New Haven, Connecticut, United States
This is a 1 owner 1988 pathfinder 2 door 3.0 v6 4x4 ..was purchased 07-11-1988 at TOWN AND COUNTRY NISSAN PORTLAND CT ...I bought it in october ITS STILL TITLED IN THE ORIGINAL OWNERS NAME I NEVER REGISTERED IT YOU WILL GET A BILL OF SALE AND THE TITLE ... So you would get the original title with the truck pretty cool .....previous owner was born in 1947 66 years old .... i changed the rear brake line the fuel feed and return lines and a battery it starts runs drives and the 4 wheel drive works .HAS 4 ALMOST NEW DUNLOP TIRES .. the brakes work the clutch is exellent the motor is quiet and powerful .....my intentions where to lift it up 2-3 inches put some big tires on it and make a really cool old school 4x4 to have some fun with its almost january now and i do not have the time money or ambition to go any further with the project .... these trucks are hard to find period ,never mind in original condition and in this shape ..... the interiors very nice the body has crusty rusty rockers but not terrible the frames mostly solid but has some holes near the rear spring perches and the lower rear trailing arms .... The frame is not broken and if you wanted to repair it there is not much work to be done anyone with a welder and a little time could fix it .... i took pictures of the spots,,,,I unbolted the front bumper and can not find the brackets sorry.... bumpers in the back of the truck .... This nissan has a really strong motor a smooth shifting transmission a better than average body and frame a near perfect interior and its driveable although i would consider it a project truck it will drive ... I strongly suggest towing it or trailering it home i have only driven it short distances and let be real its more an antique than a daily driver at this point it will need some tlc .... when the last time you saw one of these??? it gets looks everytime i drive it ..... ok so wrapping up my description please have realistic expectations and dont be afraid to ask me any questions that come to mind .... i do not in anyway want to misrepresent this truck ..i am a mechanic by trade so i will not play dumb about anything i have the knowledge to answer questions correctly .... IF YOU ASK A QUESTION THAT I FEEL IS IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO SHARE IT WILL BE POSTED ....... LOCATION IS CONNECTICUT EITHER SEYMOUR OR NEW HAVEN 06511 I DO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HERE AND THERE ... I HOPE IT FINDS A HOME WHERE SOMEONE WILL APRECIATE IT AS MUCH AS DO THIS THING REALLY IS COOL AND A LOT OF FUN TO DRIVE ..... this is being sold as is where is and every other is if your picky i urge you to come take a look or pay a prvate party to do an inspection once this is sold i do not want any hassles at all ..... thanks and happy biding

Four Wheeler crowns Ultimate Factory 4x4... who wins?
Thu, 15 Nov 2012Nearly every automaker doing business in the SUV or pickup truck segments offers a package designed to improve the off-road capabilities of its wares. But, of course, not all such factory kits are created equal. How, then, to separate the wheat from the chaff? Gather each of them up and put them through their paces, naturally.
The folks from Four Wheeler and PickupTrucks.com joined forces to run just such a comparison test, with the winner named the Ultimate Factory 4x4. A total of seven vehicles showed up to the fight: the 2012 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, 2012 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X and Xterra PRO-4X, 2012 Ram Power Wagon, and 2012 Toyota 4Runner Trail and Tacoma TRD T|X Baja Series.
With the contestants in place, the whole crew put each vehicle through a battery of tests that included skidpad and acceleration measurements, a hillclimb, a rocky stairstep course and a rock garden. Considering the nature of the beasts, on-road ride and comfort were not part of the routine.
Nissan recalling 909k vehicles globally over accelerator issue
Thu, 26 Sep 2013Nissan is issuing a massive recall that will see the Japanese automaker repair 908,900 vehicles worldwide, with nearly 100,000 of the affected models in the United States. While an official recall notice from Nissan or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is not yet available, Reuters has been able to confirm the recall with Nissan.
Nissan's recall is kind of the opposite of the Toyota unintended acceleration, in that it covers a lack of acceleration. According to the report, a sensor in the gas pedal can develop faults, leading to a sluggish acceleration or an outright stall regardless of how much throttle the driver dials in. The huge recall covers mostly Japanese domestic models like the Serena, X-Trail, Lafesta and Fuga, which make up for 764,800 of the 908,900 faulty vehicles. However, 98,300 Infiniti M sedans are being recalled in the US, although it's unclear at this time which model years and trims are affected. The remaining vehicles are found in Europe and Oceania, according to Nissan spokesman Chris Keefe.
No injuries or accidents have been reported due to the faults. The 90-minute repair will see techs replace the accelerator pedal and tweak the engine control programs. We'll update this story as soon as Nissan or NHTSA makes an official statement.
Nissan prices replacement Leaf battery at $5,500
Fri, Jun 27 2014The battery pack is the single most expensive component in a plug-in vehicle and, until now, figuring out the cost to replace one has been a bit of a mystery. Last year, Nissan tried a $100/month price for a new battery in its popular Leaf, but was loudly criticized for that attempt. Today, Nissan is changing gears with a big announcement regarding the price of a new pack for your Nissan Leaf: $5,500 to buy. With an asterisk. Nissan's Brian Brockman, writing at My Nissan Leaf, announced that Nissan Leaf replacement batteries are now available to purchase at certified Leaf dealers in the US at a suggested retail price of $5,499. These packs are the ones found in 2015 Leaf models, which are similar to the ones the Leaf has always had, just with a different, better battery chemistry. To buy a new pack, you need to give Nissan your original battery pack (which Nissan says will be recycled and has a value of $1,000) and the $5,500 "does not include tax, installation fees or an installation kit required for 2011 and 2012 vehicles." That kit costs around $225. A $100/month financing program will still be available (details will be made available later) but now it will have an end date and the driver will own the pack at the end of the payment process. All replacement packs will have the same eight-year, 100,000-mile warranty as the battery in a new Leaf. You can read Brockman's full statement below or over on My Nissan Leaf. Ever since the Leaf entered the market in late 2010, Nissan has been dealing with degrading battery issue, both as a real thing (in warm climates like Arizona) and as a worry in the mind of potential customers. Now that we know how much it'll cost to get a new pack, we can calculate that the overall cost for a new 24-kWh pack is now officially $6,500. That means the price to a customer is less than $270-per-kWh. That's quite low compared to some early estimates, right on target with others and a very big deal for EV shoppers and drivers out there. Hi all: I'm happy to be back to provide a long-awaited update on the Nissan LEAF battery replacement plan. Last year, I posted preliminary details of the program that we'd created based on early survey data, and it led to spirited discussion (and very vocal criticism). So we went back to the drawing board with your comments and the ongoing guidance of the LEAF Advisory Board.
