After 17 years, I have to part with my beloved Z. I am the second owner of this vehicle that I bought in 1997 with about 20k miles. This automatic transmission, naturally aspirated, T-Top, 4 seater is still a great car to drive.

It has 210k miles on it but it still still runs great and looks great. A few cosmetic nicks/dings, but considering it still has original paint, it is in great shape. Engine is still in great running condition. No mechanical issues. Timing belt (3rd one) replaced by Courtesy Nissan at 180k miles along with the water pump. Transmission rebuilt at 150k miles. AC serviced in April and blows very cold. Brand new Safety Inspection, passed with no issues.

Never raced or abused.

Interior is still original but is in great shape except for a small wear spot on the driver left lumbar (typical spot), but its very small.

Minor upgrades/improvements over the years.

Polished air intakes
Borla Twin Exhausts
Adjustable upper arms and tension bars.
KYB shocks
1998 OEM front air dam/lights.
Stillen front air scoop
Clear rear tail lights

Tires/Wheels
17x245x30 front - Less than 2k miles on them
18x 275x35 rear - Less than 2k miles on them
Speedline wheels 7" front, 8" rear.

Garaged kept up until 2 years ago when it became my daughters daily driver to high school and back. She only put 4k miles on it in 2 years. She now attends college in Utah and snow is no place for a light, rear wheel drive sports car.

Only cons are the original radio/tape/CD unit doesn't work and the antenna doesn't retract.

Vanity Plates are NOT included.

Nissan gives us the business on the art of clay modeling

Sat, 06 Apr 2013

The team from The Dashboard recently stopped by the Nissan Technical Center in Japan for a look at what exactly goes into creating a full-scale clay model. While automakers have been using clay bucks for decades, designers and engineers are now combining computer renderings and hand-sculpted clay models to determine how a new vehicle will look in our world. Engineers use specially formulated clay kept warm in an oven to bring the body panels to life. They then coat the clay in a thin plastic film to add body color for the final look.
By the time everything is said and done, workers may have hundreds of hours in the model's creation. So, what happens when the company no longer needs the buck? They get scrapped. Someone comes in and dismantles the whole creation. We presume that action is set to the wailing tears of everyone who had a hand in building the model. Check out the video below for a closer look.

NHTSA investigating Bosch Power Xpress 240V EV chargers for fire risk

Mon, Apr 21 2014

*UPDATED with Bosch's comment. Let's stamp out the flames of suspicion right up front. A new National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigation, while involving a 2013 Nissan Leaf and some smoke, is not about another EV fire. Not directly, anyway. "Nissan has determined by pictures that the car was not to blame for the incident" – NHTSA complaint This time, the subject of the NHTSA's lens is the Bosch Power Xpress 240V charging unit. NHTSA wants to know if an overheating charging cord caused smoke (NHTSA says there was no actual fire) in a Leaf owner's garage last fall. NHTSA says it will investigate, "to evaluate the scope, frequency, and consequence of the alleged defect." Up to 50 of the charging units could be involved, and NHTSA decided to act based on a single customer complaint that was filed in August 2013. The investigation opened April 15, so it will likely be a while before we know any more concrete details. For now, you can read the official details of the investigation and the original complaint - which says, "Nissan has determined by pictures that the car was not to blame for the incident. They are blaming the charging station for the failure. They have denied any warranty coverage. The burden of the bill has been placed with the customer" – below. Nissan's senior manager of corporate communications, Brian Brockman, sent AutoblogGreen a statement that says Nissan will work with NHTSA and Bosch and points out that, "This inquiry is focused on the electric vehicle charger and is directed at the charger supplier, Bosch." Requests for comment from Bosch were not returned, but we will update this post when we hear back. Bosch spokesperson Cheryl Kilborn told AutoblogGreen that, "Bosch is reviewing the filing and will work cooperatively with NHTSA as we seek to identify the root cause." INVESTIGATION Subject : Bosch EV charging cord overheating Date Investigation Opened: APR 15, 2014 Date Investigation Closed: Open NHTSA Action Number: PE14011 Component(s): ELECTRICAL SYSTEM All Products Associated with this Investigation close Equipment Brand NamePart No.

Nissan confirms what's in the box

Tue, 28 Jan 2014

While there were few doubts about what could've been hiding under the giant cardboard box being transported on a flatbed truck earlier this month, Nissan has officially confirmed that it was, in fact, a Versa Note being delivered from Amazon.
As a part of the special promotion, online shoppers who bought a Versa Note using the retailing giant also received a $1,000 Amazon gift card. Scroll down to watch how the car was packaged and shipped as well as what the buyer did with all that cardboard.
