1995 4 X 4 Nissan Pathfinder on 2040-cars

4 X 4 with hi / lo transfer case. Reverse does not work. I have looked
at several Pathfinders in this year range and it is common. Some have
changed out a relay and fixed it. I have 5 vehicles and need to get rid
of this one. You can replace the transmission, I found one on car monkeys website for 839.99 just for an example.
It runs great, was running hot, changed out thermostat and no more problem. It has 189008 actual miles, I have had it for several years and it is fun to drive. The reverse went out about 2 years ago and I just don't want to spend the money on a vehicle that is only used to go to the hunting camp. The 4 X 4 works perfectly. A/C is cold, heater / defroster works fine. No radio, but there is a CD changer in the back that was there when I bought it, but I have never tested it to see if it works. In case you can't tell from the pictures, there are a few parking lot dings on the driver's door. (The passenger side mirror is missing, the rear door / quarter panel is scraped. I had to dodge a dump truck driving on my side of the road and hit a road sign in the process.) The battery is about 4 years old and holds a charge. I drive it once or twice a week to keep the battery charged and keep the gasoline from going bad. I park so I can drive forward or on an incline so I can let it roll backwards. 2014 Nissan 370Z Nismo
Tue, 22 Oct 2013Michigan is one of those places where we can sub-divide the seasons into good and bad portions, with each producing a noticeable shift. The week prior to my time in the 2014 Nissan 370Z Nismo, it was 65 to 70 degrees and sunny, all week long. Anyone care to guess what the following week was like?
Windy, cold and damp weather typified my week in the Z, with temps hovering around 55 degrees and several days of showers. Yes, I got the first week of the bad part of fall. The Z was hardly happy during its time with me, but we both persevered, and I made a point of sprinting out to the garage anytime the ground seemed remotely dry enough to test this striking two-seater. That enthusiasm waned quickly, though, as the week wore on.
By all accounts, the Z is a car that I should like. It's an uncompromising sports car, but as I discovered during my travels, sometimes a little compromise is welcome, and living with a car like the Z - particularly the angrier, Nismo-tuned model - quickly becomes a case of too much of a good thing.
2015 Nissan Murano to hit the stage in NY
Tue, 18 Feb 2014When the Nissan Murano launched in the early-2000s it was one of the first crossovers to eschew truck-like looks in favor of more sporty styling. For the third generation, Nissan is rumored to be taking the CUV's design even farther with inspiration from the wild Resonance concept that debuted at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. According to Edmunds, Nissan will unveil the next-generation, 2015 Murano and an unnamed concept at the New York Auto Show in April.
The new Murano will go on sale this fall on the same front-wheel drive platform as the Altima, Pathfinder and next-gen Maxima. Its size will be roughly unchanged compared to the current model, and there won't be a seven-seater option. Nissan spokesman Dan Bedore told Edmunds that it already offers "three rows in the Rogue as an option and three rows in the Pathfinder for everything. We don't need another three-row crossover." There will also be a rumored hybrid version using the Pathfinder's supercharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, a 22-horsepower electric motor and lithium-ion battery. To disappoint the dozen people who will miss it, the much-maligned Murano CrossCabriolet will not make it to the third generation. Let's all shed a tear.
NHTSA probing whether to call Nissan to the carpet over Versa unintended acceleration
Mon, 30 Jun 2014The Nissan Versa and Versa Note may have a carpeting problem that could make the little cars risky to drive. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching a preliminary evaluation into the 2012-2014 model year versions of the Versa, Versa Sedan and Versa Note, affecting an estimated 360,000 vehicle. In these vehicles, it's possible that the driver's foot could be caught where the carpet meets a trim panel near the accelerator. The regulator has four reported instances of the issue, but it's still collecting data from Nissan about any further cases.
According to the complaints, the tunnel carpet cover trim panel can possibly snag the drivers' right shoe where it meets the carpet, and can either keep their foot on the accelerator or prevent moving it to the brake pedal. In one case, the problem was bad enough that the driver had to free his foot using his hand, while driving. In two of the four reported cases, the vehicles were rental cars.
This is actually the second ongoing preliminary evaluation for some of these models. In late May, NHTSA started looking into the 2013-2014 Versa and 2014 Versa Note for long brake pedal travel.
