Car has a few very small minor digs and chips from normal usage, very hard to see. The passenger door only opens from the inside, I just lower the window for passengers and they can open with the inside handle, just right there.Can be fixed and I have the part. The passenger air bag light is illumined, but still is is working condition. The car has two speed limit odometers the manual on sticks sometimes but the digital one is correct. there's a small hole under the drivers pedal but totally hidden under mat , I purchased it that way. I have owned the car 6 years only put 30,000 miles on it and it has been garage kept and driven by one woman over the age of 45.Reserve price is $9,999 The tires have only 5000 miles still under warranty from Discount Tire can be transferred to new buyer . battery under warranty very new , I have the receipt and will be given to buyer . UAW calls on US State Department to help with Nissan plant
Tue, 29 Apr 2014The United Auto Workers is calling for reinforcements in its ongoing battle with Nissan at the manufacturer's Canton, MS factory, where the Altima, Armada, Titan and NV (and eventually, the next Murano) are built. The union has been attempting to organize the employees at the factory for several years, but it's been largely unsuccessful.
Now, Reuters is reporting that the UAW is teaming with the IndustriALL Global Union and requesting intervention by the US State Department, with both groups accusing Nissan of using "threats, intimidation and fear" to keep the 5,600 workers at the facility from organizing. The two unions say this violates the guidelines of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, an international organization dedicated to stimulating economic growth.
The UAW and IndustriALL are asking the State Department's National Contact Point to serve as mediator with Nissan, to make sure things play out fairly. Speaking to Reuters, though, there's at least one Michigan-based labor adviser that's skeptical of the move.
Watch Nissan's autonomous Leaf in action
Sun, 06 Oct 2013Getting its semi-autonomous Leaf legalized in Japan was just the first step. Now, Nissan is giving demonstrations of what its fully autonomous car is capable of at this year's Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) show - Japan's equivalent to America's Consumer Electronics Show. To show off the possibilities of its technologies, Nissan had an oval track set up at the show giving rides in an autonomous Leaf to the media. Even Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn and Toyota CEO Akio Toyodo caught a ride.
Nissan has since released a couple videos of its CEATEC demos, with one designed to look like a news report. In this video, you can watch the car go around the track and navigate intersections and road hazards. The second video shows Ghosn riding in the car, and he hints that Nissan's goal of having an autonomous vehicle in production by 2020 might be more of a worst-case scenario.
