I'm selling my 2001 Nissan Xterra. I was specifically looking for a clean Xterra. I looked for about 6 mo. I bought this vehicle after seeing the AWESOME condition it was in. It was sold New here in Ft. Lauderdale & has been here it's whole life. No winters, No snow, No salt & No rust! It was garage kept until I bought it. It is the VERY RARE Denim Blue color & the paint is in beautiful condition. The seats were covered with OEM Xterra seat covers when I got it (since new??? don't know) & the interior is in awesome condition. See pics. I love this truck & am only selling it because I took a job out of the country & can't take it with me. The pics don't do it justice. It would be difficult to find another one in this condition.
It has the 3.3 V-6, Auto trans, AM/FM/CD, Air Conditioning (It will FREEZE you out!), cruise control, tilt wheel, Power steering, brakes, windows, mirrors & locks. Retractable cargo cover & roof rack w/basket. Driver & passenger airbags. Anti-Lock brakes. Tinted windows. Aluminum wheels.
It got new tires about 4,000 miles ago (Cooper Discoverer), just had a synthetic blend oil change w/filter & tire rotation.
When I got it I put in a new radiator (w/ new coolant sensor, coolant flush & radiator cap), tune-up, battery & valve cover gaskets.
Runs & drives excellent. The only negative I can mention is that it has a small dent in the rear bumper.
Feel free to e-mail me with any questions or see it. Cash sale only. Clean title in hand. Scammers don't bother. $500 Deposit by Paypal within 48 hours, balance in CASH at pickup.

Why Japan's government is looking to curb its adorable kei car market
Tue, Jun 10 2014Each region around the world has its stereotypical vehicle. The US has the pickup and Europe the five-door hatchback; but in Japan, the kei car reigns supreme. These tiny cars are limited to just 660cc of displacement but they've also come with lower taxes to make them more affordable. To make of the most of their small size, they've often had quite boxy styling like the Honda N-One shown above, and because they're Japanese, they've often had quirky names like the Nissan Dayz Roox. However, if the Japanese government has its way, the future popularity of these little guys might be in jeopardy. The problem facing them is that Japan is an island both literally and figuratively. After World War II, the Japanese government created the class as a way to make car ownership more accessible. The tiny engines generally meant better fuel economy to deal with the nation's expensive gas, and the tax benefits also helped. It's made the segment hugely popular even today, with kei cars making up roughly 40 percent of the nation's new cars sales last year, according to The New York Times. The downside is that these models are almost never exported because they aren't as attractive to buyers elsewhere (if indeed they even meet overseas regulations). So if an automaker ends up with a popular kei model, it can't really market it elsewhere. The government now sees that as a threat to the domestic auto industry. It believes that every yen invested into kei development is wasted, and the production takes up needed capacity at auto factories. The state would much rather automakers create exportable models. To do this, it's trying to make the little cars less attractive to buy, and thus, less attractive to build. The authorities recently increased taxes on kei cars by 50 percent to narrow the difference between standard cars, according to the NYT. If kei cars do lose popularity, it could open the market up to greater competition from foreign automakers. Several companies complained about the little cars stranglehold on the Japanese market last year, but since then, imported car sales there have shown some growth thanks to the improving economy. Mercedes to build CLA at Nissan plant in Mexico [w/poll]
Wed, 25 Jun 2014Volkswagen may have paved the way for American customers to get used to the idea of German cars produced in Mexico, but it won't be the only one for long. BMW is said to be considering production of the 1 Series, 3 Series and Mini south of the border, Audi is working on its own factory in San Jose Chiapa, and now Mercedes-Benz is reported to be following suit as well. Only instead of building its own plant, Daimler is tipped to use a Nissan factory in Aguascalientes.
According to a report in Manager Magazin recently cited by Automotive News Europe, that's where Mercedes is considering building the GLA, CLA and another A-Class sedan. Just what the point would be of another sedan based on the A-Class in addition to the CLA, we're not sure, but if Benz can produce the larger CLS in addition to the E-Class and S-Class sedans, we suppose there'd be room for an A-Class sedan alongside the CLA as well.
We're still waiting on confirmation and comment from Mercedes on the prospect, but one way or another, the increase in Mexican production of German automobiles seems to be a foregone conclusion.
Demand for electric car rentals unplugged by range anxiety
Tue, 15 Oct 2013It's the hurdle that electric vehicles must clear to be launched into the mainstream: range anxiety. But this time it isn't prospective customers who worry about running out of juice, Bloomberg reports, but renters who return to car rental agencies before their lease is up and trade their EVs in for more traditional gasoline-powered autos and gas-electric hybrids.
"People are very keen to try [electric vehicles], but they will switch out of the contract part way through ... they think they can't get to a charging station," says Lee Broughton, head of sustainability at Enterprise. Enterprise customers who rent EVs reportedly trade them in 1.6 days into the rental period on average, which compares unfavorably to the six- to seven-day rental periods of traditional, fuel-burning automobiles.
Christopher Agnew, an analyst at MKM Holdings LLC, says that longer range would help rental customers' range anxiety, especially since they are usually renting vehicles in unfamiliar places.
