You are looking at a beautiful 2009 Nissan GT-R Premium. It was purchased new in Killeen, TX by a local Austin resident. They had a clear bra put over the whole front fascia, mirrors, and behind the wheels to protect the Super Silver paint (a $3,000 option). This GT-R is as clean as they come (and with only 6,898 miles, it should be). The black leather interior is as-new too. This GT-R was driven on a regular basis (not put in storage) and it enjoyed the luxury of being garaged when it was not out enjoying the road. It has NOT been tracked. The owner sold it only because he preferred the German feel in his cars (his other vehicles are German).  He traded it in towards an Audi R8.

It does come with all the options -- Premium Package ($2,240), navigation, Bose premium audio (with 2 subwoofers), side curtain airbags (yes, this was an option on the GT-R), power heated seats, carpet floor mats (with the GT-R logo - $200) and nitrogen-filled Bridgestone high performance summer run-flat tires.

This GT-R has a clean AutoCheck Report and shows no evidence of any paintwork or bodywork. It was never smoked in and it still smells like a new car. The tires are in excellent condition and have lots of life left in them. This GT-R comes with both smart keys and all the books/manuals. It comes with the remainder of the factory warranty -- a 5 year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty (from its original purchase date and 0 miles).

There were two aftermarket modifications to this GT-R:  it was wired for a Valentine 1 radar detector (there is a plug that comes out behind the mirror) and an aftermarket mid pipe (the part between the catalytic converters and the muffler) was installed to give it a throatier sound.  It still (and always has) had the original factory catalytic converters and mufflers installed.  As with any used car it may have a minor defect or two, but none are apparent as I inspect the car inside and out.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!  Have a wonderful day!

Here’s the not-so-fun but necessary stuff to make sure all the terms of the auction are clearly understood:

We will gladly pick you up at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) free of charge, at a pre-arranged mutually agreed-upon time.  Our office is located only a few minutes away.

All sales are subject to a 0.1985% Texas Vehicle Inventory Tax (VIT) and a $5.00 buyer’s tag fee (for your temporary license plate) even if you plan to register the vehicle out of Texas or export it out of the USA.  For example, a $10,000 purchase results in a $19.85 VIT.  If you are registering the vehicle in Texas, you will also be required to pay 6.25% sales tax and $97.25 for title and registration.  If you are not registering the vehicle in Texas, you will be responsible for taxes, title, and license fees in your own state.  Stressless Auto does not charge a documentation or processing fee.

This vehicle is a used car and is sold AS-IS.  We do our best to accurately and completely describe the vehicle.  It is available for your inspection any time by appointment before the auction ends.  If you have any questions, we will be glad to assist you, but you must ask them before bidding. Miles posted in this listing may vary slightly due to local test-driving or road testing.  If the vehicle has over 100,000 miles or is over 10 years old, it will be sold as miles exempt.

If you are planning to ship the car, you are responsible for all shipping costs.  We will be glad to work with your shipping company to schedule the car’s pickup.  We strongly recommend the use of an enclosed carrier but it will be your decision because you are responsible for arranging the shipping.  If you are in central Texas, we *may* be able to deliver the vehicle to you for an extra fee - please contact us for details and costs.  The vehicle must be picked up no more than 17 calendar days from the end of the auction.  A $50 per day storage fee will apply should you choose to leave it longer than 17 calendar days without making arrangements prior to bidding.

Only bidders with 95% positive feedback or better are permitted to bid on our auctions.  If you have lower than 95% positive feedback, your bid may be rejected.  Please speak with us before bidding.

Stressless Auto must receive your payment in full within 7 days of the end of the auction unless other arrangements are made before your bid is placed.  You must provide a non-refundable $500.00 deposit within 48 hours of the close of the auction.  This deposit can be made using cash, credit card (Visa, American Express, Discover, or Mastercard), PayPal, wire transfer, money order, or cashier’s check.  The remaining 90% must be paid using cash (in US Dollars), check, cashier’s check, or a bank wire transfer.  For checks and cashier's checks, the car and the title will be held for 10 business days to ensure the check clears.  The auction price is the cash price - we allow you to pay with a credit card for an additional 3% convenience fee.

Please understand that your bid is a legally binding contract that commits you to complete the purchase.  Should you choose to back out of your commitment, you will forfeit your non-refundable deposit to cover our costs, time, and lost opportunity.

This vehicle is for sale locally as well.  We reserve the right to end the auction early as long as the reserve has not been met.

All obligations pursuant to this contract shall be performed in Travis County, Texas.  This vehicle shall be delivered at Stressless Auto’s location in Travis County, Texas.  All obligations of the winning bidder shall be payable in Travis County, Texas.

It is agreed by all parties in relation to any transaction involving this vehicle that the proper venue for any legal proceedings shall be Travis County, Texas.

It is our objective to help our customers be satisfied with their purchase.  We try very hard to treat our customers fairly, as we would want to be treated.  We also expect our customers to use this philosophy in their dealings with us.  We will gladly work with you around scheduling or payment terms if you contact us prior to placing your bid.  Please check our feedback and bid with confidence!  Good luck and happy bidding!

Bathurst 12-hour gallery is GT3 heaven [w/video]

Mon, Feb 9 2015

The 2015 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12-Hour race was run this weekend at the Mt. Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, Australia. Race photographer Joel Strickland sent us a huge batch of photos, all of which make us salivate for the switch to GT3 rules in the United SportsCar Championship; the top seven finishers at Bathurst were of seven different makes: Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3, Audi R8-LMS Ultra, Aston Martin Vantage GT3, Bentley Continental GT3, Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, Ferrari F458 Italia and Lamborghini Gallardo. It was a sweet victory for the No. 35 car driven by the NISMO Athlete Global Team after it crashed in Saturday qualifying, and then was only in third place on the penultimate lap. The three-man driving team included two GT Academy winners, one of whom, Florian Strauss, has only been a professional race car driver for 18 months. It's the first time the GT-R has won at Panorama since the original R32 "Godzilla" took back-to-back wins in 1991 and 1992. Second place went to the No. 15 Phoenix Racing Audi R8-LMS Ultra, 2.4 seconds behind the winners, third to the Craft Bamboo Racing Aston Martin Vantage not even half a second behind the Audi. The Bentley Motorsport team, in its first Bathurst 12-Hour with two cars, had its No. 10 Continental GT3 in the lead until the penultimate lap and in second place until the final corner, but crossed the line in fourth after some rubbin'-is-racin' action from chasers. And if pictures aren't enough, as of writing you can still watch the live stream of the entire race at the Bathurst 12-Hour site. Or, if you don't have the time, at least be sure to check out the last five minutes, below. Enjoy. Nissan design to show more Chinese influence

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

Nissan is going to be leveraging the weight of the Chinese market by selling cars influenced by the People's Republic in other markets around the globe. The influence of Chinese design is further proof of the country's importance on a global scale. Nissan isn't the only manufacturer that's looking to leverage China's burgeoning design talent, as BMW, Volkswagen, and General Motors have all set up facilities.
In fact, VW and GM have both used Chinese talent to design cars, in the Passat and Buick LaCrosse, respectively. Nissan has already tested the waters with its Beijing studios, penning the Friend-Me Concept from this year's Shanghai Auto Show. Where GM and VW used their Shanghai-based studios as more consultancies than anything else, though, Nissan is aiming to have the Beijing studio design a global car.
According to Nissan's global design head, Shiro Nakamura, that's already happening. Nakamura told Reuters that Nissan is two years from launching a Chinese-designed global model that will see sales in both North America and Europe, in addition to its home market. While Nakamura wouldn't elaborate on what the new model's styling would entail, there's a focus on what the Chinese call daqi.

Roller coaster or racecar, which pulls more Gs?

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Looking for a thrill? You're not the only one. You'll find kindred spirits at airfields going up for a skydive, atop bridges and towers with bungees attached to their feet and standing in line for roller coasters at the local amusement park. But you'll also find them in the paddock at the racing circuit.
So what's the commonality? G-force. It's like gravity, only in each of these cases, it's experienced by human invention. But which activity subjects your body to the greatest amount of g-force? That's what Nissan set to find out.
Before putting them back in the cockpit, Nismo sent out two of its young hot-shoes - Jann Mardenborough and Mark Shulzhitskiy - to an amusement park in the UK with a camera and a g-force meter to find out if any of the coasters could produce as much lateral gravitational force as an LMP2 racing car. See what they found in the pair of videos, below.
