1996 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo on 2040-cars
Streamwood, Illinois, United States
I am selling my 96 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo, the vehicle runs and drives well. I have invested over $6k in engine, clutch and body rust removal. New JDM 91 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo engine imported from Japan with 30-40k Miles. Engie was bought from http://enginesus.com/inside.html New Clutch replaced last month, Rust removed from quarter panel, rear hatch and under door panels. I no longer have the funds available to invest in this vehicle, my loss is your gain! It will take less than $600 to make this car perfect! The vehicle needs the following: front tie rods, rear right ball joint (4WS) Hicas suspension. The vehicle has climate control, keyless entry, ps, pw, pdl, 5-sp Trans. I have not driven the vehicle for more than 5 minutes in the last 6 months due to it being in the shop. Vehicle has a clean title, however air bad light started flashing after clutch was replaced. Most likely a sensor needs to be replaced. It is advised to tow the vehicle, since the tie rods are bad. I have been as honest as possible with describing this vehicle, please email if you have questions. My email is ed300zx@hotmail.com I have set the reserve at a low $3200.00. If you do not have $3200, please do NOT bid, I will not accept a payment plan. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

Williams developing hybrid system for next Nissan GT-R?
Mon, 30 Sep 2013Back in June, Nissan announced a new partnership with Williams that would see the Formula One team's applied sciences division help develop a new line of Nismo performance models. It's not the only agreement Renault-Nissan has signed with an F1 team: Infiniti is the title sponsor for Red Bull and Renault powers four teams on the grid. It's also just the latest client Williams has signed a deal with to apply the lessons it has gleaned on the F1 circuit to other racing and sportscars. But now we've got some more info on how Williams and Nismo intend to collaborate on the next-generation GT-R.
According to Australia's Carsales, Williams Advanced Engineering is developing the hybrid powertrain that will boost the next iteration of the supercar-slayer known as Godzilla. Which may seem strange considering that the Renault-Nissan Alliance has plenty of experience with electric propulsion on its own, but then Williams has proven itself something of a leader in the field of performance hybrid powertrains: it supplies them to Porsche and Audi for their Le Mans racecars, and to Jaguar for the C-X75 concept.
Whether Williams and Nismo will settle on a flywheel-based energy recovery system or a more conventional battery-powered system remains to be seen, but brakeforce regeneration likely won't be the only element that Williams will develop for the next GT-R. Expect its expertise in aerodynamics and composites to come to bear as well, which can only mean good things for the replacement for a sportscar that's already one of the most capable on the road.
Robert Llewellyn fast-charges long-distance Leaf EV drive in UK
Thu, Jan 30 2014A British actor likely best known in his country for his role in the 1980s and 90s comedy series Red Dwarf has just made a pretty good case for driving green automobiles. Last week, Robert Llewellyn has completed an 862-mile round trip between London and Edinburgh in a Nissan Leaf and says he was able to save time by finding enough fast-charging stations the entire way, UK website Excite/Motoring says. Llewellyn, along with co-driver David Peilow, knocked out the London-to-Edinburgh leg in a single day, in part because of the British network of about 150 fast-charging stations. Llewellyn used his Twitter feed to update the general public of the two drivers' progress, noting that the first leg took about 13 hours. The round trip was completed January 26. Nissan can use all the positive publicity in can get, as UK sales of the all-electric vehicle failed to keep pace with the surging rate of demand in the US, where 2013 Leaf sales more than doubled from a year earlier to 22,610 units. In fact, in the UK, Nissan started offering incentives last month, things like free quick charging at Nissan dealerships, the ability to borrow gas-powered Nissans for free and free towing.
Nissan pulling Facebook ads over hate speech concerns
Fri, 31 May 2013The system for advertising on Facebook allows companies to target specific demographics with ads that follow people based on their personal information, but as some companies have been finding out lately, this could lead to their ads showing up on questionable pages. According to Automotive News and The New York Times, Nissan has joined a growing list of companies that has pulled its advertising until the social media giant can guarantee that the ads won't appear on offensive pages.
This issue came about as a result of a group calling for Facebook to ban gender-based hate speech that went unchecked on some fan pages. Apparently, some of these offensive pages even showed images of women being abused. We won't post the names of the offensive pages, but you can find some of them listed on the NYT article, though it looks like most of the pages have since been removed. As for Nissan, AN says that the only ads it had at the time were for Nissan UK, and there is no telling how this issue will affect Facebook advertising in the future.
