2009 Nissan Gt-r on 2040-cars

This GT-R, car #67, was the first GT-R to run and finish the Gumball 3000. That event took place in May 2009 from
L.A. to Miami.
Preserving that special part of the car’s history, this GT-R still retains the Gumball 3000 event decals and the
custom electronics that were installed to avoid the “state revenue collectors” during the “rally.”
Only three teams received awards in 2009. This GT-R and the drivers, were awarded “Best Navigators.” A
laser-engraved “Gumball 3000” Macbook 5,1 was presented to us at the award ceremony. The Gumball 3000 Macbook,
along with some new, unworn Gumball 3000 apparel (T-shirts and baseball caps), is included in the purchase of this
GT-R.
Here are what I'd consider to be the highlights of this car:
One owner - 2009 Nissan GT-R Premium.
Titanium over Black. Mint condition!
Purchased new in September 2008. Never abused. Never “launched.”
Always stored in climate controlled facility.
Clear title. No accidents. No curb rash on the wheels. No repaints.
Original window sticker in perfect condition, owner’s manual, warranty books and keys.
Always serviced at the Nissan dealer by trained GT-R technicians. Have all service receipts.
New Bridgestone run flat tires – with a couple hundred miles on them.
Original brakes (and dealer says the car doesn’t need new ones yet - how's that for a pampered life?)
100% stock, unmodified drivetrain
OEM JDM clear front-side marker lights – installed (original amber lights included)
OEM JDM clear rear market lights – included (not installed – didn’t want to remove rear bumper)
17,552 miles on the odometer (3,500 of those miles were racked up during the May 2009 Gumball 3000 rally
event).
The car’s custom electronics package (which helped to avoid even a single traffic citation - since new), was
installed by the artisans at Technicar in West Palm Beach, and includes:
Escort Passport 9500ci, surgically cut into rear-view mirror bezel and dash (see picture)
Front and rear laser jammers
Brake light flasher & disable switch
GPS-computer inhibit switch (allows co-pilot to update NAV while car in motion)
Remote CB radio with detachable antenna
Uniden Police band scanner
Upgraded iPod interface
This GT-R has been part of the Styles Collection from new and is currently on display at our automotive museum in
South Florida.
We're die-hard collector of ‘67-‘73 American and 1990’s Japanese muscle and would entertain trades. Right now
we are looking for a low-mileage, unmodified ‘93-‘98 MKIV Supra Turbo 6-speed and a ’97-’05 first-gen Acura
NSX.

Nissan Canada to end Versa sales with Micra launch
Mon, 24 Feb 2014There's plenty of space in Canada. In fact, with the second largest land mass of any country in the world, Canada has a population density of just nine people per square mile. But apparently there isn't enough room for more than one cheap Nissan in the True North, Strong and Free.
As you may recall, Nissan Canada recently announced it would begin offering the Micra hatchback with a starting price of less than ten thousand Canadian dollars - significantly less than the nearly $12k it charges for the Versa sedan. As a result, Nissan will reportedly cease offering the Versa sedan in new home of the olympic gold medal for hockey.
Apparently the Versa was a slow seller in Canada, a country in which European tastes tend to prevail - particularly in the Eastern provinces - more than they do in the United States to the south. Nissan evidently hopes that the Micra (a model created principally for the European market) will do better than the American-centric Versa ever did there. According to sales numbers cited by Automotive News, Nissan sold barely more than 12,000 Versa sedans and hatchbacks in Canada last year, but over 117,000 in the United States.
Nissan Altima takes first V8 Supercars win
Mon, 26 Aug 2013The V8 Supercars championship used to be strictly a contest between Holden and Ford. But just as BMW crashed the Audi and Mercedes party in DTM, so has Nissan (and for that matter, Mercedes) pushed past the door into Australia's popular touring car series. And like BMW, Nissan hasn't waited long before notching its first victory.
Nissan claimed the checkered flag this weekend in the first of three races at Winton, the ninth stop on the calendar. And what a spectacular win it was: not only did Nissan take the checkered flag, they finished one-two. James Moffat drove his Altima to the finish line just ahead of teammate Michael Caruso. It was Caruso who lead the first half of the race after qualifying just behind defending champion (and current points leader) Jamie Whincup, who suffered a gearbox malfunction and retired on only the ninth lap.
Of course that's just one race out of 27 so far and 37 scheduled this season, so that won't be elevating Nissan or any of its drivers to the lead the same way that BMW did upon its return last season to DTM, but it's a good start and a cause to celebrate for Nissan. Mark Winterbottom (Ford) and James Courtney (Holden) won the following two rounds at Winton as Jamie Whincup (Holden) leads Will Davison (Ford) in the standings.
Nissan Xterra's fate hangs in the balance
Sat, 21 Sep 2013The Nissan Xterra might not be long for this world, according to a report from Edmunds. The rugged SUV, which has always been a bit more of a hardcore, purpose-built vehicle than the rest of the Nissan SUV range. But it has also suffered from slowing sales, low fuel economy relative to the competition and general neglect, as Nissan has focused on other offerings in its range.
"There are plans to replace it, there are always plans, (but) I am not sure it will happen. I would say in the next six months to a year," Pierre Loing, vice president of product planning for Nissan Americas told Edmunds. Part of the problem, he added, was that the Xterra is a US-only vehicle, which makes it a hard sell in a world where automakers are increasingly depending on global cars.
Besides the economic forces working against the Xterra, it's just a vehicle that hasn't been a huge sales success of late. Customers are more conscious of fuel economy and a body-on-frame SUV that only nets 16 miles per gallon just isn't good enough; arguably why Nissan barely sold 17,000 units last year. We can hold out hope, as the Xterra remains a fun off-roader that we'd hate to see go, but unless Nissan finds a business case or some global partners, this is a vehicle that is on its last leg.
