Up for auction is a 1994 Nissan D21 XE Extended Cab Pickup Truck

About the truck:

It is a 4 cylinder 2 wheel drive automatic transmission with just under 132k miles and gets 25mpg highway

It has AC, power steering, power mirrors, sliding rear window and fold out side windows

It has a cap with a sliding rear window and a bed liner

It seemed well maintained when I bought it and I have kept it in good running condition

Everything in the truck works and it is mechanically sound

Some of the improvements I made are:

New AM/FM single disc mp3 player with four new speakers

new exhaust system, front brakes and rear shocks

Alloy wheels and tires last year

I am the second owner and as far as I know it has never been in an accident.

I bought it from a small used car lot in Pennsylvania 2 years ago.

The original owner ran a small handyman business and this was his work vehicle

What's wrong:

The truck has some rust on the bumper and the rear drivers side wheel well (see pics)

The rear bumper on the drivers side is dented (see pics)

The drivers seat has a tear on the side near the back of the seat (see pics)

The inside headliner droops and should be replaced

The tachometer is flaky, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't

These problems were all there when I purchased the truck

I did a check on Kelley Blue Book and this is what I found

For a private sale                                           For a dealer trade

Good condition --  $5450                               Good condition -- $4100

Fair condition -- $4950                                   Fair condition -- $3500

I was going to trade it to a dealer but I decided to put it up for auction first

If you read the KBB description I feel the truck falls somewhere between good and fair.

It is almost 20 years old but still runs great.

Good Luck and thanks for looking

'Qashqai' so hard to pronounce even Nissan is poking fun at it

Mon, 14 Apr 2014

In the US, there aren't a lot of vehicle names that are very difficult to pronounce. Maybe the Volkswagen Touareg might trip up a few people, but by and large, we've got it pretty easy. Our friends in Europe, though, have a bigger challenge, thanks to vehicles like the Nissan Qashqai. Yes, Qashqai.
Like the Touareg, the Qashqai draws its name from a nomadic people. While Nissan isn't making up words, then, it's still not an easy name to pronounce. Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson routinely calls it a kumquat, for example. According to Nissan, though, it's pronounced "Cash'kai".
To get its point across as the second-gen Qashqai, the close cousin of the US market Rogue, prepares to launch in Australia, Nissan set up a little event at a coffee shop. Customers would place their orders, only to have the spelling of their names butchered rather badly. On the other side of the cup, there's a message from Nissan and the Qashqai.

Recharge Wrap-up: Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Finishes AXCR, Nissan Leafs drive 528 million collective miles

Wed, Aug 20 2014

The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has successfully completed the Asia Cross Country Rally 2014. The plug-in Mitsu finished first in the EV class, and 14th overall, clocking in at 19 hours, 17 minutes and 12 seconds. For its second year in the competition, the Outlander PHEV used a new suspension with more ground clearance to help it tackle the race's treacherous terrain. Besides the glory of taking on the challenging competition, the rally helped Mitsubishi gather valuable data for EV development. The race took place over 1,367 miles of varied terrain from Thailand to Cambodia. Read more at Hybrid Cars, or visit Mitsubishi UK's Facebook page. Nissan Leaf drivers have driven more than 528 million miles worldwide. That accounts for a reduction of 150,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions since the EV's 2010 launch. Nissan projects that Leaf drivers will surpass a collective 1 billion electric kilometers (621 million miles) by January 2015, or perhaps even sooner if sales keep increasing. The mileage data was collected through the car's CarWings telemetry. Whether it's battery-electric, hybrid, or plug-in hybrid, electrons will be doing their share to get the well-heeled from place to place. According to an article at The Sydney Morning Herald, PHEVs are "the most promising option." The BMW i8 is a fine example, as is the Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid, and Audi and Mercedes-Benz have plug-in plans of their own. Lexus, not so much. Read more at The Sydney Morning Herald. PGA golfer Hunter Mahan has taken delivery of a BMW i3 he won by scoring a hole-in-one. BMW offered a free, all-electric i3 to the first player to score a hole-in-one in the 2013 BMW Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club, which Mahan did on the 17th hole. The BMW Championship raised money for Evans Scholars Foundation. BMW Hole-in-One Scholar Melyzjah Smith, who was awarded a full four-year college tuition and housing scholarship in honor of Mahan's slick shot, was on hand to meet the golfer as he received his i3. Worker killed at Nissan Tennessee plant

Sat, 27 Apr 2013

A worker has died at the Nissan assembly plant in Smyrna, TN following an accident. According to The Detroit News, the tragedy happened Thursday and involved a large electric panel that fell while it was being moved. The victim was not a Nissan employee, he was a worker for Michigan-based supplier Complete Automation.
Nissan has not released the name of the deceased, but has vowed to cooperate with the authorities investigating the accident. The Murfreesboro Post notes that this is the second death at the plant in recent years - in 2012, a transport truck driver was killed after his rig rolled forward, crushing him between his cab and trailer.
