2014 Nissan 370z NISMO Coupe 6 speed in Magnetic Black with Black cloth interior, AUDIO PACKAGE, NISMO floor mats, illuminated kick plates, and carpeted trunk mats.  This vehicle is located at CLEAR LAKE NISSAN, 2150 Gulf Freeway South, League City, Texas, 77573.  We also have several other colors available.
Model Overview
The 370Z is available in coupe and roadster body styles. Whether in Base or Touring trim, both come with the same 332-horsepower, 3.7L V6 and a choice of 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmissions. The V6 employs Variable Valve Event and Lift Control--tech magic that makes sure the engine can stay smooth and efficient while providing strong performance. Highway fuel economy estimates rate as high as 26 mpg. The 370Z has been tested to accelerate to 60 mph in around five seconds. Both available transmissions are designed to maximize driving enjoyment. SynchroRev Match in the 6-speed manual automatically matches revs to the next gear to make shifting up smooth and shifting down a blast. The 7-speed automatic gets a comparable feature that matches revs to help reduce the jolt that is otherwise felt on a forced downshift. The automatic comes with steering-wheel paddle-shifters, but the shift lever can also be used. Underneath, the 370Z has a configuration much like a sedan's, but tuned far more aggressively. The suspension uses double wishbones in front and a multi-link setup in back, all kept under close control with stabilizer bars and high-response shocks. Grip is tremendous and balanced thanks to standard 18-inch wheels with staggered-width summer performance tires. An optional Sport Package brings 19-inch RAYS forged alloy wheels and even wider tires, along with larger Nissan Sport Brakes, 4-piston front calipers and a viscous limited-slip differential. All 370Z models feature anti-lock brakes with brake assist, along with electronic stability control. Front seat-mounted side airbags and door-mounted side-curtain bags are also standard. A special design feature of the speed-sensitive power steering is that it will reduce vibrations and major shocks while still transmitting road feel to the driver. The 370Z roadster features a black-cloth convertible soft top with a softer fabric inner liner that helps insulate the interior and reduce noise. Going up or down, the power top takes about 20 seconds to fully deploy. When the top is down, it stows away under a hard tonneau cover. There's also a pop-up glass wind deflector between the fixed headrest bars; it serves to help reduce turbulence at high speed. Touring models add a host of extras, including heated-and-cooled leather power seats, a Bluetooth hands-free system, a garage door opener, aluminum pedals and an 8-speaker Bose audio system. A Navigation Package also adds a Music Box hard drive and a USB interface. The NISMO 370Z coupe features an uprated version of the 3.7L V6, which delivers 350 horsepower. The car also includes race-inspired interior and exterior cues, plus an even firmer suspension, a premium stereo and special 19-inch Yokohama Sport Y-rated performance tires.  Price does not include ttl.  T

2014 Nissan Juke Nismo RS amps up the funky crossover

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

Nissan unveiled an even hotter version of the hotter Juke Nismo at the Los Angeles Auto Show - the Juke Nismo RS, a 215-horsepower crossover that may be the most hardcore model in the compact CUV segment (until we can convince Mazda to build a Mazdaspeed CX-5, that is).
The 215 hp and 210 pound-feet of torque represent bumps of 18 hp and 26 lb-ft over the standard Juke Nismo thanks to a revised ECU, a new exhaust with a larger diameter tube, and stronger connecting rods. This amped-up engine can be mated to the owner's choice of a six-speed manual, which takes advantage of a stronger clutch cover and dual-mass flywheel, or an Xtronic continuously variable transmission (although the CVT model loses four horsepower and all of the extra torque that the Nismo RS enjoys).
"We expect drivers to feel a noticeable increase in acceleration - especially the manual transmission model - in the RS versus the regular Juke Nismo. It also holds peak torque longer. Combined with the Helical Limited-Slip Differential, which helps reduce torque steer, the sense of driving excitement is unmatched in the Juke lineup," said Pierre Loing, Nissan's vice president of product and advanced planning and strategy.

37K miles in a 1967 Datsun Roadster

Tue, 11 Mar 2014

When we think of comfy, long-distance road cars, there are a few obvious choices. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley Continental GT or, assuming fuel efficiency isn't paramount, a Range Rover are all good options for a road trip. But what if that road trip was 37,000 miles? Maybe something more reliable but still comfortable, then, like a Honda Accord. What about a 1967 Datsun Roadster?
As insane as it sounds, Scott Fisher is doing just that, running a Datsun 1600 Roadster across North America and racking up 13,500 miles in his first three months on the road. His total journey will see him pile over 37,000 miles on his red convertible. The car is lightly modified, but most of the work is for the sake of reliability and comfort, with a five-speed manual 'box, an upgraded radiator and electronic ignition.
Fisher's trip hasn't been all smooth, with a few typical bits of trouble. He also ran into some deer in Utah, quite literally, clipping one of the animals, which delivered quite a bit of damage to the passenger's front fender (hence the rear three-quarter view in our lead shot). Still, the car seems to be holding up well, as shown in this latest video from Petrolicious.

Nissan working on something radical for Le Mans

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

With Porsche joining Audi and Toyota at the front of the LMP1 grid at Le Mans next year, Nissan is the next to be throwing its hat (and considerable R&D budget) into the proverbial ring. But only if it's allowed to do something radically different, according to the latest report in Car magazine.
Just what that means remains to be seen, but Nissan is reportedly in active discussions with the ACO (the body that governs the race) to see how far it can stretch the regulations. The ACO has taken an intriguingly different approach to equalizing performance, mandating the maximum amount of energy that can be used per lap instead of telling teams what kind of engines they can use. That's how Porsche is entering with a four-cylinder engine, Toyota with a V8 and Audi with a diesel six. But when it comes to the shape of the car itself, the rules are considerably more restrictive.
Unfortunately the rules would prohibit Nissan fielding the ZEOD RC (with its narrow front track) in the LMP1 class, relegating it instead to the Garage 56 slot for experimental racers (which the DeltaWing filled before). And the realities of endurance racing would effectively prohibit anyone from fielding an all-electric racer. Within those confines, though, Nissan is eager to find enough wiggle room to make something both visually and technically different from other LMPs. And if the ACO won't let it do so at Le Mans, it could turn to another race or series (like the Nürburgring 24) that would.
