2006 Nissan Frontier Se Crew Cab 4x4 *project Truck* - Good Condition 4.0l 6 Cyl on 2040-cars
Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States
This is my 2006 Nissan Frontier, it is in great condition EXCEPT, it needs an engine. The current engine spun a bearing and does not run. I purchased this truck in 2006 and am the second owner. I have already purchased a new truck but was planning on fixing this up in my spare time, I have a very clean good used motor out of a 2008 with only 80k miles on it that is included with the truck. Unfortunately I just haven't had the time to spend on it and could use the space back in my garage. Check ebay and you'll see 2006's selling in the $9-12k range, so this is a good deal if you have the time and ability to install an engine. I'll include the shop manual for the truck as well. Other than the engine, the truck is in great condition. Everything works as it should, four wheel drive operates smoothly - this truck is great in the snow. There are some slight scrathes and dings, but overall the paint and body are in excellent condition for its age- no rust anywhere. The drivers front fender does have some damage from where a fence post fell onto it a couple years ago, the truck has never been in an accident. The tires have plenty of tread on them. Here is a list of the options: Reclining front bucket seats 60/40 rear folding seats (the lower seats fold up or the uppers fold down flat) Fold flat front passenger seat 16" Alloy Wheels AM/FM/CD Player 2" Receiver hitch (5,800# rated) with large round electrical coupler Extang tri-fold tonneou cover (only 6 months old!) Both front catalytic converters replaced this fall Cruise control ABS 4X4 Hi/Lo range Remote keyless entry (two remotes, two keys) Power windows / Power locks Tinted rear windows Rear defrost A/C Utilitrac bed tie down system with four adjustable anchors and cargo light Please feel free to contact me with any questions, the truck is located in Plymouth MA 02360, about a mile off route 3 exit 6.

Why Japan's government is looking to curb its adorable kei car market
Tue, Jun 10 2014Each region around the world has its stereotypical vehicle. The US has the pickup and Europe the five-door hatchback; but in Japan, the kei car reigns supreme. These tiny cars are limited to just 660cc of displacement but they've also come with lower taxes to make them more affordable. To make of the most of their small size, they've often had quite boxy styling like the Honda N-One shown above, and because they're Japanese, they've often had quirky names like the Nissan Dayz Roox. However, if the Japanese government has its way, the future popularity of these little guys might be in jeopardy. The problem facing them is that Japan is an island both literally and figuratively. After World War II, the Japanese government created the class as a way to make car ownership more accessible. The tiny engines generally meant better fuel economy to deal with the nation's expensive gas, and the tax benefits also helped. It's made the segment hugely popular even today, with kei cars making up roughly 40 percent of the nation's new cars sales last year, according to The New York Times. The downside is that these models are almost never exported because they aren't as attractive to buyers elsewhere (if indeed they even meet overseas regulations). So if an automaker ends up with a popular kei model, it can't really market it elsewhere. The government now sees that as a threat to the domestic auto industry. It believes that every yen invested into kei development is wasted, and the production takes up needed capacity at auto factories. The state would much rather automakers create exportable models. To do this, it's trying to make the little cars less attractive to buy, and thus, less attractive to build. The authorities recently increased taxes on kei cars by 50 percent to narrow the difference between standard cars, according to the NYT. If kei cars do lose popularity, it could open the market up to greater competition from foreign automakers. Several companies complained about the little cars stranglehold on the Japanese market last year, but since then, imported car sales there have shown some growth thanks to the improving economy. 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid
Tue, 29 Oct 2013If you've been keeping up with our long-term 2013 Nissan Pathfinder coverage, you already know that, generally speaking, we dig it. After racking up 21,000 miles (and climbing!) on our dear Sweet Brown, we've become very, very familiar with the Pathfinder package as a whole, and many of us actually prefer it over competitors like the Ford Explorer and Chevrolet Traverse.
For 2014, Nissan has added a new hybrid option for its Pathfinder, using an all-new powertrain that will also be shared with the CUV's Infiniti-badged QX60 sibling. As far as fuel economy is concerned, our long-term Pathfinder has had no problem hitting its EPA-estimated numbers of 19 miles per gallon city and 25 mpg highway, but this new hybrid model is said to be good for an increase in overall economy - 25/28 mpg (city/highway) when equipped with front-wheel drive and 25/27 mpg with optional four-wheel drive.
We recently took the 2014 Pathfinder Hybrid for a quick spin around the city streets of Nashville, TN. And while our time with the non-hybrid Pathfinder has been pretty enjoyable overall, at first blush, we're having a tougher time warming up to this electrified variant.
Nissan Micra overtaken by bees in England
Mon, 19 May 2014A 20,000-insect-strong colony of bees attempted to turn a Nissan Micra into their new hive on Friday. The invasion happened in the English town of Southsea, a suburb of Portsmouth, and is just one of a few unexpected bee swarms in the country in recent days.
The car belonged to a student, who alerted the local council. A beekeeper was called in to move the colony of European honey bees to a safer location, on the roof of a nearby church, where they can be tended to.
Scroll down for a video of the bees in full-on swarm mode on the back of the second-gen Micra.
