1985 Nissan 4x4 Pickup on 2040-cars
Middletown, California, United States
This truck has needed a carburetor for two years. The engine is sound, no smoke, no funny noises - it just needs a carburetor. Also, unfortunately, I checked with California DMV and confirmed that I never registered or "NON-OP'ed" it so there are roughly $325 back registration fees due. I have lowered the starting bid accordingly since I originally posted this ad. This was a daily driver until it developed carburetor issues so everything else about the truck is pretty good. Carburetor issues aside, the four-wheel-drive works awesome - , this thing will practically climb a tree - and it also cruises down the highway adequately in fifth gear. With the carb issue it runs enough to drive on a trailer but is NOT "drivable". All lights, horn, wipers, heater fan... all work. The original Nissan Cassette player doesn't turn on. Steering, suspension and brakes are all GOOD! The body is very straight and has NO rust, the windshield and battery
are fairly new, the LeBarron Bonney high-end seat covers are also in
good shape. The rear bumper is missing. The 31/9.5X15 tires have about 70% tread depth left. The
truck comes with a "Rack It" lumber rack and a (Delta?) side opening
diamond plate toolbox. This truck has a CLEAR California title in my associate's name, the previous owner. In fact this truck has been "in the family" for many years. The truck is at the fleet maintenance garage where I work. Peter, the shop foreman and another previous owner of this truck, it having been in the business fleet from 2000 - 2010, probably knows this truck better than I do. Please call him in Middletown California at 707-987-0254 extension 22 with any questions.
A $500 non-refundable PayPal deposit is required of the winning bidder. Please do not bid unless you can pay the PayPal deposit immediately. The balance by cashiers check, cash in person or can also be paid through PayPal. Buyer is responsible for transporting the vehicle. |

Nissan Qashqai caught looking sleek
Wed, 03 Jul 2013The next-generation of the not-for-US-consumption Nissan Qashqai has been out doing some testing in southern Europe this week. And, if the dressed-in-trash-bags look is any indication, it's been doing a lot of roadwork so it can make weight for the big meet the weekend.
Nissan designers haven't been scared to take big design chances with recent new models, so expectations are that the Qashqai crossover will get a bold new visage for its generational changeover. What we see in these photos indicates a sleeker, slightly trimmer CUV however, with no trace of the bug-eyed look we captured recently on a testing Titan.
In the rest of the world, it's a good bet that the Qashqai will be powered by engines ranging from a 1.2-liter turbo up to a 1.6-liter forced-induction unit; that larger one good for something like 215 horsepower. Diesel powerplants will be in the mix, too, for the compact CUV, and word is that Nismo might get its hands on this Rogue cousin for the first time ever.
Nissan quietly, quickly installing more CHAdeMO stations
Wed, Jul 2 2014Nissan Leaf electric-vehicle sales continue to grow. And the number of US fast-charging stations that the Leaf can use are growing, well, faster. As it should be. Nissan has made good on its early-2013 vow to help ensure that the number of CHAdeMO stations in the US tripled by mid-2014, with Atlanta, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Dallas emerging as the most prevalent US markets, Green Car Reports says. In fact, the number of such stations, which can charge a Leaf to 80-percent battery capacity in about a half hour, has jumped to 633 from about 160 as of January 2013. About 180 are at Nissan dealerships, and that number should continue to surge since Nissan plans to aggressively add fast-charging stations through next March. Nissan spokesman Brian Brockman, in an e-mail to AutoblogGreen, confirmed those numbers and added that companies such as NRG, through its eVgo program, are also adding fast chargers throughout the country. The continued increase is good news for drivers of the Mitsubishi i (okay, we admit, there are not that many of them out there) and future drivers of the Kia Soul EV, as both of the models are CHAdeMO-compatible. Granted, the US has nothing on Europe, where the number of CHAdeMO stations has jumped to more than 1,000 from about 600 stations early last year. Nissan expects the continent to have about 1,800 fast-charging stations by year end. Still, the number of US CHAdeMO stations dwarfs the number of Tesla Motors' Supercharger stations, which total about 100.
Nissan could have bought a stake in Aston Martin as early as 2012
Mon, 08 Sep 2014Aston Martin has a very interesting future ahead of it. While the British brand appeared to be struggling with aging tech for a while, fresh investment from Daimler may have shown a light toward the future with the brand getting engines and electronics from them. Also, former Renault-Nissan top exec Andy Palmer has jumped ship from the French/Japanese automaker to become CEO of the much smaller sports car company. Interestingly, though, new reports from unnamed Nissan sources have indicated that Palmer has been pushing to work with AM for years.
Three unnamed company insiders told Reuters that Palmer made attempts to convince Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn in 2012 and 2013 to invest in Aston Martin, but his proposals were shot down both times for unspecified reasons, according to Automotive News. "We looked carefully at the proposal but we passed on it," said one of the sources.
You can easily see why Palmer was eying Aston Martin even back in 2012. It's no secret that the British sports car mavens were in need of extra funding, well before the Daimler investment. Building vehicles these days is only getting more expensive with stronger safety and emissions requirements. Just look at the brand's desperate hope to get a side-impact crash exemption to keep selling its models in the US as an example.
