2007 Nissan Murano Sl Sport Utility 4-door 3.5l (70k Miles/excellent Condition) on 2040-cars
Honolulu, Hawaii, United States
Up for sale is a 2007 Nissan Murano SL AWD with only 70,500 miles. It is in EXCELLENT condition. I am the second owner and am a single working professional with no pets (meaning kids and animals have not seen the inside of this car). The oil was changed this month and the Nissan Service center found nothing wrong with the car (I do have the paperwork). In fact, I had the sales department do an appraisal while I was there, and they could not believe it was an '07 due to its pristine condition. Why I'm selling: I'm returning to the mainland after 3 years in Hawaii. Rather than dealing with the hassle of shipping it back to the east coast, I've decided to leave it here on island. Potential buyers: The Murano is extremely versatile. It's "cool" enough for a single person in their 20's (like me), but spacious and reliable enough for a busy family, too! I would imagine that this would be a great car for a military family who came with only 1 POV (or single military with no POV, for that matter). Why? Because it's reliable, has low mileage, and will still have great resale value in 2-3 years. Price: Based on its low mileage, features, and overall condition, KBB suggests a private sale value between $13,600 and $14,400. I have chosen the low end of this spectrum mainly because I want to avoid having to take it back to the mainland with me. I am willing to negotiate based on a few factors: 1. We agree to have it seen by a mechanic (Nissan service center) prior to sale. If there are any mechanical issues (there were not last time I was in for an oil change), we can adjust the price to reflect repair costs. 2. I would like to keep the car until Dec. 22, the day I officially leave the island. If you are willing to work with me on this, I will consider reasonable offers. In the case that you absolutely cannot wait, I will make other arrangements. 3. Currently, I still owe a bit of money on the vehicle. Because of this, I don't hold the title. I have contacted a Honolulu escrow service who I will pay to handle the sale. This protects you (the buyer) and me (the seller). The sale process (e.g., payment, obtaining the title, signing title over to buyer) will take 2-3 days. Vehicle specs: General specs are available through Google (and I'm sure if you are looking for a Murano, you're already well-versed on its features and specifications). So, as for this specific Murano... -Black exterior with black leather interior -Power moonroof -Heated front seats (not that you'll be needing this in Hawaii--however, there are some cold "winter" mornings that I use the heated seats) -More importantly, COLD A/C -Power seats -Dual airbags -Back seats not only fold down (to create a WHOLE lot of cargo space), but also recline. It is extremely spacious back there regardless (nobody has ever complained about leg room). -Tech screen that displays fuel economy, maintenance (tire pressure, oil change schedule, fluid levels), music, etc. GPS is not enabled. -I find that it gets around 21 mpg in the city and often over 30 mph highway. When I drove cross country to ship out of California, I managed 34 mpg! -Keyless entry and start (as long as the key is within 3 feet of the vehicle, you can lock/unlock the doors and turn start). -Trunk space is incredible and features a heavy duty rubber mat and removable cargo cover. -6 CD changer with premium BOSE sound system -CVT transmission is still under warranty. -Rear camera Condition and other things you should know (because honesty IS truly the best policy): -This car is in excellent condition. I have the oil changed every 3 months at a Nissan service center and have the vehicle detailed approximately twice per year. The backseat looks completely unused, and I've clearly taken good care of the car. As long as I've owned it, it's been garage-kept. -This car has been in 2 very minor accidents ("fender benders"). Both happened in a parking lot and resulted in very minor, superficial damage that was repaired at a licensed body shop. No structural damage was sustained either time. -I replaced the battery in the last 6 months with a "super battery" that cost me nearly $200. I'm not very car savvy, so I can't say what makes the battery so great, but apparently it is! -The tires probably have about 1 year left on them depending on how much you drive. With dry road conditions 90% of the time, it could be even longer than that. -There is a small hole (approximately 3/4 inch in diameter) in the interior plastic of the tailgate. If the tailgate is open and you look up, you can see it. If you're sitting in the trunk, you can see it. Otherwise, it's not something you'd notice. -There is one rather deep scratch on the exterior, driver's side door, approximately 3-4 inches long (thank you, super small parking stalls on post). It is completely superficial and not something I am willing to repair at this point. -I recently found a hairline tear in the driver's seat leather. It's on the side where the power seat buttons are located. I am currently looking into having it repaired. -I do not have ALL of the service records, but do have many. Again, this is a beautiful car with all the bells and whistles. It has low mileage and has been well cared for. I am willing to negotiate on the price, as per the factors I outlined above. Reasonable offers will be considered. I have many more pictures. If you would like to view them, please indicate that in your message. I respond to emails very promptly, but if you'd like me to call you, please leave a phone number and time that is most convenient. The vehicle is located in Honolulu (near Ward), but I am willing to meet at a mutually agreeable location should you wish to view/test drive the car. Thanks for looking! |

Nissan may take control of struggling Mitsubishi Motors
Wed, May 11 2016Update: The reports were largely correct. Nissan will take a 34 percent stake in Mitsubishi for roughly $2.2b. Read all about it here. Reports say Nissan will buy a controlling stake in Mitsubishi Motors, either 30 or 34 percent, for about 200 billion yen or $1.84 billion. Nissan and Mitsubishi motors are currently part of a joint venture, NMKV, to build minicars together. Nissan is also responsible for reporting fuel-economy discrepancies with cars built under the joint-venture agreement, which put Mitsubishi in its current weakened state. Earlier today, reports surfaced that the fuel-economy issues were wider ranging than originally thought. Mitsubishi now admits that all of its Japanese-market cars sold since 1991 could have had faked fuel-economy data. Shares of Mitsubishi Motors have dropped by about half since the scandal was uncovered, opening the door for a takeover. While Nissan is a much larger company, it can benefit from Mitsubishi's 60-percent share of Japan's minicar market. The two companies also had plans to build electric vehicles together in the joint venture. Japan's Nikkei reports that talks are ongoing between the company and that a decision could be made Thursday by the companies' boards. Related Video: News Source: Nikkei Green Mitsubishi Nissan
Recharge Wrap-up: Big Oil fails at renewable fuel, scientists study air with EVs, plug-in Panamera sales
Thu, Jul 10 2014Big Oil companies help keep renewable fuels out of your tank, a new report shows. No surprise there, right? The Renewable Fuels Association published a report card grading the country's largest retail gasoline chains on fuel offerings like E85 and E15. The report gave failing grades, with less than one percent of stations offering E15 or E85, to "Big Five" companies Exxon, BP, ConocoPhillips, Chevron and Shell, among other oil company and convenience/grocery store brands. The only major oil companies that didn't get an "F" were Valero (D), Cenex (B), and Marathon (A-). The eight companies that scored an A+ had at least 25 percent of their stations offering E85 or E15. Beginning July 4, University of Leicester researchers began driving electric vehicles kitted out with special sensors to monitor air quality throughout the city (similar to how California does it). Now their emissions-free daily driving duties double as data collection for their studies. "By monitoring air quality as a seamless part of our daily transport system, we are providing a cost-effective way to help inform future policy and operational systems," says the University's Dr. Roland Leigh. "There is no doubt electric cars are the future." – Nissan's Andy Palmer Nissan is exploring the idea of taking its Leaf EV to India, but a lack of charging options is an obstacle. According to Nissan's chief planning officer Andy Palmer, "There is no doubt electric cars are the future. The product is there, what we need is infrastructure. Charging is a big challenge." Though Nissan stopped short of saying it (this time), this could possibly mean working with Mahindra, which said it is open to collaborating with other companies concerning EVs. Learn more in this article from the Hindustan Times and know that India is rolling out a plan to encourage the production and adoption of EVs. The National Electric Mobility Mission Plan will get over $2 billion in funding, and some of that will go toward creating a charging infrastructure (you hear that, Nissan?). This is good news for EV manufacturers, India's economy and people who enjoy breathing clean air. Andy Palmer leaves Renault-Nissan to serve as CEO of Aston Martin
Tue, 02 Sep 2014Aston Martin has been without a helmsman since Ulrich Bez stepped down from the chief executive office at the end of last year, stepping back to serve as non-executive chairman in a semi-retired ambassadorial capacity. The British automaker, now on the cusp of a new era, has been running without a CEO since, but has now named Bez's replacement in Andy Palmer.
If you don't recognize the name, you should: Palmer has worked under the Renault-Nissan Alliance for decades now, rising through the ranks to become one of the top executives under Carlos Ghosn. Most recently he was serving as executive vice president of the entire group and chairman of the Infiniti brand, but like Carlos Tavares, who recently left Renault to run Peugeot, Palmer is now embarking on a new mission as CEO of Aston Martin.
Once the transition period is complete at the start of October, Palmer's role as Chief Planning Officer at Renault-Nissan will be assumed by Philippe Klein, who steps up from his current role as executive vice president of product planning for Renault. Read the statements from both companies below.
