2002 Nissan Frontier Extra Cab XE 2wd Pick Up Mechanics Special
Silver Exterior, Grey Interior, Bed-liner, A/C, and CD Player. Vehicle also prepped to be towed behind RV with Base Plate and tow wiring. Here is an opportunity for someone with some time and mechanical experience. One day this vehicle was driven to the store and ran properly. It was shut off, then when restarted it had very low power. It was assumed that it had slipped a timing chain as it was nearing 100,000 miles. The timing chain has now been replaced and the condition still exists. I received the vehicle this way and have not had time to Troubleshoot it any further or repair it myself. To me it feels like it is starving for fuel. The Airflow Meter has been checked and has proven to be good. It has also been checked for vacuum leaks. The Check Engine light is not illuminated, and it has not produced a code since they were cleared. If you are really familiar with this vehicle and fuel system you may be able to come and fix it were it sits. I have not gotten to the point of checking Fuel Psi or the fuel psi regulator. Nissan's NY taxi deal faces court obstacles
Sat, 25 May 2013Nissan scored a big win for itself when the NV200 was named New York City's Taxi of Tomorrow, but the compact van has been under attack ever since. The latest setback for Nissan comes from the New York Supreme Court, which has reportedly ruled the deal between NYC and Nissan is "null, void and unenforceable" since the NV200 is not a hybrid - one of the key parts of NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg Taxi of Tomorrow plan.
The NV200 Taxi launches this October. Although Nissan says it is bringing a hybrid version of the van to market in 2015, the New York Supreme Court ruled against Nissan, which opens the door for taxi companies in NYC to drive non-Nissan hybrid vehicles. Despite this setback, it doesn't sound like this ruling will affect the NV200 becoming the official taxi of NYC as a part of the 10-year contract worth an estimated $1 billion.
Next Nissan GT-R to take cues from GT-R LM Nismo Le Mans entry
Fri, 06 Jun 2014For those wondering why Nissan named its coming Le Mans Prototype the GT-R LM Nismo, colliding the two worlds of sports car and prototype racing, an article in Autocar might have the answer. The deeper union is explained by saying that the next-generation GT-R will use "hybrid technology that will closely align it" with the GT-R LM Nismo.
The point could be further driven home by the fact that the GT-R LM Nismo will begin its FIA endurance racing campaign next year, and the next GT-R is due to debut next year as a 2016 model. The expectation is that it will use a hybrid system possibly dubbed R-Hybrid and perhaps developed by Williams. Just like performance car makers Ferrari and Audi, Nissan wants its racing efforts to pay off with road car technology, company vice president Andy Palmer saying they "want to link technological linkages between future evolutions of the GT-R and evolutions of what we do in LMP1, and the two do go in both directions."
The bigger question is, with the GT-R getting hybrid assistance, will it also get the weight gain that usually comes with it? Enthusiasts would love to see the trend reversed, especially on a car that's already no lightweight.
