It has luxurious body sculpting that starts with the tapered front, with its chrome-framed grille and dramatic head lights, and then glides all the way back. It has notably large windows as well, which helps the driver with visibility. For 2014, the Pathfinder is not only available as a gasoline vehicle, but a new Hybrid as well. The gas models include the base level S trim, the SV and SL, and the top-level Platinum. They share a 3.5-liter, 24-valve, V6 engine with 260 Horsepower, which is paired with the incredible Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission. The Hybrid model comes in three trims: SV, SL and Platinum. It has a SuperCharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and an electric motor with an Intelligent Dual Clutch System. It has a lithium-ion battery, and gets 250 Horsepower and 243 lb-ft of Torque. Plus, it features electrically driven regenerative brakes. In addition, the All-Mode 4x4-i intuitive 4WD system is an available option for gas as well as hybrid models. The Base S trim comes very generously equipped. Nissan Note getting a little louder with Nismo versions this fall
Thu, 24 Jul 2014Nissan's Nismo performance division has been getting more chances to shine recently with tuned models like the Juke Nismo RS and GT-R Nismo. But its latest creation moves closer to the bottom of the Japanese brand's lineup to make a hot hatch out of the (Versa) Note.
At least in Japan, the new model is due this fall, and Nismo is keeping a lot of the details about its latest creation a secret for now. What we do know is that it'll be available in two trims - the Note Nismo and the sportier Nismo S. "The development concept of this model was to build a car that makes you want to keep driving, no matter where your destination may be," said the division's chief product specialist, Hiroshi Tamura, in the company's announcement.
Aesthetically, the Note Nismo looks the way a tuned Nissan should, with the division's signature red trim outlining the car. It also wears a new, mesh grille, lower air dam, red side sills and rear spoiler. Inside, the S gets standard sport seats with full Recaro buckets as an option. Nissan didn't release technical specs for either version, but it promises that the S also gets a tuned engine with a five-speed manual.
Nissan Titan Wounded Warrior project lands in time for Veteran's Day
Tue, 11 Nov 2014We last featured the crowdsourced Project Titan pickup back in September, back when Nissan revealed that its big, bruising custom pickup would take to the wilds of Alaska with a pair of veterans from the Wounded Warrior Project at the wheel.
Now, their journey across the wilds has been fully revealed as part of a 22-minute short film. David Guzman and Kevin McMahon are the pilots of the brutish truck, and while the film is ostensibly focused on the journey and the challenges that come with it, the release of the video on Veterans Day (Remembrance Day or Armistice Day, depending on where you're from), gives some indication to the dominant theme of the story - recovery.
The two travel across Alaska in the Titan on different missions, working with both veterans and civilians afflicted with post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as supporters of the Wounded Warrior Project. From the avalanche-surviving photographer who's suffering from PTSD to an Air Force veteran who routinely takes recovering vets on fishing trips, the pair experience the many efforts at recovery and support throughout the course of the missions and their journey.
Convocation of eagles takes over bed of Nissan pickup
Mon, 13 May 2013Let this be a lesson to those of you who plan to visit Unalaska, Alaska (yes, it's a real city on Unalaska Island in the Aleutian Islands): If you park at Safeway with a garbage bag full of fish fillets in your pickup's bed, the eagles will find you. That's what happened above when an unidentified man parked his Nissan and returned to find a convocation of bald eagles feasting on his fish.
Neither the man nor those parked near his truck could get to their cars for fear of getting a beatdown from The 'Murica Bird, and police were called to break it up, which they did with neither beast nor fowl injured in the process.
Other than being awesome watching, other things we can take away from this video are the question who comes up with bird gathering names (a "murmuration" of herons and an "unkindness" of ravens?), and the bounty of this comment left by user "Abraham" at the KUCB news report: "It's just that the luxury edition has so much more eagle, it saddens me to think of you missing out."
