ORIGINAL OWNER selling this 2009 GT-R Premium, purchased new in June 2009. Car is in near-perfect condition - not a single ding or scratch, never any smoking (or even food allowed), and stored in climate-controlled garage. Rare titanium paint color only available in MY2009. Almost exclusively highway/country driven. Adult owned, never launched, raced or abused. That doesn't mean I haven't made Godzilla a little better, and without compromising drivability or reliability. Upgrades include AMS Alpha 6 package (AMS down- and catted mid-pipes, HKS Legamax exhaust, Cobb AccessPort (included)), ID hi flow injectors, Cobb intakes, Stillen steel-braided brake lines, AP Racing slotted rotors. All mods installed by IveyTune, Linden NJ; all routine service done by authorized Nissan dealer. Since I never race it, I can't tell you what the 1/4 time is, but the car is astonishingly quick. Car has two steering wheel-selectable states of tune: 525WHP and 545WHP, with the latter making 578 ft lbs of torque @3800 RPM on IveyTune dyno. Despite this ferocity, the car has been a semi-daily driver and performs like a champ year-round, although I choose not to drive it in snow because of the road salt/sand. Car has never been in an accident and has had no mechanical issues of any kind, other than some minor electronic annoyances (radio/nav head unit had lost the Music Box functionality, and the fuel gauge backlight flickered, but both were replaced by Nissan last year under warranty). In 2012, the radiator cover was hand signed by Kazutoshi Mizuno, who recently retired from Nissan after 40 years as the lead engineer of the GT-R program. I'm regretfully selling because I want to make room in garage for something new. Car is located in central NJ, about 15 miles from PA border. Car can be picked up in person, or shipping arranged at buyer's expense. Payment must be confirmed before car released. |

Nissan Murano production fires up in America for first time [w/video]
Fri, 07 Nov 2014Production of the new, third-generation Nissan Murano has finally kicked off at the company's Canton, MS factory, marking not only the eighth vehicle built on the facility's lines, but also the first global product to be built there since it opened in 2003.
"The strategic investments that Nissan has made in Canton serve as a testament to the flexibility, efficiency and talent of our workforce and suppliers," said John Martin, Nissan's boss for manufacturing, supply chain management and purchasing. "In Canton, we build high-quality vehicles that compete and win globally, and the bold new Murano will build on that reputation."
The addition of Murano production, which joins Altima, Armada, Titan, Frontier, Xterra and NV, brought a further 1,300 jobs.
GT-R takes on Altima V8 Supercar and Leaf Nismo in Nissan time attack special
Fri, 14 Mar 2014One of the support races for the Clipsal 500 V8 Supercar race in Australia was a Nissan showcase in the form of a time attack challenge: at the starting line were the Nissan Leaf Nismo RC, a GT-R and an Altima V8 Supercar. The 80-kilowatt Leaf Nismo RC was given a seven-second head start on the 545-horsepower GT-R and a 26-second lead on the 600-hp Altima V8 Supercar in hopes that it could get around the 3.21-kilometer course first.
Nissan's not afraid to burn the Leaf Nismo RC's rubber at the track, recently letting video series Translogic hit the kerbs, and it's put it up against some competition, having raced a Tesla Roadster - and lost. The odds were a bit better this time, but it wasn't the finish the hosts expected. Now a race commentator, the driver in the GT-R, Neil Crompton, finished on the podium of the Toohey's 1000 race in an R32 GT-R in 1992.
You can watch the hard-fought time attack in the video below. Skip ahead to 3:43 if you just want the action, but Crompton's recap of every driver interview ever is worth a watch at 2:41.
Nissan GT-R takes a bloody whack at supercar rivals in fake ads
Mon, 23 Jun 2014A big part of what makes a supercar super is how it makes you feel, but the performance stats and bragging rights are undeniably a big part of the equation as well. Which means you can't ignore the fact that, even with its price ever escalating, the Nissan GT-R makes minced meat out of European exotics costing twice or three times as much.
That's the inspiration for this trio of fake ads from photographer Tim Kent. In this mock campaign, Kent has depicted the GT-R as a butcher's knife and the European exotics as pieces of slaughtered meat. Ferrari is symbolized by a package of horse meat, Porsche by a pack of sausages and Lamborghini as a pair of, um... "prairie oysters".
Of course the ads are never going to run anywhere, and if you're squeamish (or vegetarian) we wouldn't suggest looking at them in close proximity to your lunch. But we have to admit they're creative, and effective.
