We inspect the vehicles when the vehicles are donated, and we try our best to describe the vehicle to the best of our knowledge. All vehicles are sold AS-IS. Please take the time to inspect the vehicles if you are bidding locally and bid accordingly. Cars2Charities will provide you with all the DMV paperwork that you will need in order to register the vehicle. Keep in mind any DMV fees, registration fees, transfer fees, late penalties and smog fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Cars2Charities will provide all California buyers with either a Smog Certificate at the cost of $58.25 (paid by the buyer) or a "certificate of non-compliance". Smog test will be done after vehicle is sold and determined that California buyer has purchased the vehicle.

STARTS UP AND DRIVES FINE WELL. IT NEEDS 1 OR 2 OF THE MOTOR MOUNTS TO BE REPLACED, BUT IT IS NOT URGENT. THE PAINT HAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR WITH A FEW DINGS, SCRATCHES AND DENTS. THE INTERIOR IS IN OVERALL GOOD SHAPE WITH A FEW BLEMISHES INCLUDING A MISSING COVER ON THE BACK OF THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE VEHICLE DOES NEED NEW TIRES. CALIFORNIA CLEAR TITLE AND REGISTRATION HAS EXPIRED ON FEB 2014. Payment and Fees: Each vehicle will be charged a $150 buyer fee on top of the winning bid. The deposit is a non refundable deposit unless Cars 2 Charities has mis represented the vehicle. A deposit must be made within 24-48 hours of winning bid. Deposit can be made using Paypal online or a Credit Card over the phone. The balance of the winning bid and buyer fee will be paid at the time of pick up. All payments except the deposit will need to be certified funds only. This is: Cash, Cashiers check or money order. Vehicles must be picked up within 3 days of winning bid. If vehicle is not paid and picked up, a storage fee of $25 per day will be assessed on the purchase. Please call to make arrangements if you are having difficulty picking up the vehicle.

Japanese automakers kick in $800k for new charging-station company
Mon, Jun 2 2014Cynics may say that gathering $800,000 (total) from four of Japan's largest automakers is merely a rounding error. Still, Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Mitsubishi, along with the Development Bank of Japan, are putting those funds to good use. So, that's something. Last week, those five entities officially founded Nippon Charge Service LLC. The company was established to promote plug-in vehicle charging installations across Japan and the automakers seeded it with 80 million yen, or about $786,000 US. Those funds will be used to help business owners deploy charging stations at convenience stores, highway-side locales and other locations that will make it easier for plug-in vehicle drivers (of Toyotas, Hondas, Mitsubishis and Nissans, obviously) to get their juice. The automakers first announced they'd collaborate last year, when they said they'd work with the Japanese government to more than triple the country's publicly accessible chargers to about 17,000 units. No targets were disclosed as far as how many charging stations would be deployed this time out, but, in a move similar to the EZ Charge system in the US, Nippon Charge Service will also have universally-accepted charging cards available by the end of the year to drivers all of those brands' plug-in vehicles to make the charging process a little more seamless. Nissan will restore Craigslist Maxima, display at headquarters [w/video]
Sat, 08 Feb 2014Nissan showed that it had a great sense of humor when it bought Luke Aker's beat-up 1996 Nissan Maxima GLE for $1,400 back in December based solely on the quality of his tongue-in-cheek sales video.
Aker's Maxima had been thoroughly driven. It needed a strap to keep its hood closed, had front end damage, a missing turn signal and shredded leather seats. Of course, like Aker said in his ad, the car was still "fully loaded with an engine, wheels, tires and an automatic transmission." How could Nissan resist?
After buying the car, Nissan teamed up with MotorAuthority to decide what to do with it. The winning idea was to restore the car to its proper condition and display it at Nissan North America headquarters in Franklin, TN, with Aker's video playing nearby. According to MotorAuthority, the car has finally made it there, and its rebirth will begin soon. Nissan is not sure when the car will go on display.

On paper, it promises the marriage of a truck's utility and a car's superior driving dynamics, and for that reason alone, we'd love to see more of them. Yet while other parts of the world get them in good numbers, North America doesn't ever see them - at least not for long. Based on what we've seen of late, though, that's not due to a lack of motivation on the part of engineers.
BMW wowed us several years ago with an M3 ute, and earlier this year, some interns converted a Mini Paceman into the pickup-bodied Paceman Adventure. Loathe to let their rivals in Munich and Oxford have all the fun, Nissan has built its very own car-based pickup. Meet Sparky, the world's first Leaf Frontier.
Like the M3, this all-electric ute is used as a parts hauler for Nissan's engineering teams at its sprawling Stanfield, AZ tech center and proving grounds.
