1990 Nissan 300zx Turbo Coupe 2-door 3.0l Z32 on 2040-cars
Year:1990
Mileage:132000
Location:
Waterloo, Iowa, United States
1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo (aka Z32) (aka Fairlady Z)
Overall, this car is in very nice condition for a 24 year
old car. I purchased this car from my good friend 3 years ago as he soon had
children and didn't drive it. I am now finding myself in that boat as my wife
and I are expecting and she said I better get something with a back seat. The
car currently has 131,900 miles on the odometer. My knowledge on the history
of this car starts back in 1998 when my friend purchased it. At that time the
car came with a salvage title. I'm not exactly sure what happened to it, but I
know the car drives straight and there is no unusual wear on the wheels. The
car was completely repainted back in 1999 after being keyed. When they stripped
the car, the body shop went through it and found nothing majorly wrong. I have bare
metal pictures of the car at the body shop (Polaroid's). My friend thought that
it was involved in some insurance fraud case, but that's not certain.
The car has the following features:
3.0L VG30DETT V6 5-speed manual transmission White (repainted in 1999) Black leather seats (new leather in early
2000's) Electronic climate control Power windows Power locks (pressure controlled) Power driver's seat Rear windshield wiper Cruise control T-tops - they do not leak when I wash the car in
my driveway, that may be another story with a rain storm. Rear wheel steering (HICAS - High Capacity
Actively Controlled Steering) TwinZ Design custom spoiler added in 2012 Kenwood CD/MP3 player added in 2011 18" ADR Design wheels 235/40 ZR18 BFGoodrich Comp T/A Front 265/35 ZR18 BFGoodrich G-Force T/A Rear
As mentioned above, the interior was redone in early 2000's.
The interior used to be black with white inlays. The interior was changed to
all black. The seats, door panels, and center console were redone. There are
only issues with the door panels as the passenger door has a few bubbles and
the driver's door is pealing (see pictures). This could easily be corrected in
an upholstery shop. I just haven't had enough interest to fix it as it's not
critical to the function of the car.
In early 2000's, my friend rebuild the engine and lowered
the compression (for more boost, of course). Upgrades include:
Arias pistons Jim Wolf Technology valves and cams Upgraded intercoolers GReddy TD05 turbo kit (costs more than what I'm
asking) with external waste gates EGT monitor 720cc injectors with a custom fuel rail for AN
fittings Aftermarket fuel filter and regulator with stainless
fuel lines Oil preluber/postluber (instead of a turbo
timer) A'PEXi
AVC-R (Actuator Valve Controller Type-R) boost controller A'PEXi S-AFC (Super Air Flow Converter) Service Techtom monitor Aftermarket Boost gauge (on A pillar) Dual Exhaust Temp gauge (on A pillar) Kevlar racing clutch HKS HiPower (Hiper) exhaust system
With the upgrades, this car has a lot of power. The car has
never been dynoed, but I can assume that the car has somewhere between 450-500
hp based off of similar builds that have been posted online. The car currently
has the stock tune and could be retuned for more power. However, for me it runs
good enough to make me happy. It does currently run a little rich. Also, I
believe the valves will need to be adjusted soon as I'm starting to hear them. Since
the rebuild, only Royal Purple full synthetic oil has been used in the engine.
The rear differential and transmission currently have Red Line synthetic oil.
The car will also come with an assortment of parts including additional
stainless lines and AN fittings, extra wiring harness, stock injectors, service
cover for the car (covers side fenders and front), FACTORY service manual (aka:
the 300ZX bible), timing belt covers (they were removed when the engine was
rebuild and never reinstalled), etc. I have most receipts and manuals for the
items installed.
These cars have been noticed for their power and beauty.
Every year from 1990-1996 (last year imported to the US), this car made the
"10 best" list by Car and Driver. In 1990 the car was named Motor Trend's
"Import Car of the Year," Automobile Magazine named it "Design
of the Year," and Road & Track named it "One of the Ten Best Cars
in the World." In 2004, Automobile magazine listed the Z32 one of the
"100 greatest cars of all time." In 2006, the Z32 was recognized as
one of the "20 Greatest Cars of the Past 20 years" and the one of the
"25 Most Beautiful Cars in History."
Car is sold "as is." The car runs well and has never
left me stranded. It is, however, a 20+ year old car. It should also be noted that
the rear key for the hatch does not work, but the hatch can be opened by the
hatch lever by the driver's seat. I've tried my best to explain the car, if you
have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

The Nissan Juke-R must've been a tough car to build a business case for, yet the madcap little crossover with the heart of a GT-R is now a production reality. Admittedly, we should probably assign some quotes around "production," since the vehicle is being built on a one-by-one on-demand basis at extraordinary cost - at an estimated price of well over $600,000, it has little in common with the already bonkers everyday Juke. We're just happy it exists at all.
With 545 horsepower, we also didn't figure it needed more power. But that apparently hasn't stopped the tuning community, which probably only had to adapt performance adders designed for the GT-R to the mechanically similar CUV. Thus, we end up with this mile-long drag race, which pits a Bugatti Veyron against a Juke-R prepared by an outfit called Shpilli Villi Engineering with a claimed 700 horsepower. That's still well down on horsepower versus the legendary quad-turbo supercar, but the much smaller Nissan also figures to be a lot lighter while boasting similar all-wheel-drive traction. We don't have much more information to go on other than this video, and it doesn't appear that both drivers necessarily got their best runs in, but it certainly makes for jaw-dropping watching. Not much has changed with the Nissan Titan in the decade that it's been on the market, but the 2015 model year could move the needle enough to turn the truck from an "also ran" in the fullsize truck market to more of a contender. Edmunds had the chance to sit down with Pierre Loing, vice president of product and advanced planning and strategy for Nissan North America, who indicated that not only will a new truck be coming for 2015, it is also expected to take a bigger chunk of the truck market currently dominated by Ford and General Motors.
For starters, the article quotes Loing saying that the next-gen Titan could sell 100,000 units, which is almost five times the number of Titans and the same number of Toyota Tundra trucks sold last year. To accomplish this, Nissan is planning to offer a wider number of models (including a regular cab version) and more powertrain options; we're sure this means Nissan is considering offering a V6. The addition of a regular-cab, V6 Titan would also allow this truck to be more competitively priced.
Will that be enough to attract buyers away from the Big Three domestic trucks? We'll just have to wait and see...

Nissan is set to bring a special to the Fairlady faithful at the annual ZDAYZ fest. Based on the sole teaser and the event it's being unveiled at, it's pretty clear that Nissan is going to be issuing some kind of update to the Nismo version of its 370Z.
What that update is, though, is unclear. We can see a few small visual tweaks, like the horizontal LED running lights and their associated vertical vent. The grille looks reformed as well. Beyond that, though, it looks like we're stuck waiting for the full details until tomorrow afternoon. Until then, take a look below for the world's shortest press release.
