1992 Nissan Sentra Se-r Project/race Car on 2040-cars
Wilmington, North Carolina, United States
Up for bid is my 1992 Nissan Sentra SE-R. I have had the car for
about two and a half years now, but I have lost interest and decided to move onto some other
projects. The vehicle is currently in a non-running condition and the entire interior has been removed. Vehicle ran without issue when parked. Vehicle has been sitting apart for about 6 months. This would make a great Project/Race Car for someone who can take the time to put it back together. All of the basic parts are there, it just needs some time and effort to put it back together. I had planned to get a full roll cage installed. There is NO RESERVE on this auction, so the highest bidder will own this vehicle when the auction is over.
Basics: 163K on Chassis. Car is red in color. Car has clean and clear North Carolina title (not currently registered). Recently installed JDM SR20DE engine (mileage unknown). New clutch. Short throw shifter. New header (EBAY Special). Vehicle has Kirk Racing 4-Point Roll Bar (bolt-in) installed. Optima Red-Top battery relocated to trunk (battery installation will have to be completed, there is currently no wiring installed for the battery). Steel braided brake lines. Koyo Aluminum radiator installed. Cusco Front Strut bar installed. Progress front and rear sway bars installed. Unknown spring and shocks installed. Auto-Meter Oil pressure and low oil pressure warning light included. Has bronze 15-inch Nissan Sentra SE Wheels with street tires installed (spare is currently installed due to one of the tires being flat, it will be repaired when vehicle is sold, tires are in fair condition). Lots of spare pieces and parts included with the vehicle (too much to list). The following is every issue that I know about the car. The sunroof has been removed, there is a metal plug currently duct taped the roof to keep the elements out. This vehicle has all of the interior removed and most of it discarded. There are no seats or carpet at all! The only interior pieces left are the dash board, center console pieces, gauge cluster, heater box, and door panels (still installed). Front bumper and drivers side have some cosmetic damage (see pictures).
Power steering has been disabled. ABS has been disabled and wiring to rear speed sensors removed. A/C removed. Engine ECU and interior wiring had been disconnected. Trailer and trailer accessories in pictures are not included with the vehicle. Vehicle is located in Southeastern NC. Winning bidder is responsible for pick up of vehicle and all spare parts. I will help out with this as much as possible. $100 NON-REFUNDABLE Deposit is required via PayPal at auction end. Balance can be paid with CASH or via PayPal at vehicle delivery. On Mar-25-14 at 03:23:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Winning bidder is responsible for all title and registration fees. |

Syrena Sport returns as rebodied Nissan 370Z
Tue, 23 Apr 2013We wouldn't hold it against you if you'd never heard of the FSO Syrena Sport. FSO built the long-enduring Syrena for some 17 years nonstop, and while the machines were mostly plodding family sedans, engineers at FSO did create one version with a bit more zest. The Syrena Sport was a two-door coupe that borrowed design cues from Ferrari and was powered by a two-cylinder, air-cooled boxer engine. While originally intended for production, economic woes kept the machine from ever seeing the light of day.
Now, the Syrena Sport is back, though in a slightly different configuration. Entrepreneur Rafal Czubaj has resurrected the name for a special one-off creation designed by Pavlo Burkatskyy. This time around, there is no oddball boxer under the hood, however. Czubaj chose to use the underpinnings from the Nissan 370Z, complete with its 3.7-liter V6 engine. Buyers can choose between a 330-horsepower tune or a 450-hp iteration, and with a curb weight of 2,865 pounds, the car should be plenty quick. Expect acceleration to 60 miles per hour in around 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph.
Nissan's autonomous cars could drive in US first, maybe by 2020
Fri, Jan 24 2014Future shock could be just six short years away, and coming first to the US. Nissan says it might start making autonomous versions of its cars available in the US by 2020, before the tech hits the road in other countries. The Japanese automaker is in extensive discussions with regulators from California, the best-selling state for the Leaf battery-electric vehicle, for allowing self-driving vehicles to be on its roads, Hybrid Cars says, citing a conversation with Nissan executive Andy Christensen at the recent Detroit Auto Show. Many decisions need to be made between now and then, given the hurdles related to issues such as regulations, liability, safety and technology - and Christensen said the first wave of self-driving vehicles would be able to do their thing only on the highway. The vehicle of choice is most likely to be the Leaf because it's completely battery operated, making the conversion to autonomy that much easier. Last summer, Nissan chief Carlos Ghosn first promised production autonomous cars by 2020. The automaker has teamed up with MIT, Stanford, Oxford and others to extensively test its "Autonomous Drive" concepts since then. Late last year, Nissan tested a self-driving Leaf on Japanese public roads. Nissan is not alone promoting autonomous driving as a way to increase safety, fuel economy and traffic flow, just some of the reasons why the idea may be the wave of the nearer-than-we-thought-future. For example, the company says 93 percent of accidents are caused by driver error.
Nissan to take over for Renault in Formula E
Thu, Oct 12 2017Formula E has generated a lot of news lately, even in the off-season, as major automakers continue to either join the series or express interest in participating. The inclusion of a number of European rivals makes the series particularly interesting. One thing missing from the lineup is a Japanese automaker. That will change, though, as Motorsport reports that Nissan will be taking over its Alliance partner Renault's spot on the starting grid. It's not confirmed when the switch will happen, but with the Renault e.dams Z.E. 17 (seen in testing above) already having been unveiled for next season, it's likely the switch will come in for the 2018/19 season when the series moves away from the practice of swapping cars mid-race. Renault has been a successful part of Formula E from the very beginning, providing (with partner Spark) the cars each team used in the first season, and scoring the series' first Team Championship in 2015, and then again in 2016 and 2017. Nissan, though, has the globally popular Leaf EV, and has been eyeing an entry into Formula E for some time now. Joining the series will not only boost the visibility of Nissan's electrification strategy, it will do the same for its Nismo arm as well (and, as we've already learned, there could be a Leaf Nismo offered in the future). The change would also free up resources for Renault to focus on its F1 efforts. As Motorsport also reports, Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag has said of the Japanese brands Nissan, Honda and Toyota, that "one of those three, maybe two, will end up" in the electric racing series, without elaborating further. Nissan isn't expected to confirm its Formula E entry soon, but it could happen at the Geneva Motor Show next year. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
