2014 GT-R® Track Edition Only 80 in the U.S. remain! Only 16 left in the whole Southeast! Link To Video… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl4_JDJsrpc The Track Edition features a stiffer suspension with specialized Bilstein® Damptronic® gas pressure shocks and higher spring rates. A new front spoiler with carbon fiber air ducts increases cooling to the front brakes, and rear brake cooling has also been refined through extensive track testing. [*] At the the tail end, literally, is a dry carbon fiber spoiler, a marvel of race engineering that the Track Edition shares with the Black Edition. Nissan Extended Warranty Is Available The racing ideal: add only what you need, and get rid of what you don’t. When GT-R® took its first screaming lap around the N?rburgring in 2007, we had this ideal in mind. We still believe in it today. Introducing the 2014 GT-R® Track Edition. From start to finish, each GT-R® engine is handcrafted by its own master engine-builder in a climate-controlled "clean room." Each twin-turbo V6 is precisely assembled from lightweight, highly durable aluminum and magnesium parts. It takes the exacting standards of the plant's most talented and devoted engine builders to produce the engine that has redefined what a supercar can be. Hit the accelerator and you feel more than raw power. The 545-hp twin-turbo V6 has massive strength, but it’s highly refined, even earning a ULEV-II emissions rating. Rather than traditional cast-iron liners, each cylinder features a unique plasma coating with an independent intake system for each bank of cylinders. The powerful twin turbo takes advantage of a Premium Midship (PM) design for balance, where much of the engine sits back in the chassis. Uniquely brilliant, built to perform. Two clutches, no clutch pedal. The GT-R® 6-speed sequential dual-clutch transmission shifts as quickly as 0.15 seconds when in R-Mode. Inside are separate clutches for the odd and even gears. When in an odd-numbered gear, the adjacent even-numbered gear is "pre-selected," ready to make the shift immediately. Then, to achieve ideal front-to-rear weight distribution, the GT-R® clutches, transmission and transfer case are mounted in the rear of the chassis, creating the world’s first independent rear transaxle for an All-Wheel Drive vehicle. The average car has exposed working gear under the car, where wind whips around, creating lift, reducing traction, and slowing you down. The GT-R®, of course, isn’t an average car. Its underbody is virtually covered by composite panels, giving it a flat, aerodynamic surface. You don’t need a backseat driver when you’re on the track, so to save weight, the rear seats have been removed. Up front, blue/gray leather-appointed performance seats have integrated headrests, bolsters, and high-grip inserts to keep you in place.

Nissan Juke facelift teased before Geneva
Tue, 25 Feb 2014Nissan's funky Juke mini-CUV is set to get a refresh at next week's Geneva Motor Show. If you're thinking that the Japanese automaker will take the opportunity to scale-back some of the crossover's polarizing exterior, think again: Nissan claims the new vehicle will feature an "even more striking design." And with stronger-than-expected sales worldwide for the model, we don't see the company's designers capitulating with a meek-faced mid-life update.
For now, the only look we have of this "striking design" is the teaser image shown up top (go ahead and click on it for a closer look). Nissan is also promising improvements in efficiency and refinement, although what that means for the Juke's fun-to-drive character is unclear.
Because we live in an age dominated by social media, the new Juke will perform a slow striptease on a variety of social networks, according to Nissan. It won't be a full reveal, but there should be some clues as to what the CUV's overall look will evolve into, before it's shown in all its glory in Geneva.
Panoz and DeltaWing suing Nissan over BladeGlider concept
Mon, 02 Dec 2013Similarity is bound to occur in an industry where most of the products follow the same basic formula. But once in a while a new design comes along that doesn't quite reinvent the wheel, but comes pretty damn close. The DeltaWing project was one such design - and Nissan, the car's designers allege, stole that design.
After the DeltaWing proposal was rejected by the IndyCar series, its creators took it to Le Mans and brought Nissan on board to supply the power. Nissan subsequently pulled out of the program and came out with the ZEOD RC hybrid racer (right), bearing a suspiciously similar design with an unusually narrow front track at the end of a long nose cone, and a wider track at the back. The Japanese automaker then displayed the BladeGlider concept (below, right) at the Tokyo Motor Show, envisioning a translation of the same formula into road-going form.
The similarity did not escape Don Panoz, who - after making sports and racing cars under his own name and founding the now-defunct American Le Mans Series - was a central figure in bringing the original DeltaWing to life. Now Panoz has filed a lawsuit against Nissan, soliciting the courts to issue a cease-and-desist order on both the ZEOD RC and BladeGlider projects, naming Nissan motorsport chief Darren Cox and Ben Bowlby (who defected to Nissan from the DeltaWing program) as part of the suit.
Takata air bag recall list
Tue, Dec 9 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed yesterday that 33.8 million vehicles with Takata airbags are going to be recalled. It's the largest recall in automotive history. The already record-breaking rate of automotive recalls this year shows no signs of slowing down, especially since millions of cars with defective airbags made by global supplier Takata are under ongoing scrutiny. The federal government is warning owners that inflator mechanisms in the air bags can rupture, causing metal fragments to fly out when the bags are deployed. The faulty air bags have already been blamed for multiple deaths. How do you know if your vehicle is safe? The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released an updated list of vehicles under recall. Sometimes however, the government's website will crash and the list may not be complete. Check your VIN at the NHTSA website to make sure. The list of cars affected by the recall has not been released, but seem to span multiple models over the years for many of the automakers.
