,000 vehicles in total in June at five plants in Japan, Thailand and Indonesia, a spokeswoman said, adding that the impact has already been factored into its earnings outlook for the current fiscal year. 'Qashqai' so hard to pronounce even Nissan is poking fun at it

Mon, 14 Apr 2014

In the US, there aren't a lot of vehicle names that are very difficult to pronounce. Maybe the Volkswagen Touareg might trip up a few people, but by and large, we've got it pretty easy. Our friends in Europe, though, have a bigger challenge, thanks to vehicles like the Nissan Qashqai. Yes, Qashqai.
Like the Touareg, the Qashqai draws its name from a nomadic people. While Nissan isn't making up words, then, it's still not an easy name to pronounce. Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson routinely calls it a kumquat, for example. According to Nissan, though, it's pronounced "Cash'kai".
To get its point across as the second-gen Qashqai, the close cousin of the US market Rogue, prepares to launch in Australia, Nissan set up a little event at a coffee shop. Customers would place their orders, only to have the spelling of their names butchered rather badly. On the other side of the cup, there's a message from Nissan and the Qashqai.
