WRECKED!
Hello, and thanks for viewing. What you are looking at here is what is left of my 2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V.
During a blinding rainstorm a few weeks ago we found a very large sheet of water on the highway, and my car decided
to try to become amphibious. The photos of the car will tell the rest of that story. The damage here was caused by a utility
pole. I smacked it pretty good, and both airbags were deployed. It fractured the battery on contact, so the miles listed are a close
estimation based solely on memory. I can tell you that I think the majority of the impact was absorbed by the front crumple zone,
and probably the hardest shot was taken by the front driver's side wheel and suspension. I am not saying, nor implying that
the engine was or was not damaged. Same goes for the transmission. I can only guess they are OK, but I would bid as if they were not.
I have the original Brembo calipers that I will include with the car. I very recently changed them out to standard Sentra calipers
and rotors. The interior of the car is in really nice shape. There are no tears in the seats, and with some mild steam cleaning they
will probably look close to new. I just purchased the nismo floor mats a couple of months ago. There is no rust on this car
worth mentioning, and except for the obvious it was in proper mechanical condition. I have the title in hand and it is "clear".
It has not been totaled (salvaged) by anyone yet.
I have a brand new (still in the box) set of 18" rims I was very close to putting on this car, but......
I will have them up on eBay very soon too. They are Drag Specialties DR15 in silver. A nice looking wheel that I believe
has been discontinued.
I've been a member of the eBay family for quite some time, and as you can tell by my 100% rating I am a good person to do business
with. This is, however, my very first sale I'm doing here. I've been buying for years so I know what it takes to be a good buyer. I'm
fairly sure I can be a good seller as well. Now what I need from you is to be a good buyer. If you do not have the means nor the
intentions to own this parts car, there is a very simple rule. DO NOT BID ON IT! Is that some kind of difficult concept? It must be
considering how many sellers I've seen having to put that in their ads. Don't play games with me, and I won't play games either. If
your eBay rating is less than *5* or if you have a lot of negatives, please do not bid until you contact me first. I will cancel your bid with
no hard feelings.
This vehicle is located at a body shop in Millbrook, AL owned by a friend. The winning bidder will be solely responsible for
retrieving the vehicle either by shipping, or bringing in a car hauler yourself. I will not sell you any parts. I'm selling this all together
to one bidder. I do not have the time to play pull-a-part for anyone. If I did I would gladly do it. I love working on cars. Please keep
all this in mind before bidding. There will be a very small reserve. I see no reason for selling this car at a financial loss to me. I don't
want it to go to waste if there is someone out there needing the parts, but I'll scrap it before I lose money on the deal. If you have any
questions at all, please ask. I want no false expectations, and no negative feedback from either side on this deal.
Thank You, and Happy Bidding!

The mood at this year’s Paris Motor Show: Quiet
Tue, Oct 2 2018The Paris Motor Show, held every other year in the early fall, typically kicks off the annual cavalcade of automotive conclaves, one that traverses the globe between autumn and spring, introducing projective, conceptual and production-ready vehicle models to the international automotive press, automotive aficionados and a public hungry for news of our increasingly futuristic mobility enterprise. But this year, at the press preview days for the show, the grounds of the Porte de Versailles convention center felt a bit more sparsely populated than usual. This was not simply a subjective sensation, or one influenced by the center's atypically dispersed assemblage of seven discrete buildings, which tends to spread out the cars and the crowds. There were not only fewer new vehicles being premiered in Paris this year, there were fewer manufacturers there to display them. Major mainstream European OEM stalwarts such as Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Nissan and Volkswagen chose to sit out Paris this year, as did boutique manufacturers like Bentley, Aston Martin and Lamborghini. This is not simply based in some antipathy on the part of the German, British and Italian manufacturers toward the French market — though for a variety of historical and societal reasons that market may be more dominated by vehicles produced domestically than others. Rather, it is part of a larger trend in the industry. Last year, Mercedes-Benz announced that it would not be participating in the flagship North American International Auto Show in 2019 — and that it might not return. Other brands including Jaguar/Land Rover, Audi, Porsche, Mazda and nearly every exotic carmaker have also departed the Detroit show. Some of these brands will still appear in the city in which the show is taking place, and host an event offsite, to capitalize on the presence of a large number of reporters in attendance. And even brands that do have a presence at the show have shifted their vehicle introductions to the days before the official press opening in an attempt to stand out from the crowd. In many ways, this makes sense. With an expanding number of automakers, with diversification and niche-ification of models and with wholesale shifts that necessitate the introduction of EV or autonomous sub-brands, there is a growing sense that, with everyone shouting at the same time, no one can be heard.
Nissan announces 5-year/100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty for commercial vehicles
Thu, 19 Jun 2014Nissan is a relative new-kid when it comes to the commercial van market in the US, with its commercial vehicles division only introducing the first NV vans in February 2011. But Nissan isn't letting its newcomer status keep it from challenging the established players in the segment. The company's latest shot over competitors' bows is announcing that, starting for the 2014 model year, its NV Cargo, NV Passenger and NV200 Compact Cargo vans carry a best-in-class, five-year/100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. Their powertrain coverage also gets a 40,000-mile increase to five years/100,000 miles.
The new warranty is a huge leap over adversaries in the segment and should lure in some buyers looking for a longer term of coverage. The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ram ProMaster, Ford Transit and Transit Connect all carry a three-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. The Fords offer five years and 60,000 miles of powertrain coverage, while all of the others increase that to 100,000 miles. Until this announcement, Nissan had the standard thee years of coverage, as well.
The Japanese automaker is clearly hungry to grab a bigger piece of the commercial van pie. Its heavy-duty NV vans have a relatively small 5.3 percent market share in their segment as of May 2014, according to the company's figures, but the NV200 is doing better with a 19.4 percent share. The division as a whole is on the upswing, though, with sales up 88 percent so far in 2014. With just a few years under its belt, Nissan Commercial Vehicles seems unafraid to challenge the status quo in the segment. Let's see how buyers respond. Scroll down to read the full announcement about the new warranty.
Ten of the greatest Super Bowl car commercials of all time
Thu, Jan 28 2016With an average of over 100 million viewers each year, the Super Bowl always has advertisers bringing out the big guns. And for those among us who don't know the difference between a safety and a touchback, those commercials can be one of the most compelling aspects of the annual ritual. Car companies, in particular, have a long history of making the most of the huge Super Bowl audience by debuting some of the most memorable advertisements that have ever aired on television. So, in preparation for the new batch we'll be seeing this coming Sunday, here's a collection of our favorites from the past. 10. Audi – The Godfather When Audi created this homage to the quintessential gangster movie to promote its newest sports car, the company managed to make a commercial that was simultaneously funny, a little bit disturbing, and most importantly memorable. 9. Maserati – Strike This one might start out slow, but it delivers not only with the wicked sound of the third-generation Ghibli's engine, but with an interesting message about hubris in the auto industry as well. 8. Nissan 300ZX Twin-Turbo – Dream Directed by none other than Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Alien), this dystopian spot has centers around a narrator who explains that in his dream the bad guys are unable to catch him despite their best efforts by way of street bikes, race cars, and supersonic jets. While the twin-turbocharged 300ZX car was certainly a performance powerhouse to be reckoned with in its day, the concept and execution of this one does come off a little bit campy now – but in a good way. Then again, it is a dream, after all. 7. General Motors – Robot This one is unique in that it's genuinely depressing on a profound level. Who would've thought that the simulated suicide of a lovable, anthropomorphic car-building robot who has fallen on hard times could be such a downer? 6. Nissan – With Dad Although the debut season of its new LMP1 racer didn't exactly turn out how the team hoped it would, there's no denying that Nissan's depiction of a strained father-and-son relationship that eventually leads to redemption (and the introduction of the 2016 Maxima) tugs at the heartstrings. 5. Volkswagen – Big Day A surprisingly poignant advert, this one might be low on dialogue but it certainly gets its message across. And just as the dramatic soundtrack begins to lull the viewer into a sense of security, our expectations are upended. 4.
