FOR SALE WE HAVE A 2005 NISSAN ALTIMA SE 3.5 LITER V6 WITH AUTO TRANSMISSION AND 100K ON IT. THIS VEHICLE WILL BE SOLD NO RESERVE PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION AND PLEASE SERIOUS BIDDERS WITH CASH AVAILABLE ONLY. IF YOU ARE NEW TO EBAY OR HAVE LESS THAN 20 FEEDBACK PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING OR YOUR BID MAY BE CANCELED. I JUST WANT TO ASSURE THAT ALL BIDDERS ARE SERIOUS AS THESE ADS COST TIME AND MONEY. THIS VEHICLE IS FOR SALE LOCALLY SO I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION AT ANY TIME. MILES MAY GO UP BY A COUPLE HUNDRED AT MOST FOR TEST DRIVES AND SUCH. SOLD AS-IS.

*EXTERIOR- I WOULD RATE THE EXTERIOR A 7.5 OUT OF 10. IT HAS A FEW MINOR DINGS HERE AND THERE, NOTHING SERIOUS, I TRIED TO TAKE PICS TO SHOW THEM. JUST NORMAL WEAR OF A 100K VEHICLE. IT HAS A FEW PAINT SCUFFS ON THE REAR BUMPER WHERE IT SHOWS MISSING PAINT, SHOWN IN PICS. IT HAS ONE SMALL SPOT OF SMALL RUST BUBBLES ON THE PASSENGER SIDE QUARTER PANEL I SHOWED IT IN THE PICS. I DONT SEE ANY RUST ANYWHERE ELSE AND THE UNDERNEATH OF THE CAR IS CLEAN. THE PAINT STILL SHINES VERY WELL FOR THE AGE AND WAS RECENTLY WASHED AND WAXED. THE WHEELS SHOW NORMAL SLIGHT CURB RASH/ MARKS/ WEAR, BUT OVERALL ARE IN GOOD SHAPE.

*INTERIOR- OUT WOULD GIVE THE INTERIOR A 8 OUT OF 10 IT IS IN VERY NICE SHAPE FOR THE AGE SHOWING ONLY NORMAL WEAR. SOME MINOR WEAR MARK AND DIRT ON THE DOOR PANELS AND CENTER A CONSOLE A LIGHT STAIN HERE OR THERE ON THE CARPETS OR SEATS BUT OVERALL VERY NICE INSIDE WAS JUST DETAILED AND SHOWS VERY WELL. IT HAS THE FLOOR MATS AND SOME RUBBER MATS TOO AND THE OWNERS MANUAL AND ORIGINAL BILL OF SALE. ALL INTERIOR OPTIONS WORK NICELY INCLUDING THE WINDOWS LOCKS RADIO AC TILT CRUISE HEAT

*MECHANICAL- THIS CAR JUST HAD SOME SERVICE WORK DONE TO IT TO GET IT READY FOR ITS NEW OWNER. WE PUT NEW BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS ON IT FRONT AND REAR SO THE BRAKES ARE ALL NEW. AT THE SAME TIME WE HAD BOTH TIE ROD ENDS DONE AND HAD NEW WIPER BLADES PUT ON AND A FRESH SYNTHETIC OIL CHANGE DONE. THE CAR RUNS AND SHIFTS GREAT AND HAS TONS OF POWER. AND WITH ONLY 100,900 MILES(MILES MAY GO UP SLIGHTLY BY AS MUCH AS A COUPLE HUNDRED FOR LOCAL TEST DRIVES AND SUCH) ITS A  VERY STRONG CAR, RUNS GOOD. ***THE CAR HAS A SLIGHT RATTLE/WHINE WHEN STARTED COLD AND THE GARAGE TOLD ME THAT IT NEED A TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER OR SHOE. THEY SAID THAT ALL THESE OLDER NISSANS WITH 3.5 MOTORS IN THEM HAVE A BIT OF THIS SOUND AND THAT IT DOESN'T EFFECT ITS RUNABILITY JUST HAS A LITTLE BIT OF COLD NOISE. AFTER GOOGLING IT I FOUND THAT EVERYBODY ELSE SAID THE SAME THING. IT GOES DOWN THE ROAD NICELY AND RIDES SMOOTH. THE TIRES ARE ABOUT 60 PERCENT OR SO I WOULD SAY SO THEY HAVE LOTS OF TREAD LEFT. ALL LIGHTS WORK AND GLASS HAS NO CRACKS OR ANYTHING. THERE IS NO WARNING LIGHTS LIT ON THE DASH. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO DRIVE THIS CAR ACROSS COUNTRY. THIS CAR WILL COME NEW YORK STATE INSPECTED FOR ITS NEW OWNER IF THEY ARE A RESIDENT OF NY. PLEASE LET ME KNOW AHEAD OF TIME SO I CAN GET IT INSPECTED FOR YOU.

*I WOULD SAY THE ONLY 2 ISSUES THIS CAR HAS IS THE SMALL RUST BUBBLES SPOT SHOWN IN THE PIC AND THE TENSIONER NOISE. IT IS A NICE LOOKING AND DRIVING CAR. PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS BIDDERS. ONLY BID IF YOU DO NOT HAVE FUNDS READILY AVAILABLE. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK THEM IN ADVANCE, NOT AFTER THE AUCTION. I INVITE ANY SERIOUS PARTIES TO COME DRIVE THE CAR IN PERSON OR SEE IT IN PERSON IF THEY WISH TO BEFORE BIDDING OR BEFORE AUCTION ENDS. THIS CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY SO I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION AT ANY TIME. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION SO THE HIGHEST BID WILL OWN THIS CAR. BY PLACING A BID YOU ARE OBLIGATED TO BE ABLE TO PAY FOR AND PICK THIS CAR UP IN A TIMELY FASHION.

*WINNING BIDDER PLEASE CONTACT ME BY PHONE AT 315-408-8513 WITHIN 24 HOURS OF AUCTION END. I REQUIRE A 500 DOLLAR NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUCTION END EITHER VIA PAY PAL OR IN PERSON. THE REMAINDER MUST BE PAID FOR WITHIN 10 DAYS AND VEHICLE PICKED UP BY THAT TIME TOO. I WOULD LIKE PAYMENT TO BE IN CASH BECAUSE MY BANK TAKES TO LONG TO CLEAR BANK CHECKS AND THERE IS TOO MANY SCAMMERS OUT THERE THESE DAYS. IF THE ONLY WAY YOU ARE ABLE TO PAY IS WITH A CERTIFIED BANK CHECK THEN PLEASE CONTACT ME FIRST TO ASK ME ABOUT IT AND THE CAR WILL NOT LEAVE UNTIL THE CHECK CLEARS IN MY BANK. I WOULD PREFER CASH BUT CAN WORK WITH YOU IF ITS A CERTIFIED BANK CHECK AND YOU WANT TO WAIT THE TIME FOR IT TO CLEAR BEFORE PICKING THE CAR UP.

*NEW YORK STATE BUYERS WILL HAVE TO PAY SALES TAX, OUT OF STATE BUYERS WILL PAY SALES TAX IN THERE OWN STATE, NOT TO ME. I DO NOT CHARGE ANY OTHER FEES AT ALL BECAUSE WE DO NOT REGISTER THE VEHICLE FOR YOU. THERE IS A DMV ABOUT 15 MINUTES FROM MY HOUSE WHERE YOU CAN REGISTER IT AND YOU WOULD PAY YOUR TITLE AND REGISTRATION FEES THERE IF YOU CHOOSE TO, I WILL BRING YOU THERE TO DO SO IF YOU WANT.

*I ONLY SELL VEHICLES TO US RESIDENTS, AND I DO NOT OFFER ANY TYPE OF SHIPPING, IF YOU WANT THE VEHICLE SHIPPED YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FINDING AND FUNDING YOUR OWN SHIPPING. I COULD POSSIBLY DELIVER THE VEHICLE WITHIN A REASONABLE DISTANCE(SAY 100 MILES OR SO) BUT ONLY IF YOU CONTACT ME FIRST AND IT IS NEGOTIATED I WOULD WANT TO BE COMPENSATED, BUT I CAN WORK WITH YOU.

*VEHICLE IS SOLD AS-IS AND IS NO RESERVE, CLEAN TITLE IN HAND READY TO GO. FOR SALE LOCALLY SO I CAN REMOVE THIS AD AT ANY TIME IF IT IS SOLD LOCALLY. ANY QUESTIONS CALL OR TEXT ME ANY TIME AT 315-408-8513, THANKS FOR READING MY AD, WES.

Can a car be lifted using rubber bands?

Sat, 19 Jan 2013

It's quite amazing what it takes to lift a car. We already know the feat can be accomplished using just a pair of phone books, but what about rubber bands? To the Internet! A video series appropriately titled "Will It Lift" attempted to find out by using a massive crane and a Nissan Micra weighing less than 1,800 pounds.
Doing a little math, the trio determined that it would take 180 rubber bands to support the car. A metal bar was placed through the window openings and another was place atop the car, and then attached together using the rubber bands and hooked to the crane. Now these aren't any special rubber bands or anything. They're just eight-millimeters thick, but the stunt is testing the rubber bands' power in numbers.
We're not going to spoil it for you, so scroll down to check out the video of the stunt.

Nissan Leaf hits 3,000 sales in July, Chevy Volt climbs over 2,000

Fri, Aug 1 2014

It was a good sales month for both the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt, with the two 'elder statesman' plug-in vehicles reaching numerical milestones in July. The Leaf sold 3,019 units and the Volt crossed the 2,000 sales level for the first time in 2014, hitting 2,020 sales. With Tesla also announcing it is delivering around 2,500 Model S EVs a month (but that's globally, compared to the US-only numbers for the Volt and Leaf we're talking about here) and Ford's plug-in vehicles selling well, we are certainly in a golden moment for EV sales. The Volt was a bright spot for the Bowtie brand last month. For the Volt, the 2,020 units sold represents a 13 percent increase from July of 2013 even thought year-to-date sales are down 8.7 percent this year compared to last year. Overall, total Chevrolet deliveries for July 2014 were up eight percent compared to 2013, so the Volt was a bright spot for the Bowtie brand last month. On the Leaf front, this is only the second time that the EV has sold more than 3,000 units in a month (the other being in May of this year). The year-over-year increase for the Leaf was 62 percent in July and represents the 17th straight month of record sales, as Nissan is more than happy to report each month. Overall, Leaf sales are up 34.6 percent, year-to-date, and Nissan's director of Leaf sales and infrastructure, Brendan Jones, said in a statement that a free public charging incentive was responsible. "Since we launched the No Charge to Charge promotion in the first 10 markets, we've seen a surge in Leaf sales in those areas. Leaf sales in the northeastern US are also picking up with new tax incentives for Massachusetts and Maryland residents." With No Charge To Charge set to expand to 25 markets over the next year, we expect Leaf sales to continue to grow. We will have our monthly look at all green car sales available soon, so stay tuned. Nissan Canada offers box-fresh racecar for $19,998 [w/video]

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Nissan is seriously emphasizing its commitment to motorsports with projects like next year's GT-R LM endurance racer at Le Mans and the company's participation with GT Academy. At least in Canada, the automaker is adding another opportunity to get people onto the track with the new Nissan Micra Cup one-make race series. Sure, the Micra might not as quick as a GT-R, but this series offers Canadians a chance to start racing for a reasonable price. Nissan claims the events have "the lowest running cost of any Canadian series," and we can't think of a cheaper turnkey new racecar in all of North America.
The cars are all based on the not-for-US Micra 1.6 S M/T model with a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine making 109 horsepower and 107 pound-feet of torque and a five-speed manual gearbox. The only real performance upgrades are a Nismo suspension kit, new exhaust, improved brake pads and sticky Pirelli tires. For added safety, the interior is entirely stripped out and is replaced with a full roll cage with a driver protection net, FIA-approved racing seat with five-point harness, fire extinguisher and front and rear tow hooks. The whole, race-ready package will set competitors back $19,998 Canadian dollars before taxes.
The inaugural Micra Cup series begins in May 2015, and the first season is exclusively taking place in Quebec, with the promise of moving to other provinces if it's a success. Each event includes a half hour of practice, a half hour of qualifying and a pair of half-hour races. Nissan is estimating impressive fields of over 25 cars of competitors.
