Greetings!

I have up for auction, no reserve, highest bidder gets it: 2005 Nissan Pathfinder 4X4 OFF ROAD Edition with 3rd row seating for 7 passengers!   Titled in PA, 2 owner car with a very clean CARFAX / AUTOCHECK report.  No accidents!  I am selling this car for my 60 year old mother.  It’s been her vehicle for about 3-4 years now.  She barely drives it.  Non smoker, No pets, No young children in the car, just her and the groceries.  Never used for towing.

The car is strictly Nissan Dealer serviced by Nissan of Warminster, PA by 1 service technician – his contact details can be provided by request.

6 months ago at 100k miles, the car received new brakes all around, new belts, new spark plugs, transmission fluid change, rear differential fluid change, and a new driveshaft U-joint.  The U-joint is a common issue with the Pathfinders – this one was just replaced.   We also put 4 new GOODYEAR tires on the car 6k miles ago!  Plenty of life left on them for years to come.  We repaired everything the dealer recommended 6k miles ago, and along with the tires approx $2000. was spent on the car.  You can drive this across country without any hesitation!

What you are looking at here is a very mechanically sound excellent mechanical condition Nissan Pathfinder with the RARE OFF ROAD Edition package including the 2 tone interior, sport seats, higher suspension, and bigger tires.  The car has some cosmetic blemishes as any car of this age would have.  I will describe them in detail so that you can rest assure there will be no surprises when you come to pick up the car.

The car has your standard options like power windows, locks, CD player, power adjustable gas/brake pedals, keyless entry, A/C, shift on the fly 4X4 system, and factory tow package.  The vehicle also hads the 3rd row seating for a total of 7 passengers.  There is a CD stuck in the CD player currently and we cannot seem to get it out.  This happened before and one day magically it came out when we pressed eject, but currently – there is one stuck in there.  A factory CD player/radio for this car on eBay seems to be $50 if worst case it needs to be replaced.  All other options mentioned above work flawlessly.  AC was recently serviced and blows cold, it has the dual zone A/C so it can be controlled by the rear passengers as well.

Now for the cosmetic issues.  Normal for a 105k mileage car.  Please study the pictures carefully, as everything can be seen in the pics.  The biggest issue is the left front fender has a dent in it.  I took a close up pic of that.  The front bumper has scrapes on the corner.  The passenger rear qtr panel has a very small ding.   The hood has your usual (less than average for 105k) rock chips.  The cover for the coins/change holder next to the gear shifter does not close.

I’m trying my best to disclose all known issue accurately so you can rest assure a honest transaction.  Only reason we are selling this car is because my mom got a new Lexus SUV.  We are not desperate to sell but will sell to the highest bidder at the end of the auction.  The transaction will take place at a Notary / Title agency near my home in King of Prussia PA.  I will accept bank certified checks only please.

Any questions – please email me through ebay!

Good luck and happy bidding!

Asian automakers still reluctant to use more aluminum

Tue, Jun 24 2014

There's a logical progression of technology in the auto industry. We've seen it with things like carbon-ceramic brakes, which use to be the sole domain of six-figure sports cars, where they often cost as much as an entry level Toyota Corolla. Now, you can get them on a BMW M3 (they're still pricey, at $8,150). Who knows, maybe in the next four a five years, they'll be available on something like a muscle car or hot hatchback. Aluminum has had a similar progression, although it's further along, moving from the realm of Audi and Jaguar luxury sedans to Ford's most important product, the F-150. With the stuff set to arrive in such a big way on the market, we should logically expect an all-aluminum Toyota Camry or Honda Accord soon, right? Um, wrong. Reuters has a great report on what's keeping Asian manufacturers away from aluminum, and it demonstrates yet another stark philosophical difference between automakers in the east and those in the west. Of course, there's a pricing argument at play. But it's more than just the cost of aluminum sheet (shown above) versus steel. Manufacturing an aluminum car requires extensive retooling of existing factories, not to mention new relationships with suppliers and other logistical and financial nightmares. Factor that in with what Reuters calls Asian automaker's preference towards "evolutionary upgrades," and the case for an all-aluminum Accord is a difficult one. Instead, manufacturers in the east are focusing on developing even stronger steel as a means of trimming fat, although analysts question how long that practice can continue. Jeff Wang, the automotive sales director for aluminum supplier Novelis, predicts that we'll see a bump in aluminum usage from Japanese and Korean brands in the next two to three years, and that it will be driven by an influx of aluminum-based vehicles from western automakers into China. Only time will tell if he's proven right. News Source: ReutersImage Credit: Sean Gallup / Getty Images Plants/Manufacturing Honda Hyundai Mazda Nissan Toyota Technology aluminum

Nissan e-NV200 EV charges into Tokyo

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

Nissan has already shown its e-NV200 in Detroit and Frankfurt in conceptual form, now its home market is getting an up-close look at the production all-electric compact van at the Tokyo Motor Show. While it doesn't sound like the e-NV200 will be making its way to the US anytime soon, it will go on sale on sale in Europe in the middle of next year and in Japan by early 2015.
The electric NV200 will be built in Barcelona, Spain, and while that EV-minded city has committed to using the van for public transportation, Nissan's hometown of Yokohama, Japan will also put the zero-emission vehicle to work in its public services fleet. Nissan has yet to reveal the production specs for the e-NV200 - including range - we do know that it will share much of its drivetrain with smaller Nissan Leaf. Check out the press release posted below for more information about the e-NV200 and Nissan's EV efforts in Yokohama.

Nissan Qashai gets the Juke R treatment

Thu, 03 Oct 2013

It would appear that we're a little behind the times on this one, but a UK-based tuner of the Nissan GT-R is creating its own take on the lustworthy Juke-R starting with the Nissan Qashqai crossover. Severnvalley Motorsport claims to be the leading authority for tuning of the current GT-R in Europe. The outfit is now turning its attention to stuffing the drivetrain of a GT-R under the body of a Qashqai+2 - a seven-passenger compact crossover similar in size to our Nissan Rogue - resulting in the Qashqai-R.
The project started back in March when Severnvalley took delivery of a new Qashqai. After stripping the crossover down to its bare essentials and building a custom jig to support the body shell, it was then transferred onto an awaiting GT-R chassis. The crew aimed to keep Qashqai's appearance as stock as possible, but fender extensions and hood vents were required to accommodate the sports car underpinnings.
The white Qashqai-R seen above will be tuned to produce 900 horsepower, while a black version will get bumped up to 1,000 hp. And, looking at the build photos, we surmise that this project will take nothing less than a herculean feat of supercar determination before it's through.
