Southlake, Texas, United States
I'm selling my 1991 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo. Car is in GREAT condition and needs nothing. I've taken a ton of time and money to make this into a fast, reliable sports car that turns heads while remaining as stock looking as possible. ALL performance parts have been added in the last year and are as follows:
New Jim Wolf Sport 700 Turbo's, Mike Smith Exhaust Manifolds, Specialty Z 3" downpipes, SZ 3" Test Pipes, SZ 3" exhaust, ASh Spec Massives intercoolers, Ash Spec Intercooler piping kit/ Ash Spec PLANAR piping kit/ Nismo 740CC Injectors/New OEM Wiring harness/Selin Dual MAF translator with 370z filters/ Powertrix front strut tower brace/ new spark plugs/ Apexi AVC-R Electronic boost controller/ 12" sub woofer/ Kenwood head unit/ Specialty Z tune switching module to change from Q16 to 93 octane tunes/ Specialty Z Hi-5 clutch package with flywheel and steel clutch line/ Woody short shifter/ 18" Iforged Aero wheels with 315 ET Streets in the rear/ SRT8 Front caliper upgrade with Larger 370Z drilled rotors/ BRAND NEW OEM paint job with all seals, moldings and gaskets replaced at time of paint/ Motor has new 120k timing belt kit, new head, intake and plenum gaskets, basically everything is new.
After the build, I trailered the car out to Los Angeles from Texas to have Specialty Z tune it. They set it up for a Q16 race gas tune and a 93 Octane tune. On Q16 it made 617hp at the wheels, on 93 it made 476hp at the wheels. There is a scramble boost button installed to allow for more boost in situations where you feel you need it.
This car is incredibly fast and needs nothing. I would jump in it tomorrow and drive anywhere in the country. I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of what's been done to it, but it really is phenomenal.
Price is OBO, Feel free to call or text me with any questions about the car.
Car is located in Dallas, TX

Nissan IDX production model to get sharper, less retro styling
Sat, 23 Aug 2014The Nissan IDx seems like the type of concept that auto enthusiasts wish they could be driving. With a compact size, style inspired by the classic Datsun 510 and a rear-wheel-drive powertrain, it certainly ticks many of the boxes that people want. Unfortunately, the car seems to be miles away from actually getting a green light for production, but rumors about the retro coupe's future keep cropping up.
The last we heard about the IDx, the biggest complication with the coupe was that it was a tough project to make profitable. Nissan didn't have a cheap enough rear-wheel drive platform to make the affordable coupe work. The latest rumors point to a potential solution to this problem. According to Motoring from Australia speaking to an insider close to Nissan, the new plan is to tweak the styling to be less retro and adapt the car to work on the platform for the forthcoming, next-generation Z car.
The new look reportedly cribs from the Nissan Sport Sedan Concept from the 2014 Detroit Motor Show, including its floating roof design and sharper edges around the fenders. In terms of power, the source tells Motoring, the IDx could use a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with around 180 horsepower on tap. That might not sound like too much, but remember the Z car itself is rumored to get smaller and lighter when it's new generation hits the stage. If the weight is low enough, potentially using it for the IDx might just work.
Nissan giving away Leaf-shaped air fresheners that smell like the future
Sat, 14 Dec 2013We had to check our calendar to make sure it didn't read April 1, but since it's not April Fool's Day, we have to assume that Nissan of Europe really has created a special air freshener scent to give away this Christmas. To create this original fragrance, Nissan looked to Dr. George Dodd, a master perfumer and aroma academy scientist who looks a tiny bit like Santa Claus (we seriously aren't making this stuff up).
Like a mad scientist, Dr. Dodd went to work blending chemicals and fragrances to design a smell that matches the Leaf's Earth-friendly, zero-emission attitude. Once the "scent of the future" is transformed into the lovely Santa-driving, Leaf-shaped air freshener you see above, Nissan of Europe will be giving one to its employees, Leaf customers and "select electric car fans." Sadly, EV - and scent - enthusiasts here in the US will be stuck with the tried-and-true pine tree air freshener.
We don't want to ruin exactly what Dodd finally came up with for the "scent of the future," but you can find out for yourselves in the video and press release posted below.
Carlos Ghosn to step down as Nissan CEO on April 1
Thu, Feb 23 2017Carlos Ghosn announced he will be stepping down as CEO of the Nissan on April 1, to be replaced by current Nissan co-CEO Hiroto Saikawa. The move comes after close to two decades of leadership and the rebuilding of a company that was close to disaster. Ghosn isn't finished with the company he helped rebuild, as he will remain on as chairman of the board and continue on as leader of the Renault-Nissan Alliance following the change of guard. In addition to running Renault-Nissan, Ghosn has taken over as chairman of Mitsubishi Motors after acquiring a 34-percent stake in 2016, a move he spearheaded. Ghosn stated, "I am confident that the management team I have developed at Nissan over the past 18 years has the talent and experience to meet the company's operational and strategic goals. Having recently taken on new responsibilities at Mitsubishi Motors, and taking into consideration the upcoming Nissan general shareholders meeting, I have decided that the time is right for Hiroto Saikawa to succeed me as Nissan's CEO." A release from Renault-Nissan said the move allows Ghosn to focus more attention on bringing together the three companies. Saikawa, his replacement, has been with Nissan since 1977 and has overseen operations in the company's markets worldwide.
