Up for grabs is this almost new 2011 Nissan Frontier SV that was bought after being declared a recent fresh water storm victim. I personally bought this vehicle directly from the insurance company and must tell you this vehicle is basically brand new with only 25,975 on the odometer. It starts up and runs excellent. I drove it all weekend and it drives great. All the interior electronics work perfectly. By looking at this vehicle I still don’t understand why the insurance company branded it a flood vehicle. Inspecting it closely all I can see is very light water got into vehicle. The body is literally in like new condition. Look at the pictures it would be hard to find a nicer one!  The odometer reads 25,975 but the title is stamped not actual mileage due to the insurance company never trying to start the vehicle. The vehicle is sold with a 907a New York Salvage certificate. So before bidding I suggest you contact your local motor vehicle department and ask about registration and inspection. The Nissan is being sold completely “AS IS”…This auction is set with no reserve!!! The highest bidder will drive this car home! So what are you waiting for, check out my perfect feedback and bid with complete confidence. If you have any questions feel free to call me @ 860-478-8854. Thanks and good luck!

WARNING: THIS VEHICLE IS A VICTIM OF A FRESH WATER STORM. IT DOES RUN AND DRIVE EXCELLENT. AIR BAG light is flashing.  IT MAY NEED WORK IN THE FUTURE BUT IS GOING TO BE EXCELLENT VALUE! SAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! SOLD COMPLETELY “AS IS”. IT IS BEING SOLD WITH A NEW YORK 907A SALVAGE CERTIFICATE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR GETTING THE VEHICLE THROUGH YOUR OWN STATE INSPECTION. THIS VEHICLE IS CONSIDERED UNFIT FOR THE ROAD UNTIL INSPECTED.. WE WILL SIMPLY RE-ASSIGN THE CERTIFICATE TO YOU AND THE RESPONSIBILITY OF REGISTERATION IS YOURS..

Payment options:  A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the close of the auction. Balance to be paid within 7 days via certified funds. A $349.00 dealer conveyance fee is attached to the final price, this includes an oil change and visual vehicle inspection, paperwork preparation. Vehicle sold “AS IS”. I welcome any bidder or pre-bidder to come and personally inspect the vehicle prior to the auction ending. The winner of the auction is entering into a contract to purchase the vehicle.  Any vehicle sold with a salvage certificate is deemed unfit for the highway so the vehicle needs to be towed by you or a transport company home. I CAN NOT issue a temporary tag due to Connecticut Law. All we ask is you have the funds to back your bids. No excuses! No exceptions!

A realistic approach to fixing Mitsubishi

Tue, May 24 2016

There are going to be a lot of words written about what Nissan needs to do with Mitsubishi in the coming months and years in the interest of turning the brand around. After Nissan's purchase of a controlling stake in the diamond star brand, there's been more interest in Mitsubishi thanks to the potential of platform sharing and plenty of cash from Nissan-Renault to get the juices flowing again. But, while some have been doing their best to advocate for the return of the 3000GT, Evolution, and even the Starion - Many of these posts forget the reality of the market we live in today. As much as we like to look back fondly at the sports coupes of the '90s, a byproduct of the insane cash flows all the Japanese manufacturers had at the time, the reality of today puts a much greater emphasis on what is most-boring; Crossover SUVs, alongside mid-size and compact sedans. We do need to ask a fundamental question, how much Mitsubishi is enough to be able to continue to call the cars Mitsubishis? Aside from slight product revisions and reconfigurations, Mitsubishi (at least in North America) has been largely dependent on the same GS platform and 4B1 engines that date back to their long-time partnership with Chrysler (and Hyundai) in the mid '00s. Admittedly, the chassis and engines have served the company well, underpinning a wide variety of vehicles sold around the world, and seeing quite a few revisions to at least attempt to keep products competitive. But, the GS chassis is old, heavy, and severely out of date - and when matched to the underpowered 4B1 series engines - make for largely uncompetitive offerings in the market. While something like the Outlander Sport is indeed interesting compared to a Honda CR-V, it is by no means the smart choice in the segment. So, going forward, unless Mitsubishi has had a skunkworks of sorts developing their chassis and engine replacements over the past few years, what exactly are they planning to do for their bread-and-butter models? I think the straightforward answer is without a doubt the Nissan North America parts bin. With so many of their models selling well, and for the most part, are reasonably well-reviewed, it would be quite simple to adapt the chassis and powertrain to Mitsubishi's liking to create a high-volume alternative to what is currently available now.

Roller coaster or racecar, which pulls more Gs?

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Looking for a thrill? You're not the only one. You'll find kindred spirits at airfields going up for a skydive, atop bridges and towers with bungees attached to their feet and standing in line for roller coasters at the local amusement park. But you'll also find them in the paddock at the racing circuit.
So what's the commonality? G-force. It's like gravity, only in each of these cases, it's experienced by human invention. But which activity subjects your body to the greatest amount of g-force? That's what Nissan set to find out.
Before putting them back in the cockpit, Nismo sent out two of its young hot-shoes - Jann Mardenborough and Mark Shulzhitskiy - to an amusement park in the UK with a camera and a g-force meter to find out if any of the coasters could produce as much lateral gravitational force as an LMP2 racing car. See what they found in the pair of videos, below.

Ghosn: 'While I'm proud of our EV leadership, I know it's not enough.'

Thu, Dec 17 2015

Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has written something like a State of the Union on electric vehicles and the carbon economy. We'd sum it up as, 'we're working on it but we all need to work harder.' Ghosn believes all of the commitments made at the Paris COP21 climate change conference are a start, but "the support of the business community is imperative," in coordination with the public sector. He stresses that he's after an "orderly transition," one that uses what we have now in order to go where many believe we need to go. That means no threats or revolution, no "aggressive government intervention and centralized demand and control," but rather a "practical, affordable way to begin reducing dependence" on the fuel that turns the skies brown. Ghosn wraps up his manifesto this way: "The UN Secretary General recently said that we are the first generation to feel the effects of climate change and the last to be able to do anything to stop it. This is a call to action, and the auto industry is committed to doing its part." Based on the undeniable shift toward the electrification of the automobile, we know that the call is being answered. Given the limited market share EVs have today, it could still use some more people and companies picking up the phone. With vehicle numbers expected to grow from 800 million to more than two billion by 2050, "transition will occur one way or another," Ghosn writes. Head over to Forbes to read Ghosn's thoughts.
