2006 Nissan Altima Special Edition 2.5s on 2040-cars
Destin, Florida, United States
This Altima is 174,000 miles young! Most of these miles were interstate. Special Edition added power seat, wheel mounted audio controls, and auto headlights. This auction is listed by original owner--bought this car from Jackson, TN dealership in Feb 2006. Non-smoker. Nothing wrong with the car just tired of the same car after almost 8 years! I did not intend to sell for another year, but found another used car I loved and bought it.
Carpet and floor mats are in great shape. Floor mats are OEM Nissan and they are about 1 year old. Tires have 80% tread left on all four (matching Hankook tires), brakes/rotors replaced Dec 2013 (front & rear), engine mounts replaced July 2013, serpentine belt replaced 2012, and spark plugs replaced around 105k miles. Front end/hood/mirrors repainted in Sept 2013, front head light lenses replaced and front grill replaced at same time. Car has never been in accident--paint and front lights were replaced due to bug chips and cosmetic concerns.
Air condition and heater blows cold/hot. Replaced radio with Bluetooth Pioneer in 2013. Car drives and brakes straight--does not pull. All electronics/lights and cruise control work as they should. No rips in seats or upholstery. Would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere--drove to Tennessee and Louisiana for Christmas (can't beat the Altima gas mileage).
*As mentioned in "condition description", there is a water stain (lunch box leaked) on right front passenger seat (see pic) and the rear seat belt pulley isn't functioning correctly at this time.

Recharge Wrap-up: Fiat 500X emissions, Japan EV sales down
Thu, Feb 11 2016The Fiat 500X exceeds EU emissions limits, according to environmental lobby group DUH. In dyno tests, DUH found NOx emissions in the diesel-powered 500X to be 11 to 20 times the limit with a warm engine, but closer to the limit with a cold engine. Testing of vehicles from Fiat and other automakers "point towards defeat devices," says DUH campaigner Axel Friedrich. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) offered no comment in response to the accusations. Read more from Reuters. A UK study finds that about 20 percent of the benefits from fuel efficient vehicles are negated by a tendency for people to drive them more. The study, which covers the years 1970 to 2011, finds a significant "rebound effect," when consumers use more of a cheaper energy source. It suggests these drivers drive more not because of the fuel efficiency, but because of the lower operating costs. "Until now, we didn't know the size of this effect for British motoring," says Dr. Lee Stapleton, Research Fellow for the University of Sussex Centre on Innovation and Energy Demand. "We found evidence of a significant, long-term rebound and expect our results to be of interest for public policy." Read more at Green Car Congress. Japanese EV sales have declined for the first time ever. Sales of electric vehicles slid 22 percent in 2015, leaving them at the same levels as 2012. Low gasoline prices are to blame, as well as the late arrival of the updated Nissan Leaf, which caused potential customers to hold off on their purchase. This allowed the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV to take the lead as Japan's best selling EV. The Toyota Prius Plug-In came in third place in EV sales, with the BMW i3 close on its heels. Nissan e-NV200 EV charges into Tokyo
Fri, 22 Nov 2013Nissan has already shown its e-NV200 in Detroit and Frankfurt in conceptual form, now its home market is getting an up-close look at the production all-electric compact van at the Tokyo Motor Show. While it doesn't sound like the e-NV200 will be making its way to the US anytime soon, it will go on sale on sale in Europe in the middle of next year and in Japan by early 2015.
The electric NV200 will be built in Barcelona, Spain, and while that EV-minded city has committed to using the van for public transportation, Nissan's hometown of Yokohama, Japan will also put the zero-emission vehicle to work in its public services fleet. Nissan has yet to reveal the production specs for the e-NV200 - including range - we do know that it will share much of its drivetrain with smaller Nissan Leaf. Check out the press release posted below for more information about the e-NV200 and Nissan's EV efforts in Yokohama.
Bhutan asks Nissan, Mitsubishi for help with massive EV-only plan
Mon, Jul 7 2014Originally, the somewhat modest plan was to introduce 2,000 electric vehicles to the capital of Bhutan. Then things got bigger when Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn paid the country a visit and the Prime Minister of Bhutan, Tshering Tobgay, said his country, "will commit to a program to achieve zero emissions as a nation by a certain target date." Now we're approaching "holy huge" territory. Last week, Tobgay visited Japan to ask Nissan and Mitsubishi for help in possibly replacing every combustion vehicle with an all-electric option. "Gasoline is expensive and unfriendly to the environment." – Bhutan's Prime Minister At the very least, Bhutan wants to make more eco-friendly vehicles available. Tobgay told AsiaNews that, "Gasoline is expensive and unfriendly to the environment. Sustainable transportation will bring citizens happiness," which is something that a country that measures its Gross National Happiness is eager to track. Switching to electric vehicles makes complete sense in Bhutan, since the mountainous Asian nation produces more renewable hydro-electricity than it can use. Ninety-five percent of the zero-emission energy is exported to India, and Bhutan uses the profits to buy fuel from India to then power its vehicles. You can probably figure out for yourself how there's a simpler way to do this. News Source: AsiaNews.it Green Mitsubishi Nissan Green Culture Electric
