1996 Nissan Pathfinder. Always well maintained but starting to show its age. Local inspection station says the frame in the rear is rusted and would probably not pass inspection, but there are lots of good parts. The following is a listing of parts that were replaced within the past 500 miles:
exhaust system- everything but the catalytic converter.
Front brakes, INCLUDING both rotors (I even had the wheel bearings on the driver's side replaced at the same time as the brakes.)
Rear lower control arm bushings- THESE bushings are what causes the side-to-side rocking that EVERY Pathfinder built around this vintage needs! The OEM bushings break down from heat road salt and (wait for it) AGE, which makes them spongy and causes the TERRIFYING side-to-side rocking! The bushings on one side are already installed. I have the other two but haven't had a chance to install them yet.
All glass is good.
Engine runs very well, but the "main" seals are starting to leak oil.
Radiator has less than 500 miles on it.
Starter has less than 200 miles on it. (This was a brand new starter, not from a junk yard.)
Running boards are chrome-plated stainless steel aftermarket running boards that were replaced about 3 years ago.
Any questions, feel free to email.
Reserve is $500 because at least one local salvage yard is willing to pay me $500 for it but I would much rather see it go to someone that could use the good parts on it, than see it crushed.

Nissan to expand next-gen Titan with more engines, configurations
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Not much has changed with the Nissan Titan in the decade that it's been on the market, but the 2015 model year could move the needle enough to turn the truck from an "also ran" in the fullsize truck market to more of a contender. Edmunds had the chance to sit down with Pierre Loing, vice president of product and advanced planning and strategy for Nissan North America, who indicated that not only will a new truck be coming for 2015, it is also expected to take a bigger chunk of the truck market currently dominated by Ford and General Motors.
For starters, the article quotes Loing saying that the next-gen Titan could sell 100,000 units, which is almost five times the number of Titans and the same number of Toyota Tundra trucks sold last year. To accomplish this, Nissan is planning to offer a wider number of models (including a regular cab version) and more powertrain options; we're sure this means Nissan is considering offering a V6. The addition of a regular-cab, V6 Titan would also allow this truck to be more competitively priced.
Will that be enough to attract buyers away from the Big Three domestic trucks? We'll just have to wait and see...
Nissan's Carlos Ghosn taps the brakes on autonomous car progress
Fri, 18 Jul 2014
"Self-driving cars remain a long way from commercial reality."
Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn shocked the automotive industry last year when he announced that his company plans to offer consumers an autonomous car by 2020. The automaker even showed off its self-driving Leaf prototype as proof. He was bolder recently with the pronouncement that select markets could have them in 2018, if laws allowed. The boss' optimism appears to be waning, though, and he's now sounding a lot more conservative about the future. While driverless vehicles are still on the way, Ghosn is hedging his bets with a more gradual implementation of several systems.
2013 Nissan Pathfinder: April 2013
Fri, 26 Apr 2013Not Just For Families
Since our long-term 2013 Nissan Pathfinder joined the Autoblog Garage in late December of last year, the only time I've really spent with it has been during the short periods of time between my co-workers' longer loans. Until now, my experiences with our Mocha Stone tester have been limited to pick-ups and drop-offs at various locations around the greater Michigan/Ohio area, not to mention keeping the vehicle clean inside and out, as well as handling our first bit of scheduled maintenance in late March.
I was pleased, then, to actually be able to spend most of the month of April with our Pathfinder, finally giving me a chance to see what everyone else does and does not like about Nissan's new crossover. But here's the thing: I'm admittedly not the ideal person to test a family-minded vehicle. I'm single and in my late twenties, so something like our other long-term car, the 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo, is better suited to meet my everyday needs.
